Clueless!
December 23, 2013, 08:13:40 PM
I will be optimistic and say that Neptune will be 5TH/s.
For 0.10BTC a day we need a difficulty of 25 billion.
25 billion difficulty = 179PH/s = 35800 Neptunes.

With batches of 1200 that seems highly unlikely even with all the competition around.

I wouldn't count on Neptunes being 5 TH/s. Cooling that beast would be crazy.

I wouldn't count on HashFast not shipping. And Cointerra not shipping. And Black Arrow not shipping. And BitMine not shipping. And BFL not ship...wait, you can count on BFL not shipping.

yeah my point....hashfast and cointerra get up to speed what middle of feb/march at best?....BFL if they have their act together only 3 months late (march/april) ...KNC early as usual (march/april) black arrow already says march/april

and yeah I was thinking maybe KNC would up it to 3.5th...4th at a streach

(i'm as jumpy as an old maid....waiting for the sailors to hit port...its the 'waiting' arggggh...)

yeah this is getting interesting....with cointerra and hashfast prob trickling out till say march/april....BFL being say 3 months late...KNC being early..this stuff could all dump in march/april prob the same week with my luck

what we looking at for Neptune batch 1's    0.1 btc a day?.....

not trying to be doom and gloom here....but whats the MATH (i'm  doofus at math) ..better minds then me opinions?

um. one page back.. it's unofficial. honestly i would caution till maybe the full version hits. switched back to .99-tuning where I was getting rock solid 284 Gh/s.. still haven't broken 279 Gh/s after about 45 min from switching to the unofficial 99.1-tune to the 99-tuning. I might have to do a reboot.

Upgrading to the latest firmware (99.1-tune), both the October & November boxes initially increased about 10-15 gh/s.  Initially it did not work on BitMinter.  I got the "connecting to cgminer api fail."  So, i switch to Eligius and my hash rate increased.  After about 30 minutes, it's slowly dropping to the way was before the update.

The shipping cost to us will need to be paid by customer and we will pay for the shipping cost back. Please declare value as 1000 US dollar."

........Not only do they want me to pay return shipping, but also to undermark the customs. Pretty sure its illegal to do that... not happy with a establish company asking me to do that.
[/quote]

Bobsag - for the customs declaration, one possibility is simply to state "return of non functioning device to manufacturer" or some such wording. As a broken machine is worth a lot less than a functioning one, as long as you state this or the equivalent, I don't think you will be underdeclaring the value. Actually other than perhaps for insurance purposes (maybe $1000 is the value of the rest of the parts, or that KNC would like as the insurance value?) there is no reason not to simply state "NCV" (no commercial value). So I think you should be fine with stating the $1000....

Hope this helps. Good luck with the rest!

I dropped a good 4-5 Gh/s with 99.1-tune, from the last .99-tuning FW. October Saturn.
just fyi.
Not sure if bert mod works with this one?. I haven't gotten any warning for cores off/on via Putty.
So I'm going back for now. Wink

I'm back! Briefly. Who could resist these developments?  Grin

I refer everyone to my post yesterday.

I've been proven right before and I will be again. I'm confident, based on past performance and the attitude of greed and feeling no obligations towards their customers that is now plainly obvious, that this time round KNC's burning of it's customers is going to be epic. They get to spend your money, so it will be you that gets burned.

All the clues are their, the cracks in the foundation.

How correct was I? Just one day later it comes out what total scum knc are.

I said knc were another sleazy asic company and they prove it beyond doubt today. This is their t&c's:

Quote
Any return cost will be charged to the Purchaser, unless the return has been subject to the prior approval of KnCMiner.

They have approved/authorised the return but insist bobsag pays and commit a criminal offence by lying about how much it costs - to save them money! That's just plain GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDD. And total criminality. And shows no sense of obligation to their customers who funded them with millions. It's disgusting behaviour, from a disgusting company.

And I see shillorama's posted here a number of times since bob's post and doesn't even respond, pretends nothing happened. What a bunch of fucking criminal crooks knc are turning out to be.

And now they are hocking their $13 garbage for $10k? https://www.kncminer.com/products/neptune-second-batch
$ 9,995.00

You paid ... $13k... now it's 10k, because no one wants garbage from a bunch of crooks that will be totally useless when it arrives (faulty) in 6 months time  Grin

KNC - they are such a "good" and "reliable" company Cry

Can't wait for their January sale, where they will sell bobsag's broken $1000 machine to you for $6000!

Good luck to all you loyal knc customers who ordered a knobtune. You really are going to need it.

Too all you who with the sense NOT to order again from the money lovin' criminals - happy hashing in 2014!

DId you catch the insurance price they instruct people to use? $1,000. That means that's pretty much their inventory cost.

Gotta love padding.

This is for October boxes ONLY: http://bit.ly/1dyucXS

This is for November boxes ONLY: http://bit.ly/1d40PP0

Any changelog?
What's new?

Mainly the reduced hardware errors on Eligius and the inclusion of the latest release of CGMiner. TBH it's not a complete update, we wanted to give you somerthing by xmas. V isn't happy with labeling it as a complete release, but it's almost 8pm (not 7pm, damned machine clock, argh!!), as he is still to tackle something before he's entirely happy with calling it an update. It doesn't have the additional tuning kit mentioned prior. Mainly Nov boxes will see the greatest benefit.

In any case as always constructive feedback appreciated, enjoy! Happy Hols...ho ho ho!!

Thanks for the great Christmas present 'orama.  Grin
My November Jupiter is up 7GH/s at 677 and HW down to 0.7% after 35 minutes runtime.
I'll report back more tomorrow, but looking good so far!

The GE modules are rated for 40 Amps, but can safely be clocked above that. 64 Amps is the max where we feel comfortable clocking the VRMs to, and strongly advise against considering anything higher. Obviously pushing things too far reduces operational life expectancy, but if it's been included in an official firmware then be confident that we are comfortable releasing it as such.

A little bit ago on irc, hno stated that you should not go over 50A, or the stress can burn the board beyond repair, cause exploding capacitors, burned traces.

So I would want you to double check before anyone blows their unit up. While the tuning suite can go that high, it was also said it was an oversight and that it should not have been able to push the VRMs to that limit.

I can't install the new firmware...

Drops me an error message.

Same for somebody?

I have't tried yet, but maybe Bertmod is at fault.
Try to restart the miner and then flash it.
