I just got off the phone with UPS. The lady told me that the shipment is very (very) unlikely to be delivered today (Germany) and I shall take this up with KNC (which I just did). The sender is the only one able to get UPS to investigate the issue. She said it seems the paperwork got shipped but the actual boxes were left behind.

It's sad that KNC has not already responded to the issue (it's noon in Sweden). Their decision to not sending the upgrades out Friday will result in half a week of lost mining. All I can say to this (from the bottom of my heart) is: Thank you SO much KNC. You really, REALLY rock. This is by far the fairest solution for all miners.

Totally unrelated: Congrats to those who decided not to trust KNC with the delivery and pick the boards up locally. I should have done the same.

Yep, that plane ticket to Stockholm - best purchase ever  Grin
My upgrade modules have been mining for the past 18 hours:

Because this is KnC's fault, how?! ALL boxes were collected by UPS yesterday. They took them all in plastic packaging crates. UPS arrived here at 4pm. The boxes were ready, so no delay from us whatsoever.

I can confirm this. Saw them leaving by the hundreds with at least 3 UPS guys and many plastic boxes Grin

Good morning folks.
Hope everyone gets good news today on their packages...  Wink
If not, read this..... it will make you smile...

a cool mil a coin.... wow, that's quite an estimate...... lol

From the link above

Now that’s what I call a tail-risk option. It’s either worth zero or it’s worth a truly outstanding
amount of money.

yeah right 3.3 million a coin (would be nice thou)

yeah from the above quote...but then again with everyone on here hyping the coin ..it may likely be worth zero some day....of course the odds...I'm just going from the point of view of the odds of my 21 coins being 21 million are small to say the least......(we are talking about ME actually picking the right horse and the right time to bet on something don't ya know)

good read thou...will keep me entertained till the "alien overloads" invade the planet (same odds) of 3.3 million a coin

For anything related to politics, that was pretty interesting.

Basically, they don't want bitcoin to be used to fund terrorism or buy drugs.

Otherwise, they seemed quite interested in it's potential for innovation.

You need to read between the lines.   What i took from it was..  It's fine as long as we have a the right to cease funds, and every exchange muh collect personal details, same as a bank.

I guess people only heard what they wanted to here!  crypto will carry on regardless
What I got "Between the lines" Is that they want traceability, and identity; they were promised that....end of story.
Look for a huge jump in BTC price now! Wow.

So they want traceability.  Now that's fair enough, but that then makes my bitcoin have a little more in common with my credit card.

Lets be honest the anonymity of crypto is the main selling point.

But regardless back on topic!

Shouldn't comment on non-topic I know, but personally what sold me on Bitcoin was that there is a fixed number of coins and that won't change come hell or high water.  I see exec's getting million dollar bonuses and the cost on to consumers up to their necks in debt - so those bonuses are debtors tomorrow's money today, expanding the money supply.  Every year the dollar gets less valuable.  Those that get the million dollar bonuses don't care, it's in their favor.  Versus the dollar Bitcoin is going to rise, period.

Wonder if the ignore button works both ways.  Would be a calming effect if it did.  Ignore a user and neither sees any of the others posts.

Even if we do ignore you and you ignore us -- the completely irrelevant posts pile up.

There are other forums for the type of discussion you want to hold.

Even feel free to invite us -- and if it's interesting enough we will dive in.

In a sense I feel your pain.  When I see users trading barbs about almost anything it can get rather windy in here with some posts having a wall of text.  When I see these I often see many users I ignored and know I was right in not wanting to have their spew before my eyes.

Insight and understanding are the first steps on the path of attainment...  Wink

I must meditate on the price of Bitcoin and the success of this venture.

Saying that what Bitcoin needs right now is stability

Like many here said, this convo is alive in other threads but to help soy out a bit just know that stability isn't something that magically happens.  Things like carry trades, liquidity, larger float are vital for true price discovery.  Bitcoin lacks in all of these currently which will lead to major volatility when big enough tides roll in...and out.

Dunno, I don't think you heard everything. They did mention the possibility of collecting personal data, but also
"Maybe we should just leave it (Bitcoin) alone."  Senator Heitkamp

Even Schumer, who ordered the silk road arrest, said this, which is fairly positive.
"I do not want to shut down or shut out Bitcion. It has profound and exciting implications for financial services."  Sen Chuck Schumer

It seemed to go well. I think when Gallippi mentioned that the US wasn't even in the top 6 of btc exchanges, their ears perked up quite a lot. And when he said China were No. 1  Grin

Anyway, off topic, just thought I'd mention it in this thread. Plenty of discussion in the wall observer thread. And the revelation of who Satoshi really is Wink

@ joeventura

One reason is easy access to the top and bottom of running modules.

@ bobsag3

The PCB/case has 75x75mm holes and standoffs.
This is Intel LGA 1155 pattern.
The thermal xfer area of the ASIC pkg is ~40x40mm.
The distance between the VRM's is ~85mm.
Don't forget the VRM's need good airflow.

The PCB corner holes are same as a 120mm fan.
Somebody @ KnC did good with the mechanical dimensions!

@ Biffa

Agree, Water is the choice for thermal reasons alone.
Water also has a cleanup advantage.

I was thinking about doing like your mounting (upside down) with a fan blowing up onto the VRM's where the HS is. + 2 240 rads for a jupiter... should do well with the overclocking in the november units.

Ok, in between the complaining and stressing and accusing, can someone tell me the process that lets you know when your miner is going to ship.   First, it says paid.  Then what?
Thanksgiving is coming, so this 5-10 day delay could actually be VERY expensive for americans.
first you get "in progress" means in the queue for assembly/manufacture
then "shipped" means made, your customer wallet info has been flashed and the address label printed and applied. Basically awaiting UPS pick-up.
the tracking id will then come once UPS is in possession and en route...
Just to be anal.
In Process is what I am waiting for now.   So, that happens when?   At the point they send the UPS labels to the contract manufacturer?  Does that mean it could be days "in process"
or only hours?

Means the customer file is no longer in the hands of KnC and is registered on the factories database for assembly. When they receiver the delivery of blank PCBs they can begin to mount the components, etc. ASICs are sitting there waiting.
