Network effect poker is only achieved when everyone reports to one site. It's one of those few cases where decentralization hurts the economy.
Agree. You need people playing in order to get more people to play. It's kind of a chicken/egg thing. But once you reach a certain point it will snowball.
I also agree that there are times when there is a lack of action. But, like Micon posted, I know that they have a plan and things are still on track.
The first issue they were worried about was improving connectivity. Now that they have turned the corner in that area they can start to work on promotions and expanding the games.
The games will get a lot better soon with an expanded tournament schedule, promotions, krillrolls, and other-than-windows versions. This is just the beginning.
Also, like Naked said, a lot of times even when there aren't tables running I feel like there are still people waiting to play. There are people that don't want to start tables, but will join once it gets 3 handed.
It obviously depends on which game/stake you are looking for... but sitting and posting an action request has usually worked well.
I think of it like a scene at a school dance in some cheesy movie. Everyone standing around on the sidelines not wanting to be the first one to start dancing. But once one guy does then eventually the whole party joins in.
