I may write code in exchange for bitcoins.
The ideal situation will be when SwC has Windows, Android, Mac, Linux, and browser versions.  It should make it easy for anyone who wants to play.  But getting a poker server that was written to operate with a Windows client to communicate with each of those in a reliable and secure manner is apparently more of a challenge than we thought.

This is a classic mistake and if these were the early 2000s, we'd say okay.  Windows hegemony used to rule and people used to use windows.  No doubt a few people still do this.  But seriously, in these days of android, linux servers, OSX, iphone, etc you really can't target a produce at a windows architechture and expect to work out from there because, for one thing, we all know that windows doesn't play nicely with standards.  That's their MO.

I hope you're right.  I miss playing poker on my bus (sad 2015 so far).

Never ending parties are what Im into.
I also don't understand why a browser based app is what people want. I love this poker client like I loved the old Party Poker and the Pokerstars client. I think the SWC software is even faster and more fun.  I understand the need for Android though. Hope that helps bring more action.
I think as long as SWC is not considering browser based app. no serious BTC poker player will give their current app. a try.

This. Also think the bitcoin poker scene is smaller than before.

I don't think a browser-based app is a huge thing to make or break the site. I personally prefer the real software myself. Though I do agree that it helps bring people that otherwise wouldn't play.

And the poker scene is definitely a lot smaller, mostly due to the massive amount of scams/issues with Bitcoin lately. Keep in mind a lot of the poker players were previously fiat-based, so it's hard to keep converting people to Bitcoin with the current ecosystem.

The web based version is easier for developers to set up than making a downloadable version for mac users and such. Online poker is dwindling,so how is bitcoin poker doing?
Imagine how much greater it could be if every one could play! Sadly those days are closing rapidly for some sites and I believe Seals may be left behind if other sites wake up and push poker more. Nitro could for sure make that push, sure betcoin could aslo. Look at other sites dropping off left and right as well.
Ive been waiting what 9 months now? Something like that,so yeah I am getting a little tired of coming in and checking up.
Hopefully it comes around but I dont even know if my account is there.

With 189 players connected, SwC Poker is currently a bit smaller than Seals was.

Blame it on the windoze Smiley

anyway, when we build out our platform and fix our bugs, these games will fill up.

Remember table starter rakeback is on for all games, 6max+.  Playing 2 or 3 handed gets you auto-50% rakeback, so that is a proper incentive to help me start some games until we have all clients & the affiliate program.

I respectfully disagree. I do start tables and so does "whodisis" but there is not much interest from others players to join. if we can get going one table for the particullar stakes,it's a good result and it will fell apart usually within hour.

189 players is about 1/2 of the players that played on old Seals, but the number of players on ring games is not even close 1/2 old Seals cash games players.
Aso I don't think windoze only is responsible for so big drop.
If you reinstate old krillrolls, I bet most of the players who played them on old Seals will come play the krillroll and then go back where the action is. (not on SWC)
The result will be SWC slowly bleed bitcoin reserves, because SWC will not collect enough rake.

I believe "whodisis" has a valid point and you should give his idea serious consideration. Try it for a month and see what happen. I am not suggesting
krill race, just something like 1 weekly krillroll for anybody who collect 100 or 200 krill for the time period.

I know your main focus is still on a software, but give it some thought.

Any reason why "u@ SWC" did think that reinstate old krillrolls is better incentive?

What about an update on the android client?

Yes.  Tell us something.  estimated percent completion, major milestones completed, or estimated completion date

Saying nothing leads some people to conclude that nothing is being done.

Pretty sure that is the case.

It's not, but we're not in the business of giving timeframes any longer. Stuff takes longer than would be desirable. Significant parts of existing things get rewritten along the way in ways that you can't see, and it's a more intensive effort than some people thought it would be. Welcome to the world of software. It sucks. We're hoping to have more info soon.

Letting us know that something is happening is better than saying nothing.  I'm glad to hear you're still working on it.  Eventually I hope to rejoin seals, but I just can't be bothered to fuck with WINE.  Here's to hoping you get some sorta cross-platform solution before the end of 2015!

Looking forward to that "more info" when you have it!

I accept that.  Good to hear that you are working on it.

An android app is part of the success equation for Bitcoin poker, but you knew that already.

Usually people can give a time frame, though. Even brand new MMORPGs (which take years to develop) can give times as to when they'll be finished and ready to launch, :p.

MMORPGs are large studio affairs whose development is backed by millions of dollars in investment. They pay individual developers more than our entire staff.

Many players still don't understand the action points in OFC.  They play with a short stack, and if they hit fantasyland, they have very little action left.  They win much less than they think they are supposed to, and think it's a software glitch.  As a result, these players may stop playing, and that's bad for the games.

Perhaps there could be a pop-up briefly explaining that you can't win more than your starting stack on any given hand, and that fantasyland counts as part of the same hand that qualified for it.   This can show when someone joins a Chinese table, and of course a check box to stop showing the message to those who have seen it.

I thought you had to have x amount to join (like, say, at least the maximum you can lose), a lot like hold'em (where you can't just join with half a big blind).
