Thanks man. I have updated it several times over the past week or so.  Still says no registered e-mail for this account.  I know you are only getting updates on the e-mail addresses every few days or whatever, but I have seen every other person get their account restored while I wait.  I know it will happen, and I can still access SWC on another account, so I am alive, but I don't feel alive.  I am going to go make a new e-mail address now, and add/update that one to it on the old site.

Cardroom manager Glitch just put up a yummy MTT menu for the next few days.

highlights:

-- peppered with 5 chip freerolls in many different disciplines as well as the good 'ole 2 card holdy
-- the 'ole 20 Chip 1k GTD! will take the name of the "little BTC" and be 25 chips to get in and 1k GTD'd
-- this Sunday we'll do a "Medium BTC" 100 chip / 4k GTD.  We're not quite ready for the BIG BTC but we will be soon.
-- light daily menu to persist each day, we'll start to fill this out over time, but note I have asked Glitch to go slow.

all feedback welcome.

The levels on the new MTT seem to be jumping much faster than before.
Not really, I somehow like the new structure better. The previous one was actually a bit too slow. The speed is just perfect imo.

My old login credentials are not working. What is the recipie to log in?

Basically have your old account linked to an email on the old site.
Then on the new site after some time, hit forgot password with the old username details and it will send you a request to change your password

4 minute levels on non-freeroll OFC/p games is pretty bad.  Needs to be 8 minutes minimum, 10 would prob be better.

There should be a mix of slow, normal, turbo and super turbo type games.  Some people like fast tournaments and don't like sitting around 8 hours for a 5 chip tournament.  Some people want hours of play for their money.

4 minutes is definitely turbo though.  I just played one of these (freeroll) and there was basically one hand at the final table.

Oh I agree, but even a turbo MTT should take > an hour.

Also a note: the payout structure/no H4h on these OFC MTTs is pretty bad.  A shortstack on the bubble can stall ~5 min/hand.

When something like this happens you should go to "Force Reconnect" under the "Help" tab.

I may write code in exchange for bitcoins.
Most sheeple, maybe.  But anyway, obviously this is my opinion.  For me it's a little bit ironic the combination of the "no dox/anonymity/freedom" ethos espoused by the team here and then a lock-in to a proprietary, non-free, spyware OS where some company has ROOT control of your computer and goodluck with any privacy.  I used to have so much fun on the old-seals so I'm also terribly butt-hurt by simply not being allowed to try out the new site.

Jesus, can we shut up about this already.  They were forced to switch to software still under development, in a hurry, under suboptimal conditions.  They say they will work on other platforms, and I'm sure they will, but it won't be instant.

I agree, if they don't want to install windows then they can still play by getting a cheap VPS and connect to it by RDP.

Ok, @Scilian, I think I'll go ahead and shutup about this when I can start playing again.  Until then, I've really got not motivation to "shut up" and every motivation to keep the issue in the forefront.

@wwwin: Lets say that I don't want to "install windows", you want me to buy a virtual windows server or something?  Isn't that even more of a lol than just installing a virtualization software locally?  That sounds absolutely crazy on two accounts: (1) who would pay to rent spyware that MS corp controls, ie Windows? That is, I'm kinda shocked that this even exists.  (2) You want me to rent Windows to play poker on seals with clubs?

sudo pacman -Sy virtualbox
sudo modprobe vboxdrv
virtualbox

Then  my image of "MicroXP".

Runs like a top.
on that line, you could upload somewhere MicroXP installed img? I was trying to install this in an Android emulator, but for some reason refused to install. From what Google told me i would need the hdd.img (qcow2) with xp already installed, basic qemu settings(qemu32 proc,sb16, cirrus and ne2k).
i had images of w98 and w95 that worked at an acceptable speed but no network access on w98 and im not sure if Swc soft compatible with that either.
Im not trying to be smart and stuff, just patient and..i can't do nothing about seals,so i trick myself into thinking that Micon&co will handle it right. What else one can do anyway?Only time will tell if they make it right or wrong.

Agree, I can certainly install virtualbox on my debian system but I don't have any microsoft windows images lying around because I've never had any need for them.  I'm not sure if seals with clubs is worth installing windows over (even in a virtual machine).  I'd be tempted if someone has some sorta free windows image I should try.  I'm certainly not going to purchase anything.

And, btw, why on earth are we getting a windows client before getting browser play up and working.  browser is obviously cross platform and usable by anyone anywhere.  windows is apparantly still used by some people but ...

Did these guys hire some kinda .NET C# developers or something?  What happened here?

Windows is used by most people.

They got this software because it was good and you can play all the games on it.  The only drawback is it's only windows.  They will have to develop browser and other platforms themselves.
