Actually to get merit from another is very difficult. If anybody like your article that you written in forum he can give you merit if he wants. The merit points will go work in your higher ranking. There is huge discussion in forum about merit. plz read.
System Merit that if we need to be qualified and meaningful and also easy to understand by all people because in value by manager with based on qualification, competence, and performance fairly and fair.
with us making a good post or comment and containing very useful information we will definitely find it easier to get merit from someone who likes posts or comments ita. so let's both we hunt merit will also be able to raise our bitcointalk member

You won't receive merit in this section or it is rare.No one will give you merit for posts or topics like this, you need to write more than 2 lines. I don't think merit sources are visiting altcoins too much because of spam.
Am not against the merit system at all. It is very good and will bring informative and supportive messages to the forum. No doubt about that. However, people hardly give you the merit especially when you are not familiar to those who can give. I was with the suggestion that at least the forum should consider the number of posts. A system should be employed to give the merit based on the information it has been fed with. To be frank it is very difficult for people to give out merits.
It's actually not, I tend to give merit where ever I can, there just nothing much to merit.
And just before you, or someone else, comes with "no one is giving low rank members merit", just check out nullius.
If you can't get merit it's not about merit, it's about you.
Because my bad English, earning Merit become harder. But i think Merit system is the suitable ways to estimate member ranking.
In order to rank up to jr. Member, you only need to have 30 activities, but if you are going to higher ranks you are going to need merit. 10 Merits for Member, 100 merits for full member, 250 merits for Sr. Member and I'm not sure in the next ranks. But there is a thread regarding the merit system and you can check the number of merits required for each rank. Merits are given by the members of the thread. You will receive a merit from the person if you have a good post.

Your post must be reasonable or some current affair in Crypto related definitely some peoples are give the merit and if you need more rewards you must active in meta and serious discussion then only you have some idea about the merit system. But recently most of the members are stay in same place because it is little hard to get so some changes is possible in future you should wait for corrections.
this system is pushing a little bit. It was easy to rank in the past. Now those who really labor can rise. a good system to understand the difference.

People have different standards and only those who will excel can get merit from higher ranks. But its not easy to get one merit, this sytem I think is working only to prevent you from ranking up especially if you are not a quality poster.
At the risk of upsetting the leaders of the bitcointalk forum, I think the recently introduced merit system is designed for bitcointalk users to no longer grow in rank. You do not get anybody's merit for quality posts, it's only worth knowing. If you're not in a "sect", you're dead, just stay with the current rank.
I've checked your posts and most of it aren't constructive nor helpful to the topics that you are posting.

I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by:
- Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc.

The problem is that you should be given merit by other users and not by the site administration, and since it's not a fact that even for a good post or discussion you will get it, it's very sad...

it is true there must be provisions to make a quality post, so we all the residents of the rankings are trapped not confusion denan this merit system

First of all, for the topics created to fulfill the weekly signature bounty, no one will give merit. To get them you need to write not just constructive posts, in the desirable useful ones. Imagine, for what you would have given to a man merit, if you had one. Communicate with people, share with them something useful and merits will find you.
