ok i'm bought some SYS today 1800 sat...
Hope i don't late for party

It seems you made a good choice. In the short term it is a lot up to what bitcoin price will be but in the long run I am sure this project will be big and gain a lot of traction and capitals.
which is correct from the investors points of view sys still have a lots to give to its holders, its not just pnd project but working project that have a lots of progress to expect, its not late mate its just up to you how will you satisfied yourself with some growth coming from your holdings.

No sys takes whatever holders give to sys team without asking any questions or worrying about a low point in holders financial affairs. Sys doesnt give u innovations but rather it takes money from u and never sends it back to u. U helped to make sys better than it used to be and what u got back? Nothing but slap in the face and moral anguish, yet u find time to post here.

Nonsense What are you talking about?

Interesting comments and, rather difficult to understand but, it would seem you have an axe to grind, correct? I, on the other hand, have been invested in SYS since the ICO and find they are doing rather a good job of growing my investment. Could it be the difference of actually having invested in SYS and just trolling?

DeepOnions for the WIN!
Hi All. My first post in the Syscoin thread.

I am VERY interested in the digital certificates functionality of Syscoin.

Can someone please give me some pointers on where I can find information on:

1. Do I need to run my own node to be able to issue certificates, or are there public nodes that can be used?
2. How do I programmatically issue and transfer certificates? Is there an api or the like?
3. What is the cost/fee for a certificate to issue and transfer respectively?
4. What is the cost/fee for an alias?
5. Official block Explorer?
6. Can the data of a certificate be edited by the issuer only at a later date after being issued? Say you wish to revoke a certificate?

Any in depth details for developers to develop on Syscoin will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

PS: Syscoin looks very promising for a project I am currently working on. Very excited!

Has anybody looked into Particl?  (SDC rebranding)

https://particl.io/

Just wondering how this compares to SYS ... seems kind of like it's going for the same thing, a decentralized Ebay/Amazon...

Sorry if this has been covered before.

This is my first post here on bitcointalk. So hello everyone!

Lots of talk going around that Particl is a dump coin.  They appear to be trying to get in on the Blockchain goldrush, problem is that they are well behind Syscoin.  Right now personally I would stick with Syscoin.

Hello and welcome! You picked a good group to start with, lots of helpful and knowledgeable people here. Enjoy!

and syscoin are behind Bitbay! and bitbay is cheaper! ;-)
That is incorrect. Sys.and bay are totally different and sys is not behind bay in any way other than wishing them the best success. Nice try though.

Bitbay is a good project, but it's still very far from syscoin. According to technical capabilities, only the ether can compare with syscoin. In the next 1-2 months, the capitalization of syscoin will be higher than 100 m USD.

Could somebody who has built Syscoin from source in Ubuntu 16.04 please list the steps they used here.

Following the documentation on github produces errors at this step:

sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev

Hey I'm guessing you used this

sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:syscoin/syscoin
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev

please try this instead

sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev
