Why won't anyone deny or confirm then that Brandon Casten is possibly the new owner of swcpoker or always was a partner? Maybe no association at all?

Why won't you gag on an enormous dick until your eyes roll back in your head?

Micon is currently not a site pro. To my knowledge his bail/probation conditions will bar him from interaction with any online gaming site. None of us currently involved in SwC operations are facing any prosecution, you have nothing to worry about on this front.

Our client is completely safe.

Yes.  A short list:

  • People involved with operating the site should not be publicly identified
  • People involved with operating the site should avoid travel to Nevada
  • People involved with operating the site should never bring electronic devices into Nevada

I've tried to check back in to swcpoker.  I find only a windows client available that I have to run as administrator.

I've played a lot there in the past.  But I have no first hand knowledge about what is really going on there.  This is not an accusation but only how I think:

The last news I had about Micon he was facing prosecution.  While I think this is wrong in every way, it still triggers a honeytrap alert in my mind.

I hope my fears are wrong.  And I'm really writing this in hopes that someone will prove they are.  I want to play!

I'm so sad that there is probably no way to prove this.  But a safer client might help me assume the risk.

Don't talk about Nevada like if it was a piece of cake, it's still with laws
By the way, see you on the tables guys, while I'm not taking the sun.

It wasn't even the feds.  It was Nevada.  And they basically accepted a pretty weak plea deal that didn't even get Micon in jail.

No seriously, people loves the sun.

Yeah that is true, online poker always takes a dip in the summer.

Even for myself, I want to play... but during the day when it's so nice out it's tough to stay inside on a computer.  I don't usually start playing until later as it gets dark.

There are people playing ring games though.  Sometimes it ebbs and flows... I've gone from nobody playing to a few full tables in 10 minutes, and then a few people leave and it slows down for awhile.

It usually only takes 2 or 3 players willing to play to get multiple tables going.  Once people start joining and requesting action it brings in more players off the sidelines.

Micon has already made a deal, he is no longer facing prosecution.

As far as honeypot, why would it be given the fact that whenever the USA goes after any gambling site they never go after the players?

What nioc said.

No players of poker sites have been targeted before.  When the DOJ stopped Pokerstars and Full Tilt in 2011 they not only didn't go after the players, they helped the players get paid.

And there would be no reason to target players because playing online poker is not illegal.

I don't think that there's some kind of federal agent usa honeypot in the seals client, but you're absolutely right that running executables that you can't see the code to on Windows is really dangerous.  The best you could do is use some kind of virtual machine.   I can't do this because my laptop is too crappy to run more than one one OS at a time Smiley

I think a lot of players will return when they get a safer client.

Why is it that when I sit out at a mix game...at a table that isn't even full...I get picked up after three minutes, but someone can sit out for going on 20 minutes now at a full OFC game and isn't getting picked up?

if u have an incoming deposit it doesnt kick you off the table

I am not sure how true that is. I don't see it being posted anywhere and haven't heard anyone talk about it. Picking up players off a full table isn't a bad thing as it does unblock seats for players wanting to play,  and it is also not needed for games with still empty seats, A good thing would be to email their support about it . I don't think they are much active here.

So someone can send a deposit with no fees and table block for days on end, but I can't go to the bathroom without getting picked up from a half full table?  Seems like something that maybe should be changed up a little bit.

"Betcoin" is a larger poker room because they have affiliation with other poker room, where mostly they do pay in USD that's the reason you see a lot of players.

Isn't it working with wine? I don't think that client is so complicated to make it work...

I haven't tried it with wine.  I generally have a distaste for wine as it installs a whole bunch of packages on my computer and then runs terribly slowly on my already crappy hardware.  Wine is sorta like a last resort for me, as I said I don't even keep it installed.  I don't know if anyone else has tried it with wine and had success.  If someone out there has tried this and can say that it worked for them, that would make me slightly more interested in trying it out (so that hopefully I wouldn't have to install all of those wine packages just to find that it doesn't work on wine).

Sadly it doesn't work with wine, lobby shows up for a split second, then it crashes with this error:
Code:
err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception code c0000005 flags 0 addr (nil)

Maybe there is a trick to get it working, pokerstars works so good with wine :/

Think seh means "seals error handling?"  Thanks for trying this, if you hear anything from the devs and you get it working, let me know.  I might be convinced to give wine a try myself if at least one other person has succeeded.
