Our little 3Th/s rigs will be little plastic Hess trucks compared to the big ones in the real world.

Do you have any idea how much the difficulty needs to be in order for your words to turn true?

Here are some simple numbers for you:

For a 3TH/s machine to make 0.1BTC daily we need a difficulty of 15 billion.
A difficulty of 15 billion = 107374 TH/s
107374 TH/s = 35791 Neptunes

Another basic calculation:

If you take all the predicted/estimated ASIC pre-orders in this topic: 22117 TH/s
And multiply that by 5 just to be on the safe side = 110585 TH/s gets you a difficulty of 15.5 billion

Is that simple enough?

Oooh Cyper has developed a sting in his tail...

You still coming to the Expo?

Why do you need pictures even knc do not bother show new type, because there will be no more 28nm units Sad

Because I'm curious. And I want to see the new PCB design and the new Ericsson VRMs.

November Jupiters arrived today in the UK; orders in the 87## range.

One has a bad module, if it's connected the PSU trips out on a 1300 Watt EVGA supernova. If I connect it on it's own same happens, if I connect the other three modules they all work fine.

So bad module I guess, I've emailed support. Obviously this is not good as it'll have an effect on ROI.

One of the units is mine and the other my business partners so a bit awkward :-S

i had the same issue with one october jupiter until fw0.95 solved the problem.

WARNING it's reported that none of the old firmware works with the new Nov miners. You could brick the device using anything but the supplied firmware.

thank you for the usefull hint! very important!

Yes, I was there... lost almost a day of mining :/

But, there is a way to fix it, since even after flashing it keeps the needed files:
- login to your Jupiter by ssh
mount -t vfat /dev/mmcblk0p1 /mnt/1
mount -t vfat /dev/mmcblk0p2 /mnt/2
cp /mnt/2/initramfs.bin /mnt/1/initramfs.bin
shutdown -r now
- after it comes back up, if it still doesn't work, do an hard reset and power off/on and then it should finally work

Can you flash the module if the pcie cable isn't connected to it? if I connect it the whole thing refuses to power on?

Support will go through some troubleshooting steps but get an RMA organised and just ship the faulty module that way you should only be down 140G for the few days needed to turnaround the RMA

One thing to check is try plugging in one of the other boards into the cable of the faulty one just to rule out it's not the port on the beagleboard controller.

for the files:

My Nov. Jupiter just arrived today at 11am at my home (germany)
and hashing now at 658 GH/s. connected to a CoolerMaster M2 1000W PSU.

(all ventilators are maunted correct, packing was in well condition. Pool data was preconfigured to my Guild Account)
(no additional package Content , no bill, no Manual - nothing except the miner)

My OrderNr.: Order #856x  Status changed at saturday to : in Progress -> yesterday changed to Shipped (Payed)
UPS shipping mail was comming yesterday: advice to delivery today.

all was going fine!

So ..what we need to know now is why Nov boards are so much faster.
Thx for the info, good luck Smiley

November boards were redesigned. KNC saw all the mistakes on their original October boards, used us like ginney pigs, then applied those fixes to the November hardware. You'll still see people having problems and issues with their October hardware. Those first miners that KNC made were to be honest, made pretty bad. Temps all over the place, cores shutting down all day, just too much tweaking and attention something needs that usually is supposed to sit there with no intervention at all for months at a time. This is why I was also weary of their car priced Neptune rig. First people to get those will be the ginney pigs again I guess.
One of our modules in a Jupiter isn't functioning at all and it's a November unit.

1.  Previous orders were profitable by a large margin.

2.  A KNC miner is worth more after you get it, and can be sold for a profit.

3.  Mining is quickly becoming a commercial/professional affair.

4. It's time to stop whining and get serious... or shut up & forget about mining, because there is no better offers in the world than what KNC has right here.

-my 2 cents.  Wink

And that's where all the good times and fun get ripped right out of this "hobby" is when is becomes commercial/professional. And once BTC becomes profitable for the lazy politician they'll start slapping on the regulations, laws and policies like crazy and there won't be a damn thing we can do about it. You are either PRO commercialization or not. I guess you are. There are still people out here that hate big brother and how they slam down the control on everything once they start getting a piece of the pie. Right now there is probably a company building a small data center to hosting an entire pool by themselves. Our little 3Th/s rigs will be little plastic Hess trucks compared to the big ones in the real world. If you ordered a Neptune, you may as well sit back and relax and just watch things as they unfold and hope things go into your favor...and sabotage as many other companies as you can, cause that may be the only thing that could save your 10k.
