Man, what happened to all the traffic on this site, used to busy all the time

SWC team should do something to bring the site back as it was before

This criticism is deserved and accurate.
SwC Poker is in a build phase to fix our issues and restore traffic.
We have deployed resources to address our issues and have laid plans to attract new players.
We expect a timetable measured in months to show improvement.
If our site is not good enough for you to play today, we understand and hope you will check back in a few months.
If our current state of the site is acceptable to you for play, we hope you will join us for cash games & our marquee tournaments of the week, The Medium BTC, starting soon:

guess who's back
Man, what happened to all the traffic on this site, used to busy all the time

well things change my friend but hopefully SWC will get their traffic back soon

regarding the Krill thing , I would really prefer a cashable krills system where you can exchange your krills for poker tickets or bitcoin or any other thing ( lottery tickets maybe  Shocked ) and the bigger you exchange the higher you get
SWC team should do something to bring the site back as it was before

Comparing Stars (pre-Amaya) and SWC is comparing apples and oranges. The main point being Stars used dealt rake, and AFAIK, SWC uses contributed rake. Therefore, they're not even in the same universe, let alone dimension, so let's not waste any more time on that.

The main problem with the VIP system, imho, is that there's no guaranteed value for your time. I never liked the fact that krill value was based on having to find the time to play a freeroll, and then running well/cashing high enough to get x amount of value for your time/krill. If you didn't cash, your krill was worthless. If you won a few of the larger krillrolls, then you had great perceived value for your krill.

I suggested that SWC implement a system like some other sites, where you can trade krill for tournament tickets or for bitcoin, at a below market rate. Your overall krill count would not reset, as it would still be an indicator of your rakeback level, but your total available krill could be spent, like FPP's, FTP's, etc.

While I agree that table starter rakeback is a nice thing, I always believed it was meant to be a way to start action, not as a way to game the RB system, which is pretty much what it has become. And while SWC does have some low rake structures, that shouldn't be perceived as receiving the equivalent of 50% rakeback since rakeback is based on what the site makes off of you, and you get a percentage of that back. If I don't pay any rake, I'm not receiving 50% of anything, therefore no value.

While I don't see any change in the overall rake structure happening at SWC, I suggested that they split the current leader board into multiple leader boards, one mid-high stakes, one low-to mid stakes. Leave the top 5 spots on the current leaderboard, then move the remaining prize pool and scale a leader board for micro/low stakes players. This actually encourages players who normally don't have a shot at the current leader board, because they don't play mid to high stakes mixed games for hours, to one, table start, and two, not leave the table when a fourth player sits down.

These were just some of my suggestions that were either shot down, dismissed, or completely ignored. As a realist, I understand that implementing even the smallest change in current systems could possibly require a whole rework of code, and therefore I don't expect anything to happen in the near future, if at all. But I believe the above suggestions would help to improve both new player traffic, and current player retention.

Edit - Need more info about fresh krill. It would depend on the value of the "fresh krillrolls" and the amount of krill required/amount of days valid to determine if had any value. How about some 'old krillrolls'? You know, krillrolls for players with x amount of krill and accounts older than 2 years? You know, for still tolerating SWC and all it's feet-dragging? I'd even clear out some time to make it a point to play it. Smiley

Regarding lluboski's statements about Krill, we recently discussed ways to expand the program to address that very issue - rewarding current players. The idea of "Fresh Krill" came about, whereby players would need a certain amount of "Fresh Krill" to enter certain KrillRolls. "Fresh Krill" would be Krill earned in the last X days.
It is still in the discussion stage and any feedback or new Krill ideas are appreciated.

It is time for the Saturday 420.

What use is then krill to me? I am serious, what can i use these points for or are they really just like a bar in any video game that do not mean anything.

Krill is valuable at every level:
- If you are a mid stake or high stakes cash player, Krill Rakeback is your best value.
- (Table Starter 50% Rakeback is an even bigger value, but that is active for all players regardless of Krill)

If you are a low limit player, KrillRolls are your best value:
- Today, if you have 1000+ Krill, we offer a 25 chip KrillRoll.
- Tomorrow, if you have 2500+ Krill, we offer a 50 chip KrillRoll.
- If you do not have that much Krill, Monday offers you a 3 chip KrillRoll only requiring 10+ Krill. Tuesday offers a 5 chip requiring 50+ Krill. As the week goes forward the KrillRolls get more valuable and require more Krill to enter.

