But it happens so quite frequently that no one pays attention to such kind of posts. On the other hand, posts that contain no important information can be merited by people, who just like your opinion.

Merit system is a system that helps you to upgrade your rank. If you contribute valuable content then you will receive merits. Try to talk as many merits as you can to go upward

The merit system is a great idea! When it was introduced, there was less spam on the forum! Now the alien flow has stopped. Who ask the same question a thousand times! Now only the most worthy can increase their rank! 
Nobody likes the merit system but also benefits from it. The forum will be more qualitative. Posts will be more useful.
