Sorry but I am not sure I understood the whole thing properly. I am in Asia so superstition here is really big, so is numerology.

But I do not believe in it,,, maybe because I am modern. I know friends who gamble with their backs facing a certain direction (fengshui) or some who buy digit games when they see accidents (taking the carplate number of the accident) but it is all coincidence.

Luck is luck, random is blind:)

There is a superstition in every country, every nation, every human being. Only its dimensions are different. The number 13 is a superstitious superstition in western countries. And it's possible to find a lot of resources. This has nothing to do with modernity. I know people who are afraid of frogs.

To be honest, I don't know.

I knew an engineer and an architect. They told me that it is not good for them to design or build stairs with 13 steps. I thought this is just a superstition but I never thought that it is also being applied in professional jobs like that. In casino's, maybe people are avoiding it for the same reason. Don't know what is wrong with number 13 but it brings bad luck as they said it.

In fact, this story goes back to the roots of Christianity. Maybe there's a before.

Here are some of the first known source:

stop fooling yourself with superstitions because as what i've seen in your posting most of this are believing in stupid things.
you always create tread that only you understand or others that has same views in life like yours.but the totality?majority of people here don't get what you are saying so stop it .
I can correlate somewhat to the number 13 as in the Us there is this superstition where if Friday is on the 13th of the month they believe that bad things happen in this date.I think that this is only a superstition and I don’t think casinos rely on these rather they build winning algorithms and softwares for their games that will assure they will be making money in the long run.
lol that was just a movie and nothing in real,it was popularized just to make that movie gain high.and only few believe on that Friday the 13th thing.

actually from my own experience?in friday the 13th?many good things happen and there is no bad things, realtalk mate.

If casinos did things like that it would be discovered and their reputation would be marked for good.

And you think an AI chooses a number intentionally  is good, right?
Maybe the machine has artificial intelligence that deliberately pulls out number 13 because it knows people are an unlucky number and people won't dial that number.

I think you're wrong, a casino must ensure it's fairness, the algorithms must be clean completely. And if such an AI exists, it is unfair in a game, and this casino should not be marked for good.

First, I will not offend anyone if he does not know or is wrong in his country, but number 13 is an "unfortunate number" and people do not like him.

Number 13 is associated with the Lucky Six, a game where numbers are drawn before you draw, 6 numbers in particular.
In this game, each of the balls has different colors, and by playing the "case" Plague number 13 is black.
For all those superstitious, this is very bad and brings a bunch of bad things

Now, people never pick 13 when choosing numbers, but I thought more deeply.
Maybe the machine has artificial intelligence that deliberately pulls out number 13 because it knows people are an unlucky number and people won't dial that number.
That is my guess, it may sound naive, but the scratch was 70% correct.

I am interested in your opinions on this, whether it makes sense and whether you agree.
If something is not clear to you, ask?

I think it's about one or a few religions. Superstition. There's no other explanation. 13 just a number, just like other ones...
I respect then believing 13 is not good choice. But I don't believe.

In my experience only Americans believe that number 13 is an unlucky number. That is not something that is common in many parts of the world. Most people know about it from movies and the stories surrounding Friday the 13th.

Someone mentioned there is no Floor #13 in buildings. This is true.
When I stayed in US hotels you would have floors 11, 12, 14, 15 etc. And also no room #13 anywhere.

So whats the reason for this ? There must be a series of unpleasant events associated with the number 13 and you exclude them from the floor numbering.
But again we still have 13th day in a month, so that will be an unlucky day ? I do not believe in superstitions but need to know how true are the people believes on such things.

So your analysis turns out 70% correct? on how many gambling sites and what gambling sites, every gambling site differs in their algorithm, what's true on one gambling cannot be true on another site, and your findings are very interesting people might wanna try that on their next betting.

I don't take loans, ask for sig if I ever do.
Well, you already said what could counter your opinion. It's a "Superstition". I'd rather believe in my gut rather than some superstitions, to be honest. It defeats the purpose of logic and science, and it's a very intangible matter much like how luck is. People are free to believe in their superstitions, beliefs, and whatnot, but it doesn't mean that they are actually true, more like it is believed by many to be true because they need a pillar of support for that situation, to make it much more explainable. Like how thunderstorms in the old age were believed to be the anger of the gods when in reality it's just the weather acting up.

They even excluded that number with floor buildings so it's a very known superstitious belief but I don't think that casinos will ever consider that. Not every gambler has the same belief and some are just making fun of this number and tries to pull the trigger if they want to.

It can easily programmed but I don't think it go as you think.

Did you mean you are 70% right about your fact when you said "scratch with 70% correct"? Then, yeah, high chance you are wrong. Superstition is just false believe. Indeed some people tends to choose lucky number 7 and avoid 13 at all cost. But, no I don't think any casino would be taking advantage of this. If they want their device to be rigged, there are hundreds and millions of way to do so. It becomes risky for them to rigg their casino based on people not choosing this number. If people finds out about this, they will be taking huge advantage of this and the casinos will go bankrupt.

I doubt they'd actually include that in the algo of the machine though? Like if it's discovered, it can easily be taken advantage of. Plus, this removes the provably fair mechanism in the game, and well, the gambling casino would pretty much be dissed for that. IF the machine actually picks numbers based on past results and determines the most unlikely one to be picked, well, that could be possible, but then the algo for that would be pretty simple so I doubt my explanation is enough to provide the entire machines logic, but it could be a part of it.

It makes sense as a machine could varying algorithms, but in the end, it should end up with how lucky you are though. Just having a guess of it being probable is pretty much you just lying to yourself so you can keep betting.
