Following the series victory against Australia, India retains the top-ranked ICC T20I Team. The second and third positions were taken by England and South Africa, respectively. If England wins the series, they can top the table, and if Pakistan wins, they will replace England's position. In T20I, rankings aren't important, especially with World Cup approaching. A team can beat any other on its day.
Rankings are based on a team's performance. But that doesn't matter much when the World Cup just around the corner. Every team is now busy with how to perform well in the World Cup. Now T20 series will be very important for every team. The matches played yesterday between Australia vs India and Pakistan vs England are of utmost importance. Meanwhile Australia and India match is over. Now the T20 series between Pakistan and England is on going. We have to see how much progress they can make in the upcoming matches.

I also think the game change is really unpredictable, anytime any team can play bad or weak team in the list can show good performance.  But the ranking should not be underestimated, things are very good.  Because the current performance of that team also depends on the ranking, that is, the quality and condition of everyone in the team should be kept and practiced in the team.
We can get idea about which team is favorite at the time of comparison. Ranking will help us to find out quickly to solve this comparison but cricket is a unpredictable game where any team can win whatever strong or weak opponent. It's not possible to judge a team by ranking only.
I cannot agree with you.  By seeing the ranking of a team, everyone will understand whether the team is good or not.  I think a team should be considered with rankings.  But yes, big strong teams lose games against weak teams sometimes. It is not possible to consider teams with all this.  I think a team's ranking is everything.

I totally agree that ranking’s can be misleading in this format, and when you look at India one may feel that they’ll probably win the upcoming T20 World Cup, but the reality is that they’ll not win because of their poor bowling. Furthermore this tournament requires strong batting, and again team India’s middle order looks vulnerable and hence if one is planning to wager on them then I would advise not to, because I feel that they may lose too easily against their opponent’s.
Yes, India's bowling is not very good.  India lost almost every match because of their bowling.  I agree with you.  If one bets on the India team, he risks losing his money.  I have lost many bets in Karon, India.  I am not betting on India's support anymore.  But India has good batting.  They play very well in every match.  But the Indian team is far behind in terms of bowling.

If 20 teams get a chance to participate in the World Cup, the quality of the World Cup will further decrease. Because the performance of other teams is quite weak except for the first 8-10 teams of ranking. Teams like UAE, PNG, and Hong Kong will never win against the big teams and every match will be one-sided. World Cup matches will not be competitive. So viewers will lose interest in watching the World Cup. But maybe teams like UAE, Hong Kong, and Nepal will try to strengthen themselves to perform in the World Cup.

Your allegation has no basis. Some of the most competitive matches in the T20 world cup involved associate nations. And if you check the history, you can see that a majority of the lop-sided matches in the tournament were between two tier-1 test nations. The excuse of low quality is raised by lower ranking test nations, because they are afraid of getting beaten by associate sides. During the last world cup, Bangladesh was defeated by Scotland, and Namibia managed to defeat Ireland. If you want to maintain quality, then the tournament should comprise only of 4 teams - India, Australia, New Zealand and England.

I watched some parts of the Bangladesh vs UAE match. UAE played very well. While the performance of the Bangladeshi bowlers was good, as usual, we saw a poor performance from the batsmen. Apart from Afif and Nurul Hasan, none of Bangladesh's batsmen could play well. Giving a target of just 159 runs is not enough for the T20 format. Bangladesh's top-order players should bat more responsibly.
Also, don't forget that the Bangladesh team was very young. Bangladesh is not good at T20Is. They were constantly losing matches with every country. I wouldn't be surprised if I saw Bangladesh Loses a T20I with Namibia or Hong Kong. Top-order batsman Sabbir Rahman got a chance after a few years and kept his scores under 10 in the last few matches. Not sure about Yasir Ali. But didn't see him bat well in recent games.
Everyone knows that Bangladesh will play badly.  I think Bangladesh is a very bad team.  If they play T20 against all the worst teams in the world, they won't win their matches.  They are playing very badly now.  Let's say their bowling is very poor.  Apart from that, if the batting is good in one match, it will be bad in the next two matches.

