Collusion is detectable by all internet poker sites.  They have access to everyone's hole cards for every hand, so any player who plays with a knowledge of more than their own cards is very noticeable.  The other indicator is unjustified whip-saw raises.  The sites have scripts to flag questionable play.  They can run them continuously, randomly, or when someone reports a suspicion.  The evidence lasts for as long as the site does.

Live poker collusion is much more difficult to detect.  The evidence goes into the muck, and is gone.

Was just interested to know that have there been any reports of successful collusion on swc in the past? And how are we supposed to catch people while colluding? Also, at what time of the day is staff most likely to be online(so that they can keep an eye on cheaters)?

I'd think it would be hard to stop. I could get online with a friend from Canada and one from Europe (I'm from the U.S.) and we could collude over Skype, for example. I'm really not sure how that could be stopped. It's one of the downsides to online poker.

Pretty sure jamatrix aidsing up the .25 .50 with his buddy defo working together doesn't look like anything will be done as person posing as jammatrix still playing. Such a shame. Then to make it look good after 2 weeks of squeezing and making you commit to the hand pre flop they play hu lolz. Sure guys.

What does site do with people it deemes to have cheated and with their funds? Old site gave back to players does the new version put in its own pockets?  Blatant cheating going on at plo(potlimit) 50 can't see a flop unless you commit  your stack pre flop going on for last 2 weeks with particular players driving this horse. I would like to know what site does with people it catches cheating and more importantly with any funds they have in their accounts.

Yes, and on the UB website it said "Your funds are safe!"  I'm not saying that there is (or that there is not) multiaccounting going on, I'm saying that as a serious player it concerns me and I'd like to know what they are doing to prevent it/stop it.  If, for example, people have gotten refunds from people who were caught that would be a good sign to me.

I mean they dont care if someone cheats with mutliaccounting. multi accounting on SWC is normal.

Just to clarify, I'm talking about one person playing multiple accounts in the same MTT or ring game.  If this is normal and allowed on the site I have no clue why anyone would play there.

I may write code in exchange for bitcoins.
Letting us know that something is happening is better than saying nothing.  I'm glad to hear you're still working on it.  Eventually I hope to rejoin seals, but I just can't be bothered to fuck with WINE.

The problem with Wine is it's very finicky about what it supports and will break version to version even if you tweak it to work half-reliably.

VirtualBox or some other virtual machine solution works fine, though, and is what I've been doing since shortly after the site opened.

That doesn't work for me because my computer is a 4 year old ACER ASPIRE 10 inch laptop with an early 2 core AMD APU.  Ie, a low powered machine which has great battery life and works wonderful to run debian with LXDE, but start up a VM and try run WINDOZE and you may as well go make a cup of coffee every time you touch the mouse while you wait to see the screen register it.

I saw someone, in open chat, make a cold offer to buy someone else's account.  The account he wanted to buy had less krill than the account he was on.  Could someone explain to me why someone would do that if not for nefarious purposes?  Does SWC have systems in place to prevent/catch people multiaccounting?  Has anyone ever been caught multiaccounting?

As far as I know multi-accounting is not an issue on SWC.

I guess my question would be, how do you know that?  Does SWC have systems and policies in place to look for, catch, and punish people who are multiaccounting?  Or are you saying that you trust the racist, homophobic anonymous strangers that you play against to not do anything unethical?

There's probably a bunch of scripts running to catch those behaviours. Nothing incredibly developed like at Pokerstars, but they should be good enough to do the job.

Never ending parties are what Im into.
Some guys flip accounts around for different reasons. Some to use against a reg that will think its a unknown. Others to sell to other players and some for scamming or cheating.
Seals is one site you have to watch how people are playing. If it looks like a guy is reopening the pot from late position for a early position to raise and it happens over and over, run!

Many players still don't understand the action points in OFC.  They play with a short stack, and if they hit fantasyland, they have very little action left.  They win much less than they think they are supposed to, and think it's a software glitch.  As a result, these players may stop playing, and that's bad for the games.

Perhaps there could be a pop-up briefly explaining that you can't win more than your starting stack on any given hand, and that fantasyland counts as part of the same hand that qualified for it.   This can show when someone joins a Chinese table, and of course a check box to stop showing the message to those who have seen it.

I thought you had to have x amount to join (like, say, at least the maximum you can lose), a lot like hold'em (where you can't just join with half a big blind).

Example:  Someone was sitting with 43 points worth of chips.  He made Fantasy Land and won 38 points total from his two opponents.  Since the best you can do is double up on any given hand, and FL counts as part of the same hand as the one that qualified you for it, he only has 5 points left to win.  We play the FL round and he wins his 5 points.  Then he says "there must be a glitch, I should have won 30+ points there", and leaves.

I think as long as SWC is not considering browser based app. no serious BTC poker player will give their current app. a try.

This. Also think the bitcoin poker scene is smaller than before.

I don't think a browser-based app is a huge thing to make or break the site. I personally prefer the real software myself. Though I do agree that it helps bring people that otherwise wouldn't play.

And the poker scene is definitely a lot smaller, mostly due to the massive amount of scams/issues with Bitcoin lately. Keep in mind a lot of the poker players were previously fiat-based, so it's hard to keep converting people to Bitcoin with the current ecosystem.

Actually, BB app. is a great deal for couple of reasons:
  • Regardless of players OS, they can play poker anywhere anytime
  • The main reason players prefer to play BTC poker is due to its anonymously. Installing an app. is against this, and you are simply giving the coder the opportunity to have access not only to your identity also all other private things. And if you are ok with that, there are lots of other safe and more reliable poker rooms which you can download their app. and start playing. (Poker app. is just a front end to show you the cards, all the shuffling, hand evaluating and etc. are done backend, so always ask this simple question why their app. is not open-source?)
