A Great Time to Start Something!

Quote
Debonneville was starting to discover that Pierce had not only lied to Debonneville about the Yantis Stock Repurchase, but also that Pierce had benefited personally to the detriment of Debonneville from the Salyer and Maslow sale of stock. Of course, Debonneville was shocked to learn that Pierce had sold any of Pierce’s stock in IGE…

…On July 14, 2006, in an apparent attempt to convince Debonneville that his interest in IGE was becoming worth less and less money, Debonneville was sent an article regarding a crackdown on the sale and purchase of game items for cash in Korea. The implication was that IGE’s recent acquisition of Itemmania, a Korean online house, was going to be a failure. In hindsight, it appears that this was just another one of Pierce’s attempts to manipulate Debonneville into selling his stock to Pierce for a less than fair value, certainly for less than Pierce realized on the sale to Maverick. Today, it is likely that this may in fact be IGE’s most valuable remaining asset…

He sounds like a guy that will fit in really well to our community.
What is the date of the welcoming party?  Cheesy

...So yeah, innocent until proven guilty, case dismissed, therefore innocent. Unless you know of other evidence?
...

innocent until proven guilty applies to legal cases, and I understand he was "just a kid".
He left the country with his partners and there is more than enough for the media to cause trouble if they want to.

Also, I might note, his moral character and sexual tendencies, particularly at age 17-19, doesn't say much about his honesty and trustworthiness at age 34. He doesn't strike me as someone stuck in the past:

http://web.archive.org/web/20080202014535/http://virtuallyblind.com/2008/01/30/ige-pierce-debonneville-complaint/

Quote
The fifty-seven page Complaint alleges that Pierce “has taken advantage of Debonneville on numerous occasions including … stealing shares that should have been given to Debonneville, denying Debonneville the right to sell his stock, and excluding Debonneville from a $20,000,000 stock sale which benefited only Pierce.”

I guess reneging on doling out $20M to a partner is not akin to reuniting $275M to thousands of strangers.

BTW, I strongly suggest reading the entire article I duly linked to get further up to speed, otherwise you may miss where Jonathan Yantis came into play.

^ I like how straight you are!

He was a Hollywood child actor, so stories of debauchery should not be surprising. Sexual molestation, however, particularly of a 13-year-old, would be an issue with the MSM, but Brock Pierce is not accused of anything like that; he was a "peripheral defendant", according to this Wired article: http://archive.wired.com/gaming/virtualworlds/magazine/16-12/ff_ige_pierce

Quote
DEN [Digital Entertainment Network, the dot-com company co-founded at age 17 by Brock Pierce] fell apart in 1999, when senior co-founder Marc Collins-Rector, 40 years old at the time, settled a lawsuit that accused him of sexually molesting a 13-year-old male employee. Other young men then filed similar suits against Collins-Rector, naming Pierce and 25-year-old DEN co-founder Chad Shackley as peripheral defendants. None of the three DEN founders could be located, and default judgments totaling $4.5 million were handed down.

Pierce says, he had no knowledge of the suits at the time, and when he finally showed up to contest them two years later, the judgments against him were dismissed.

So yeah, innocent until proven guilty, case dismissed, therefore innocent. Unless you know of other evidence?

Also, I might note, his moral character and sexual tendencies, particularly at age 17-19, doesn't say much about his honesty and trustworthiness at age 34. He doesn't strike me as someone stuck in the past:

Quote
On the drive back up to his house in the Laurel Canyon hills, he kept talking, telling me about his current list of projects, entrepreneurial and otherwise. He had just sold a casino in the Phillippines. There was an oil deal in Kazakhstan. He was doing philanthropic work with the Clinton Global Initiative. He was working with the family of the president of El Salvador to make some worthy documentary or another. His list was delivered with an almost manic urgency. If I were to presume to have the slightest idea what really goes on inside Brock Pierce's head, I might suggest he was trying to establish by sheer force of talk the irrelevance of anything in his past to all the things he's doing today.

Thanks, I saw your post in the other thread about Brock Pierce.
Did you know the new Gox will be adding exchanges for LTC, Feathercoin, and Child porn?

Edit:
Of course Brock Pierce claims he was completely innocent during those wild parties:

Pretend you're at a party in your late teens/early 20s, and there's a slew of drugged up naked girls of various ages strolling around. How do you NOT fuck the 16 year old's tight pussy? Or, are those into gay sex immune to fucking lads under the age limit?

Back in the 80s, I had the pleasure of working with a just 17 year old opening gay guy whose BF was 33. The 33 year old was a business man, of which would easily come across as not gay. The 17 year old openly discussed parties he attended in the Chicagoland area where other young boys had sex with overage men, going into great detail on how many times they cum up their asses.

Prior to associating with the 17 year old, of which I attended the Chicago Gay Parade with, I was not versed in the going ons in unsaid community. It wasn't till I lived in Nashville and had another friend that is bi did I get reintroduced in the going ons.

To be motherfuckin' clear, we are discussing whether or not a paedo- associated with the former Mt Gox is appropriate or not. BTW, there's more than one involved.

Questions: How many rednecks, some of which have blogs with millions of readers, are going to embrace Bitcoin once they get wind of the above? Moreover, how many will kick Bitcoin to the curb as fodder for their reader base? Did you forget about mainstream media? Do you honestly believe the exchange rate is going to climb back up to its early highs when this shit hits the tabloids? What the fuck were they thinking when they put such person in position? They couldn't pull one viable candidate outta their ass (no pun intended) to fill said capacities?

Put your trust in MATH.
It only compensates people from US / Canada.
The majority of the MtGox customers were foreigners (including me).
These foreign customers are not included in this Class Action

Well that's what matters.

Nobody really cares about ppl from 3rd world countries.

If you compare Switzerland, that is where I come from, to Canada and USA. Then I can proudly say Canada and USA are 3rd world countries.
So put a sock in it!

There is no mention of Sunlot risking any of its own money in this deal.  They are taking 83.5% equity in the new company in exchange for $10M of the creditors money, at no risk to itself?  How is this an appropriate deal for the creditors?

It is an absolutely terrible deal for the creditors. I have no idea why any serious person with experience in finance would think this would work or be accepted by the administrator or the courts. It is a joke.

It's an appropriate deal for the creditors because the only alternative is liquidation.

I have yet to read a valid reason why the Sunlot proposal is a bad (i.e. worse than liquidation) deal for the creditors. But please enlighten me.

Maybe you're looking at it strictly in terms of numbers and with no faith in Sunlot's ability to recreate Gox. For people who lost more than a few bitcoins, Sunlot's plan is obviously much better than liquidation. And it seems to me that the same is true for Bitcoin, because with liquidation it would be up to the crypto-inexperienced Tokyo police to uncover the truth behind the missing 650,000 BTC.

Yes,
I'm from The Netherlands. Also not really a 3rd world country...
My question: "Are you still gonna take steps in retrieving cash/coins?" If yes, I'm very interested what is possible for us?

A while ago I have called the number mentioned in https://www.mtgox.com/img/pdf/20140424_announce_qa_en.pdf
They asked me to be patience and follow the announcements on the mtgox site.
At this moment they have not any additional news for foreign people.

Thanks in advance

So compensate US/Canada customers only, from funds that rightly belong to everybody else as well. Way to restore trust. That smells like a steaming pile of crap to me.

Capitalized by $10 million (3.6% of stolen assets) in MtGox cash held in trust by Nobuaki Kobayashi, the administrator appointed by
the Tokyo District Court, the fund would conduct forensic investigations and pursue prosecution  of perpetrators.
