In PSL, Lahore Qalandars who are known for losing games are doing good this times. Yesterday they beat Islamabad United by 8 runs. On points table LQ are at no 2 position. Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah is captain of LQ. Since all decisions are made on your performance in leagues,  IMO shaheen may become Pakistan new captain.

There is no accountability and that is the reason why these sort of incidents repeat in the IPL. Two of the franchises were caught red handed for match fixing, and rather than terminating them the BCCI just handed them a two-year suspension. This lax attitude actually encourages more criminal activity within the IPL. On top of that the Chennai SuperKings and the Hyderabad SunRisers are still owned by individuals with proven links to match fixing.
Do you have the exact pieces of evidence of these two franchises involved in corruption of match fixing and were caught Red handed? Let's show them to  few of the people here who want to close their eyes on these facts and can't hear their beloved league to be fixed.  Cool

I am just quoting the report from the BCCI itself. Back in 2015, two of the franchise owners (Gurunath Meiyappan of Chennai Super Kings and Raj Kundra of the Rajasthan Royals) were found to be involved in spot-fixing. They were found to be betting against their own team, which should clarify any doubts in case there were any. Both the franchises are still under their indirect ownership and Meiyappan's wife (Rupa Gurunath) is the president of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. Incidentally, Mr. Meiyappan is the son in law of the most powerful person in Indian cricket (N. Srinivasan).

Why would BCCI take action against them? They are themselves involved in it to gain more money and use this money to hire international players at expensive rates.
Do you really think that the BCCI is spending money from the pocket and hiring players from different countries and presenting it to the teams  Cheesy. Not sure from where you are getting these ideas, that is not how club soccer or cricket are hiring players. I know there is a limit to the amount of  money any team can spend to purchase players. If not big owners will purchase all the big players and BCCI does is to conduct auctions and the money is spent by the team owners  Tongue.

Muhammad Asif was an individual case and he was bound to be punished when caught. However, I have heard that IPL match fixing is being done at the macro level and IPL management is involved in it too. Once the results of all the matches and the winner of each season of IPL is decided beforehand, you can imagine how much big money BCCI can make and they can also give a lot of money to the players too. That's another reason that we may never get any solid evidence or even if there is evidence, it can be forced to remain hidden with a lot of money.

That's what I am saying everything is fair unless you are not caught or nobody cares what big fishes (big 3) are doing.

Meanwhile action continues in PSL, Pakistan runs scoring machine aka M.Rizwan scored blistering 69 runs on 44 balls that helped MS to pose a total of 162. Keeping in view the karachi pitch I guess it's a challenging one. Is it me noticing that boudry in PSL has been shortened?

We all think most of the matches in IPL are completely fixed. And a lot of the time looking at the performance of the teams, it seems that the matches were actually fixed. Many times we consider it as a miracle. But no one has any proof that fixing is done in IPL. The ICC has investigated the matter several times in the past but found no evidence. So we should not slander IPL or IPL management without proof.

The BCCI simply doesn't have the courage to take action against them.

Sorry to say but a full decent brain knows that IPL IS FIXED.

Note: Again i am also against the pakistani players like Muhammad Asif and others who were involved in match fixing in the past and i won't close my eyes only because they were from Pakistan.

I can't say that you are completely right or wrong but the point is there is no proof of fixing in IPL. So we can only speculate nothing else. While there were solid proofs of Muhammad Asif match fixing that's why it's highlighted. Key take away is fixing is fine as long as you are not caught.

Don't waste your breath on him since he clearly doesn't favor the Indian team and tries to undermine them whenever possible by coming up with all kinds of nonsensical garbage.

Obviously, I would not tolerate any statement which is being falsely said against the facts. I can't undermine anyone, I just try to tell the facts which mostly the Indian team lovers hate as they are too used to seeing only one side of the good picture.

Anyone with a half-decent brain knows for a fact that IPL isn't a fixed league and is easily the most popular Cricket league across all formats hands-down currently. PSL is another great league which is turning out to be more and more entertaining as time passes.

Meanwhile there is interesting contest in PSL, karachi Kings lost to Peshawar Zalmi despite the fact that babar azam ( karachi Kings captain) scored 90 runs and remain not out. It was 4th straight defeat for Karachi In this tournament. Seems like KK won't be able to make it to semis.

