Stock PSU cables aren't not, let me repeat, ARE NOT pretty high-end cables. They don't even start to come close. You need to buy 16AWG cables from this guy. http://www.shakmods.com/shop&&#!/~/product/category=3316088&id=37642162

Those are "HIGH-END" cables. The fact that the cables started to melt at the cube end suggests they were plugged in correctly or they simply are cheap quality cables.

Seasonic PSUs are pretty high end in terms of quality.  I am pretty sure the PCIe cables on these 1250W units are 16AWG.  They are really thick.  I don't think the issue here is with the wires.  I still have a bunch of Neptune cubes using Seasonic 1250W PSUs for months without any signs of burning but this Titan cube has burn marks after just 5 days of mining.  I am certain that everything was plugged in correctly.  Because of all the issues people have had with their Neptune's, I triple check all my connections when I set up equipment.  Requiring third party cables and terminals is silly.  They really should have provided the PSUs and cabling if they were going to go out of standard spec considering how much customers paid for these miners.

Now I smell rat over there, I would recommend people to ask KnCminer to attach testing report with our Titans.

In formal way, they should attach FQC report and Kurt or one of his team member have to sign signature to take responsibility of quality, that will show us their professional!

Has there been any indication yet of when the compensation Neptunes are going to be shipped?

(The extra/duplicate Neptunes for the first and second batch buyers...)

They will probably ship compensation Neptunes when they have a new 10nm miner. They will  clear out the dator hall of old Neptunes and ship them as compensation units. Got to make space for the new miner.

I find it awfully peculiar that they'd go against standard electrical practices with that single connector design. They're not dumb. There's an old phrase, if it's too coincidental, it's not coincidental.

The only question is, what's the gain for them purposefully using a single connector? It would have to be a really good gain because it would likely nail them in the foot from future orders en-masse. First thing which comes to my mind, speculating, is that it delays/limits the rampup of nethash.

Then there's cloudhashing, is it tied in a way to shift thought toward cloud hashing?

Who knows..

No. It means KnC can't design for shit.

Good to see you~

I guess my #21xxx order will postpone till November, hope they solve most issue then~

Hey Edgar is a hero now !

Poodle - fat chance …. it shouldn't take a team of embedded systems engineers a week to issue a firmware release to fix a couple of 'little problems'.

You gotta wonder if there isn't some kind of ASIC issue going on ...

KNC has stated when the batch 3's are shipping our 2nd Neptune's will ship. Right now Batch 3's aren't shipping yet.

Let's face facts...

The single power connector on the Titans and Neptune is just a big "fuck you" to customers. They are fully aware that the designs needed a minimum of two connectors to function safely and reliably. And adding a second connector would have cost pennies.

They purposely designed them to operate poorly to punish us just like they didn't bother to attach heat sinks on the FrankenJups knowing full well that they wouldn't survive shipping. No one is that incompetent!

It's all in the KNC business plan. Every miner they ship reduces the income from their farm. Every miner that breaks down increases the income from their farm.
Wouldn't the Neppys in their farm be subject to the same issue and hence break down at the same rate?

Good point! But has anyone seen close up photos of the Neptunes in their datacenters? I wouldn't be surprised if they had two connectors, lol.

KNC released a photo of the prototype Neptune board (on their forum) months before they shipped the first units. I commented on the single connector and thought it was ridiculous not to have two. And I have absolutely zero experience in that area, yet even I knew better. Surely they should have foreseen problems with the design and had it corrected before they started shipping. To me, it seems like there is no other excuse than maliciousness.

unless they get the Titan's out the door I don't think much is gonna happen and the fact the Titan's don't
seem to work (even thou KNC says little problems and great success) I'd not be to hopeful in that they
have imho limited employees a 5 day work week behind..and probably again imho have to clear out the
Titan's first

ie bottleneck

if the raspberry Pi is not up to running the Titan and/with firmware issues this could take a month or more imho

fun fun
