I diversified out a percentage of my holdings to Litecoin recently, when it was about the same price as your $80. I was very happy when it almost touched $100, but then realised the same would have happened if I held my Bitcoin. Then the big dipper happened.

Bitcoin seems to have recovered, but not Litecoin, unfortunately Sad But I still have strong faith in this unique alt. Now seems a good time to buy more, but I do want another alt to have in my portfolio.

Any ones are investing in litecoin for higher price in long time? I am thinking to move to btc instead of keeping my ltc? I bought ltc at $80 Sad(
You bought ltc almost on peak price nearly on 100 usd  and now you are already losing almost 50% on the money you did invest. If i were you i do have the money still i would decide to hold up those ltc i do have and forget them for long and focus on other coins. But if you do urgently need of money then its your decision to sell on loss.

I would say keep both. They are tied together, and if one has success I think the other will follow. Many say LTC is like silver and BTC is like gold. They use this analogy to compare both values. So of course investing in BTC is better, but I don't think LTC will ever lose it's value. So if everyone is waiting for BTC to reach $500k then LTC won't stay in $80 for sure.
There's a point to not giving that Litecoin away because it could be worth much more than it is right now. Hold!! Just a little longer!

Holding rule is not only for litecoin, it's also for bitcoin too. We can't achieve our targets without holding them in long term. The short term will be red market manipulated by some groups.

If it happened to me, I would prefer to be patient and wait. I believe in the bright future of ltc, it is a good coin. Also lightning network might help to increase the price.
I have the same opinion about this coin.

Many people are investing in litecoin because it is trusted and the price of litecoin will go very high in upcoming days so i would suggest people to invest in litecoin and because the price is also going high.

OMG. How can you not lucky. Better not move to bitcoin now, soon it will crash to$ 2000. Better to just forget about your LTC for a year and it will cost more than $200  Smiley

Hold your coins that are down. Whole market is red now. So selling means you lose Money.  Just wait and see if you can invest some more to drive the average price down you bought for. That way it doesn't need to be as high to sell for profit.

HODL both.  The %s are up to you but they are two of the top coins that should be in any portfolio IMO.

You just need to wait until it gets back above $80 or better new highs above $100 before selling
and putting into any other coin. Buying high and selling low is going to erode any portfolio value fast.
LTC is more volatile than BTC both up and down so will go up faster than BTC anyway.

I think you should not loss your patience because here you are going to make big mistake .
As you said that you bought at $80/ltc , so here if you will move toward the bitcoin by selling your litecoin then you will make loss of 53% because currently the price is about $47/ltc , so you can understand well that how much degree of the loss you will face .
Here you need to follow the basic trick of the stretagy that don't sell your coin at loss , wait until its price get reach to high that at what you bought .
Here i already waited for a coin 1 year + for 1337 coin to make profit and also i made much .
So don't loose your patience until you reach at the goal .
So it is more better for you to hold you litecoin in your wallet , and wait until it get up and you make profit in decent amount .

I would just hold on , you bought on a high price.
You can buy more to get your cost average down if you want.

It's best just to wait, as you can see almost everything is falling nowadays which might be the effect of ICO banning in China. Just wait for issues to be cleared and for prices to recover before rushing a decision. It's not good to panic when price fall down, because you might regret it when price recovers.

WEll, you have joint the litecoin quite late and I believe that you should hold instead of selling your litecoin right now. The hype is over now and I think that litecoin needs few more months to recover and develop. Therefore, dont lose hope. The price which you bought litecoin is quite high but if you are patient, you can x2 your balance in the future

Journey far enough if should go back to $80 for ltc. But i am sure, that value will be touched again one day. Because the price always back and forth. if i becomes you, I will let it or atleast trade it so can minimize losses.

You're fucking up bad if you get into LTC. BTC and LTC are dying coins in 2018. They are useless dogshit destroyed by Core. You should be getting into Bitcoin Cash at the ground floor here. It's the future of crypto. Will kill off pretty much every altcoin.

You do understand that Bitcoin Cash by increasing blocksize became more like litecoin? It can handle as many transaction in a second now as LTC can, just with a much slower confirmation time (sometimes very much slower because of the emergency difficulty adjustment bug). Even bitcoin by adding segwit has become more like litecoin.

Unfortunately, neither side was able to adopt all the improvements that LTC represents. At least by adopting some of the characteristics of litecoin both BTC and BCH are better for it. Likely, litecoin will continue in its leadership role and that can only be good for the BTC/BCH communities.

This is a bad joke. LTC is another Blockstream Core scam coin.

$80 a coin... that's really high. I would be ready to hodl for years. By looking at the all time graph, you may be holding for a long time until you see an all time high. Your best bet is that Litecoin regains importance thanks to the lightning network, payment channels and interactions between blockchains. This may pump the price, or when the next time that bitcoin goes through harsh times like during the activation of segwit, Litecoin may get that update before Bitcoin and it may pump its price, so maybe if you are able to hold for a long time you may not sell at a loss.