We are one week away from the IPL Mega Auction 2022. Approximately 590 cricketers are set to go under the hammer in the upcoming auction. I'm looking forward to seeing who will break the record. I predict Iyer, Cummins, and Warner to be the biggest bidders since at least 3 teams. David Warner will be the highest bidder. ABD has retired from cricket and there will be no IPL 2022 without him.

Each team has enough money. But they are not sure exactly how much money they are willing to spend. Teams have to spend a lot of money on players like Finch, Warner and Villiers. But, I'm interested about Gayle. will Crise Gayle play this season? He is old enough. He is probably 42 years old. But now in the BPL, we are seeing Gayle. Will he also be in IPL?

Last time the top 2 were Chris Morris and Pat Cummins. The auction of players will happen on the 12th & 13th of February. I was checking the list of international players and the top 3 in the list are Faf du Plessis, David Warner and Pat Cummins. I assume Pat Cummins will again lead the list for International players and Iyer for Indian players

Every league is unique and has its own fan base. IPL was the first and still the most profitable cricket league. All other leagues that started after IPL are basically a copy of it. These leagues also want their revenue to be similar to IPL but they forget they are not playing in India. I am not sure what is the global reach of IPL at the moment is but one thing I am sure that within India its reach and fanbase is more than its global reach/fanbase. The revenue it generates from India itself cannot be matched by other leagues.

It is wrong, and you can't state a complete league to be fixed. IPL is on its 15th season this year. The PSL 7 is taking place at present. This means there is a big difference between the both. When PSL 15 takes place you should say there is no match fixing and the tournament is completely focused on giving entertainment and they aren't revenue focused.

One of the biggest revenue source for IPL is the television right. If PSL wants to be succesful then they should stop telecasting those matches on free platforms. They should also work on piracy. Star india has been very successful in stopping piracy. It is practically impossible to watch IPL on any free platforms now. A few years back you would have easily watched those IPL matches on most of the free platform.

Pakistan PSL does not follow the cheap tactics of IPL  and our focus is not on the revenue only. If people can watch PSL on some free platforms, that won't hurt much. Let the people enjoy the matches. Money is not everything.
Also, PSL non-fixed matches gives much better entertainment than the fixed IPL matches.
Each and every ball is fixed in IPL matches, claim bookies  Cool

Are you saying that starting any league and allowing foreign players in that league is a cheap tactic ? This means IPL is doing these cheap tactics for the last 15 years  Cheesy

Common, I am not saying that IPL is a fixed league. The whole media and news channels are complaining about it. By the way, there was match fixing in the 7th IPL league and also in the 15 IPL league and no fixing in PSL till now. The number of leagues does not determine that the league will be affected by fixing.  Cool

Now we have another very good news from BCCI as President Sourav Ganguly is expected WIPL going to launch in 2023 which is very good decision from them as nearly 1100 registered women cricketers available in this game, so this is going to be another game changer for them in future. https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/sourav-ganguly-bcci-at-the-level-of-formulation-to-launch-womens-ipl-in-2023-1299852

There is no formal announcement yet and nothing is confirmed. I just hope that this is not another delaying tactic from the BCCI. They should have launched the WIPL at least one decade ago, but kept on delaying it. And in the end, it had a major impact on the prospects of the women's national team. Instead of starting the WIPL, the richest cricket board in the world asked it's female players to get some experience by participating in the women's leagues around the world, such as the WBBL and the Women's Hundred.

SLC does 100 times better job than BCCI in this regard. Remember Nidahas Trophy final overs? SLC posted this on their YT channel and its most watched video for any sports.

You cant ignore the power of social media steaming channels they open new dimensions of earnings for small businesses. IPL is other story but small leagues like BPL, PSL can attract people globally towards them. Streaming your league freely on YouTube defiantly makes you a bit more popular.
You are right now no one can ignore power of social media, but these things need by small leagues or boards for some better and faster exposure of their game right now IPL is very stable in finances and have enough power to control all things for their own security, so they not feel good with these cheap tactics, and they are right in their concern. They have some good fan base in India and in other countries from their most of the peoples are able to afford these paid services, so it's good for them.
