What news we have about the 20nm miners?

Nothing and I doubt we'll have anything substantial for at least a couple of months.
Except that batch 3 is being sold right now... Sad

I have been running 6 Jupiters at btcguild for the past 4 weeks, before that I had Jupiters on Giga's pool and ghash (and I still have Jupiters on bitminter)

Btcguild's luck remains consistently at 103%+/-0.7 and is 103.02% at the moment. They have at least 99.9% uptime and have a semi private VIP server. They also report your past 24-hrs-income which you can compare to the calculator on bitcoinwisdom.

Btcguild has had >100% luck in say the last 8 weeks of organofcorti reports and has had higher luck than ghash every single week since ghash were included in the stats.

Btcguild pays out orphaned blocks also. No other pool I am aware of does.

Organifcorti's analysis is based on blocks solved by the pool (not blocks accepted to the blockchain) so if you consider a block reject rate of 1-2%, then the "0 fee pool" loses much advantage.
Quote
1.The "luck" calculation is based on the number of shares per solved block - not shares per block accepted by the network.
The uptime of the number 1 pool is probably 97% or so, where their 0% fee loses advantage.

http://organofcorti.blogspot.com.au/2013/12/december-22nd-2013-weekly-pool-and.html?m=1

I have 1 major concern: I want to be able to verify easily that in fact the pool luck is 103%, which can only happen by adding all proof of work for all solved block for the current difficulty and divide by the number of blocks.

In regards to no other pool paying for orphaned blocks: Bitminter pays too if you activate the Worker perk, which 1.5% on top of the 1% mandatory fee:

Immediate pay for bitcoin blocks. No waiting for 120 confirmations. No lost coins if the block is later orphaned. Note: does not apply to stale blocks.

I can't install the new firmware...

Drops me an error message.

Same for somebody?

I have't tried yet, but maybe Bertmod is at fault.
Try to restart the miner and then flash it.

Thanks Cyper but I don't use Bertmod. Tried to restart, then install. Nothing just an error message.

I let it run, don't mess with it. I like what I got. (990 at pool Smiley

I hope yours running fine too... Smiley

I just installed Bertmod and BFGminer is running just fine. Could't make it work with the manual install method posted by tolip.

But the disabled core message is different and if I understand correctly each of the 768 cores have a unique name:
Code:
KNC 3er: Disabled. 10 hwerr in 111.242 / 73.458 . disabled 10 s

is 3er the unique name for one of the cores?

Is there any new (EU) Neptune potential customers interested in - www.redstarmining.com - offering hosting in the US so you can avoid >20% import VAT.  Our electricity costs we pay are good too at =<$0.12 per kWh.  RSM is two years old in January so you don't have to worry about us running off in the night.  We don't have a offer price yet and was just initially gauging interest before we start the designs for our data-centre.

Eligius blows. Pay the fee and use The Guild. Nothing but bliss and payouts like clock work.

Why does Eligius blow? Just wondering its been better then the guild for me.

Because I think the payout system there blows and the stats/info you get back aren't nearly as informative as The Guild's.  I also like the manual payout feature which Eligius does not have. I've had good hash rate, but trying to get paid was another issue. So I went to the Guild and been paying fees ever since. Their dashboard and informative charts are at my finger tips and very clean and easily read.

Suckers everywhere,

Pay 3% for pretty colors and "quicker payouts" because you don't know how to use the "My Eligius" Features.

People are trying to maximize their money, if I had to pay a 3% fee I would have paid BTC Guild BTC16, I hardly believe their stats and manual payout feature is worth that.

Are we sure there isn't a placebo affect going on here with this unofficial firmware? I read one dude had to go back to the older version cause it was worse. Then others say hash rate is up. Maybe just because of the reboot? I'm using .99 firmware and rock steady on 561Gh/sec. It hasn't moved from there since I changed my power supply to the Corsair RM1000. I use to use the RM850, but that didn't have 4 PCI-E connections. The RM1000 has I think 6 of them. And of course it is silent. I'd love to keep mining but this damn bitcoin crash is driving me nuts. I do call it a crash since it was over $1000 not too long ago. Getting tired of seeing $650, either go up or down damn it!

Crash  Huh

When I bought my miners the price was $150 and I made plans to ROI in 6 months.
$1000 was too good to be true. $600 is fu**ing awesome. $300 would be great.

+1

I had similar estimates when I bought my Jupiter back in June

All depends on your perspective I guess. If you never had any dealing with bitcoin and weren't involved financially and saw one day it was $1200 and then two weeks later it was $600, that would be a crash. I always forget how much bitcoin was when I bought my October miner. I guess I'm just spoiled cashing on when it was $1000.

is your hash rate you state in cgminer or at pool (over 12 hours running) or both?

This is for October boxes ONLY: http://bit.ly/1dyucXS

This is for November boxes ONLY: http://bit.ly/1d40PP0

Any changelog?
What's new?

Mainly the reduced hardware errors on Eligius and the inclusion of the latest release of CGMiner. TBH it's not a complete update, we wanted to give you somerthing by xmas. V isn't happy with labeling it as a complete release, but it's almost 8pm (not 7pm, damned machine clock, argh!!), as he is still to tackle something before he's entirely happy with calling it an update. It doesn't have the additional tuning kit mentioned prior. Mainly Nov boxes will see the greatest benefit.

In any case as always constructive feedback appreciated, enjoy! Happy Hols...ho ho ho!!

Thanks Orama very thoughtful and nice xmas present to do a little tinkering with.  I'll update it now and report back after 12 hours of running it.

Merry Christmas to you, KNC team and all here on bitcointalk.
Cheers to all  Smiley

Quick update......
with new firmware kncminer-0.99.1-tune_October.bin in my October machine significant improvement, and looks with more time will be even better.

just a few minutes running and hash rate up 10GH/s and HW errors down only 1%..  will look better with more time
I report back in few hours, but looking great to begin with.

Thanks again
Cheers

results in after 22 hours running new October firmware.

hash rate has increased about approx 5GH/s from 548GH/s to 553GH/s
HW errors have also increased from 2.5% to 3.8%  (not big deal, see below)

but the biggest difference is the 12 hour hash rate at eligius has gone up from 540GH/s to 552.5GH/s and seems to reflect (more accurately) the average hash rate reported in cgminer

another noticeable difference is with the flush work, after detecting a new block doesn't seem to affect the hash rate as apposed to 0.95 firmware that I was running previously when flush work ran after new block was detected the rate dropped to nearly half.

another difference compared to 0.95 firmware is the power consumption increased from 570 watts to just over 650 watts (for me 0.95 firmware was most efficient than later firmwares)

Merry Christmas to all  Smiley
Cheers