The Krill program may offer other incentives in the future as it has in the past. Site traffic dictates what we can offer back to our players. Resources have been deployed to greatly improve the platform. We intend to expand the Krill program in the future to make it even more rewarding to players as the site grows.

I believe you are wrong. Krills has currently almost no value and there is no reason believe that will change anytime soon.
There is really no incentive for players to play except for a few who has a chance in Krillrace

Why don't you reward players who actually playing on SWC now? I would really like to know.

This is my post from 2 years ago. I believe I was correct that time.
 https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10767975

The whole krill system is design reward legacy players, but there is nothing for players who generate rake for SWC now.
If you implement something like I suggested 2 years ago you may be surprised  how responsive payers can be.

SWC need new players and to keep them you need to give them something to look forward.

Has anyone tried using an app like Crossover for mac to play the windows software for Swc ? Mine loads fine but keeps crashing after 2 minutes into the game for some reason.Would be interested in hearing what works for you guys.

I have used wine in the past. Always fails to connect to the server. It just stays offline after the app is launched. I think the only way to play this on a mac would be to have the Bootcamp installed windows.

I can confirm that only VirtualBox (or some other VM) works on Linux.

Actually I only tried Wine and not CrossOver (which should have better support), but still VM seems only reliable choice. I wonder if the paid support of CrossOver could help with logs.

So I cant do anything with my krill? anything really? Not even use it as a ticket or token for tournament or whatnot?

I enjoyed it here, but no value vip program with hope that only if you make a leaderboard you get paid? seems absurd.

Krill is valuable at every level:
- If you are a mid stake or high stakes cash player, Krill Rakeback is your best value.
- (Table Starter 50% Rakeback is an even bigger value, but that is active for all players regardless of Krill)

To add to what SwC said about KrillRolls that are free to enter, there are also OverKrill tournaments throughout the week that require various levels of Krill to enter.

The prize pools vary depending on the game type - which rotate to give each level a chance at playing different games - but the basic idea is a small buy in with a larger than normal prize pool.

There's a good chance the tournament will overlay, but even the times it doesn't the prize pool is larger than normal and there is no rake.

Right now the best values are the:

♣ 5 chip buyin NLH OverKrills with a 350 GTD prize pool that require 1.25k Krill to enter

♣ 1 chip buyin with a 100 GTD on Sundays that only requires 250 Krill

♣ 2 chip buyin 100 GTD Fish Fry on Wednesdays that only requires 5 Krill

Also, to add to the talk about rakeback... don't forget that even before Krill or Tablestarter rakeback everyone is pretty much automatically getting the equivalent of 50% RB on other sites because SwC's rake is at least half that of the industry standards.

Thank you for the information. What excatly do you mean when you say "3 chip KrillRoll", is this like a tournament that i buyin with my krill and prizes are actually mBTC?
Yes, the 3 chips is 0.003 BTC, which is total prize fund for the krill roll.  You do not have to "buyin" or spend your krill, you just need to be at that level of krill to enter.  So if you have 25 Krill now, and there is a 3 chip KrillRoll that requires 10+ Krill to enter, you will be able to enter, and you will still have 25 Krill.  Your Krill never goes down.

KRILL

I'm pretty new, but I've already been able to play a tourney with my krill, I'm obviously not on the leaderboard, but it looks a good aspiration.

I found the table starter bonus really good, too.

I hear what you're saying BangBoomerang and if an Android client brings more players, they might bring back krillrolls with a decent prize.  There were a few years that I was Supernova on Pokerstars. Even though the fpps were great and brought me a ton of cash, I would have traded it for 50 percent rakeback when playing shorthanded. I mainly played hu on Stars. Anyway, you can't beat the rakeback here but I hope they bring back krillrolls back when they can afford to given more promo cash out.

how can you say that vip program is as good as starts ever was? on pokerstars I used to save my FPP (frequent player points) and exchange them either for money, tickets or other stuff they offered in their stacked up VIP store. What about here? If I am not a table starter I just get nothing? Well I do get krill anyways but what can i use it for? Lets assume I dont start tables and I do not make weekly or monthly or whatever leaderboards. What use is then krill to me? I am serious, what can i use these points for or are they really just like a bar in any video game that do not mean anything.
