fuze post this somewhere in the op temporarily so it doesnt get lost in discussion thread.

we are going to do a public poll to decide how many total coins supercoin will have.

please vote here:
http://strawpoll.me/6889793

if you dont know what i mean by 4 year plan this is what i am referring to as it was pretty much the majority decided to have this scaling for PoS

1st year:  100%    over
2nd year: 50%      over in May

1st  year new plan: 20%
2nd  year new plan: 15%
3rd  year new plan: 10%
4th  year new plan:  5%

the scaling above is the second option.

the first option is the same ratios above just slightly reduced and never going below 5%. (so it would be basically skipping the 20% year phase and personally i like this option)

some of the plans say + enough years at 5% to hit a coin number. this means that the 4th year will just keep repeating.

go vote please. i will edit the code on... friday? based on the poll

I have also sent 0.05 btc .  So that should be the 0.10 needed for the blockexplorer.

btw i am looking into getting another blockexplorer aka chainz.  They already emailed me back.
$55 for 6 month and $100 for a year.  I am trying to get them down to $45 for 6 months.

chainz is IMO the most robust and respected explorer. If you are considering the full year that may be best if a deal could be negotiated, I would also donate for that cause
Thanks for your thoughts!
Any donations can be made here for Chainz.

We have to disagree on that,  Smiley
# of staking coins does affect security.
More coins mean more available for staking, when the wallets are online.

hashProofOfStake <= [Coin-age] x [Target]
[Coin-age] = [amount of coins] x [days in stake]

Coin-Days = Coin-age * block size.
weight = coin age * balance

 Cool

FYI:
This is not to pick at Fly & xde2, but just to make you aware.
I mentioned this to Vegas in the forums, but don't know if they mentioned it to you guys doing the programming.
PoS coins with a low number of coins that main angle is being rare, really need to have a checkpoint server in place.
Without a checkpoint server sending checkpoints to protect the chain and a low difficulty #, they risk having the blockchain overwritten , if someone with a large wallet leaves their wallet offline, until their age builds high enough and don't sync their chain before it trys to stake, they can overwrite the blockchain and wipe out previous transactions.
You experienced it with Eccoin, that time ecc chain was overwritten by ~ 2 weeks and you had to place a uncompromised blockchain out for download.
* coins with no max age are even more susceptible to this attack.*

with ECC it had more to do with the number of wallets online and the fact that the one that was messed up was an exchange (allcoin before they closed), so they had like 20% of the coins. this is the reason why exchanges arent supposed to be staking. but ill chalk this one up to more a vote, ill set up a poll to vote in a second

but this does not tell me maxmimum amount of mintable coins to be created by the end, was it supposed to stop after year 6 in which case we would have 58 million, were we staying with the 50 million? or were we going up to a higher number?

IMO, since you are talking about the actual total number of Super coins to ever exist would be 100 Million total.
That will still give many more years at 5%, plus the more coins in existence the more coins that are staking the more secure the network.

 Cool

pos security depends on the number of wallets online with valid staking not the number of coins, each wallet could be minting .0001 coins per stake and it would be just as secure as 10000 coins per stake.

So does that mean if there was a temporary moment when only say, 10% of the coins were in open wallets, a holder of 11% could not open up and potentially attack /overwrite the blockchain ? In fact they couldn't with 50% of the staking weight ? (I have noticed that at times I have had, in another coin, near to 50% of the staking weight when my holding was only 0.2% of the existing coins)

okay guys, bad news. but no big deal.

the block explorers expire in 12 days.

I will be paying to renew them when the time comes

My btc donation address -----> https://www.coinbase.com/Griffith   if you so choose to help out

also as far as the code update for setting the pos i will be changing it to this:

1st year:  100%    over
2nd year: 50%      over in May
3rd  year: 20%
4th  year: 15%
5th  year: 10%
6th  year:  5%

but this does not tell me maxmimum amount of mintable coins to be created by the end, was it supposed to stop after year 6 in which case we would have 58 million, were we staying with the 50 million? or were we going up to a higher number?

I can accept 58 million supercoins as the maximum .

If you could all spread awareness for SUPERCOIN then we can gather the much need attention to push Supercoin to where it belongs!

This forum was started on FEB 3rd 2016.  Look how much we have accomplished in 18 days!  Please PM, DM, Post in multiple Bitcointalkforums, Twitter, etc..

YOBIT, ALCUREX, and we are currently #1 to be added to C-CEX.com this week! https://c-cex.com/?id=vote

I will be paying to get a Spanish , Chinese, Russian , French and Indonesian translation this week!

If thing goes well I will also take care of the OP by organizing into clear categories then I will have My graphic designer to turn it into a infographic that is similar to the one found on the shadowcash forum https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/sdc-shadowcash-welcome-to-the-umbra-745352

The goal is to gain at least 1 new follower per day!  This will create a snow ball effect!

"First they ignore you.  Then they laugh at you.  Then they attack you.  Then you win!"

Please copy and paste the below message.  Edit this as you see fit.  SUPERCOIN Team effort!

Supercoin has decentralized anonymous transactions with multisignature!  No MASTERNODE!!
20 seconds per confirmation! 3 is the minimum to confirm!  PoS is currently 50% until May 2016!

Supercoin is more anonymous than Darkcoin and if you disagree then take a look at the whitepaper on the bitcointalk forum and/or the forum to view the github code to prove us wrong.

My vote goes for this!

I'm thinking something like

Year 1 - 20%
Year 2 - 15%
Year 3 - 10%
Year 4 - 5%
From Year 5 - 3% or 4% for a number of years.
Then - between 1% and 3% for a number of years (but longer time period than previous).

Total years stretched as long as possible for last two changes with the very last being the most years.

Try to keep the total coin cap at around 70 million or less.

Also maybe a consideration (not sure if it would be better or not, so just an out there thought) that the percentage changes could be triggered on block count instead of years.

OK ,
This was the original
1st year:  100%
2nd year: 50%
3rd and subsequent years: 1%,

I think someone said in May it starts the 3rd year, so your post should look like
1st year:  100%    over
2nd year: 50%      over in May
3rd  year: 20%
4th  year: 15%
5th  year: 10%
6th  year:  5%

Personally would not recommend ever going lower than 5%, reason being Utility stocks paid 5% yearly,
Investors need a comparable rate of return otherwise they will go elsewhere, part of the reason Blackcoin can't get any real traction at only 1% per year , it just not worth the trouble.

 Cool