The overall performance of the Bangladesh team is very bad now. I don't see any player in the team consistently performing well. Talented players like Afifa, Miraj and Liton are in the squad. But they are also not playing well consistently. If Afifa, Miraj, Shakib, and Liton play well, it will be difficult to win against the Bangladesh team. Moreover, I have not seen the two openers of the Bangladesh team form a big partnership for a long time. It is difficult to win T20 matches if the top order players do not play well.
Bangladesh has good players.  But they can't play as well as before.  Bangladesh has both bowling and batting.  But they cannot bowl and bat as well as before.  Due to which the Bangladesh team is lagging behind in the game day by day. If Bangladesh continues to play a bad game then they will not be able to do anything well.

The incease of 16 teams is a great number - let's hope these new arrival come up to the level of the good team at least
Now there is so much fan following for the football even in the subcontinent
Although the addition of the team will be a booster for them but I am not sure they will make to top 6
From 2024 onwards, we will be having 20 teams participating in the T20 world cup. The number of teams is not a concern for me. I have issues with two other factors - qualification process and eligibility criteria. Qualification is still skewed towards the full members and most of them automatically qualify for the world cup. And eligibility criteria in cricket is a joke and teams with native players such as Nepal and PNG no longer manage to qualify for the ICC tournaments. Their place is taken up by teams with 100% foreigner composition such as Oman and UAE.

We really need small teams like Afghanistan, UAE etc to make some good progress in cricket. This will not only be good for cricket but we will be able to see more competitive matches in different series and tournaments.
Right now, there are only 6 or 7 renowned teams. With new teams coming in and playing good cricket, the spectator would be able to see more thrilling matches. Also, the quality of cricket will improve further as new teams step in and show their talent.
More teams into cricket will increase the competence and increase the audience. But the ICC doesn't wish for this, as the dominance might go from their hands. In FIFA next season have got 48 teams participation. Such a transition need to take place with cricket.

Bhuvi i am really doubtful for the death overs which is why I think you should keep him in the team but finish his overs in first 10, keep Bumrah and Arsh for the death.
Bhuvi is a very inconsistent bowler. Sometimes, he bowls very well while he bowls like an amateur on some other occasions. His experience still helps though. Arsh definitely deserves more chances despite all the negative criticism.

Pakistan on the other hand was lucky in the match against England. We did not bat well and despite having wickets in hands, 166 was not a good total in my opinion. However, Pakistan bowled well and win the match in the end.
True. I was shocked to see England lose when they needed 5 runs from 9 balls. The pressure got to them and they buckled.

There are also some matches that the audience can't imagine what will be happen. The last match between Pakistan and England would be an example of it.

The last match between the two teams was indeed interesting but what about the next match to be played between them on September 28th.
No one knows who will be the winner of that match as the matches are too close for both teams. Seeing the odds and you will find nothing to choose. You can bet on your favorite team and still get good odds on stake.com

In this regard ranking here is not underestimated. I mean ranking is not much of an important issue for the team because the T20 World Cup is just knocked at the door. The main thing is to win the World Cup. If you look at the subject thoroughly you will get it. And another thing is that good teams can fall into trap anytime in T20 game. There are also some matches that the audience can't imagine what will be happen. The last match between Pakistan and England would be an example of it.

Pakistan managed to take 3 wickets in the first 3 overs. Which makes it easier for them to win. But towards the end I was quite skeptical, Pakistan seems to be losing. In fact, if luck helps, who loses? Pakistan won with Haris Rauf's two brilliant wickets and a brilliant run out at the end. The England players could not believe that they had been defeated.

It was another exciting finish by Pakistan and they are not ending there habit of giving tension to there supporters in every match they play. Yesterday match was almost won by England but thanks to the last over by Rauf in which he took 2 crucial wikcets. But Pakistan really need to focus on batting.

In the match India vs Australia and Pakistan vs England the results didn't make me surprised or impressive, I find the performance from United Arab Emirates team really good and made Bangladesh feel the pressure. Going through the scorecard we can see the contribution coming from each and every player. Losing on a small margin makes me have big expectation over the second T20.
Yes, India and Pakistan are strong enough against their opponents and the spectators felt that both these teams can win. But a good game was held between United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh. Arab Emirates could not win the match but they are relatively play well. It has to be said that two teams like Afghanistan and Arab Emirates have been able to bring big changes in their cricket in a relatively short period of time.

Teams like UAE, Afghanistan and Ireland are making themselves stronger day by day. These teams are quite strong, especially in the T20 format. I think they can win against the big teams after a while if they get enough opportunities.
