New Zealand looks to be in lots of trouble now. They have lost 3 wickets and still need more than 100 runs in 14 overs. The good news for NZ is that Akila Dananjaya has only one over left (he had taken all the three wickets fallen so far). Tom Bruce and de Grandhomme are trying to build a partnership, but they need to be a bit cautious now.

There is no discussion here about today's NZ and Srilanka T20 match.  Maybe not many people following this series ?

Srilanka is playing really good today and reach 100 runs with only 2 wickets down. I think they are set for a big total today, maybe near 200 to make themselves comfortable.
Yes, Sri Lanka has been playing good. The early partnership was quite good, but further the third wicket has fallen. The match has got close to the end of over fourteen. After 100 the score isn't increasing much, I find the score to reach around 180. New Zealand were strong at the moment, and expect the winning to be on the side of New Zealand.

The moment i said that Sirlanka is playing well, all of sudden they lost two wickets.  Cheesy
They have wasted a review as well. Are we going to see the replay of the 1st T20, where Srilanka started well and then start losing the way as the games progressed.

Edit:  5 out now

So, you didn't bet either? You would probably lose today as well  Grin
LOL
No, I did not gamble. In fact I did not gamble since the World cup. Really trying myself to keep out of it and focusing on enjoying the match. Gambling is very stressful and you actually lose your analytical instinct, you will always side for the team you gambled no matter if they win or lose, plying better or not.

Actually from my experience, whenever we gamble on the team or certain score, the opposite of that started to happen.  Cheesy   As long as we are not gambling, all our predictions are coming true. The moment we think, oh yes, i am expert and can gamble on my predictions, we started to make wrong predictions.

Not only you, but many people will also experience this type of situation while gambling when we are not gambling all my predictions will be perfect and when it comes to reality i will start losing my money. One thing I can clearly say that nobody is perfect in gambling.

I have seen people who bet on matches and they often win. Maybe they have good anayltics skills and they have a better knowlegde of games and teams. Luck do play an important factor in betting but still there are more chances of winning if you know the strenghts of the teams.

I think New Zealand got lucky in this match as Sri Lanka should of got the win, the rain I think played a part in this match as it can change the momentum of the match. I did think that New Zealand middle order batted well to help get them the win.

To sum up we can say that NZ was lucky who was able to win this match and Srilanka continue their bad form and bad luck.
The rain should have help Srilanka but NZ played better in the latter part of the innings.
Now as we are watching New Zealand for some weeks they are improving and on this tour lady of luck is also with them so now they deserve wins they already lost some big even they was deserve for this big win in this twenty/20 they done good job and won.

New Zealand have always been a good team when it comes to the short form of the game but I do agree that they have improved over the past few years in both T20 and ODI cricket. Yes they had a lot of luck in this first T20 match and got the win due to some mistakes by Sri Lanka, this next T20 match will be a good one as Sri Lanka will be looking for a win to square up the series and have shown that they can play well but just missed their chances at vital stages of the match.

Did not expect Sri Lanka to lose this one especially since Malinga was bowling so well and stopped Grandhomme. With Ross Taylor gone, I seriously thought that they won this one, but the New Zealand tail enders delivered.

Mitchell and Santner saved them in this game. Thought of placing a bet on Sri Lanka earlier, but decided not to which turned out to be a good decision.

When a team does not field well and drop catches, then they should leave the hope of winning. Srilanka drop Ross Taylor and did not field well in the last 10 overs. If they had played with some responsibility they would have won easily. Except Malinga no other bowler could retain the pressure on Newzealand.

Sri lanka are messing up things  Cheesy  A drop catch and unstoppable Ross Taylor is hurting Sri lanka.
I think the match is shifted in the New Zealand favor in the last 3 overs.
Old is gold  Cheesy
I think it's still 50-50, SL need to deliver two good overs and they will win the match, however, they need to stop taylor anyhow. NZ lower order batsman aren't much experienced and it will certainly help SL at the death over.

Rain has come to add to the drama.
By the way, if the rain does not stop. NZ will won by 2 runs. How lucky would that be for NZ when Ross Taylor is just out  ?

New Zealand left it till the last over to win the match, it was a risky decision but in the end it worked for them. I felt that Srilanka players could have played little better, because at times it felt they would be able to cause an upset. @vella85 New Zealand middle order players have lots of experience, hence it was easy for them to navigate their team towards victory.

I watched only the last 6 overs. Ideally, Kiwis should win this game easily, but everything could change in a couple of overs. In the shorter format, every team can ruin their chances in short time.
175 is the average score in this ground and Kiwis must have chased it, however, 2 earlier wickets has made it harder now. I still think with the batsman NZ have can easily chase 174.

Not following the match but seems like our World cup runner up team lost 2 wickets already. I have no interest in this T20. So, I do not bother much about it.
So, you didn't bet either? You would probably lose today as well  Grin

This chase is not going to be easy as NZ has lost 3 wickets and 62 on the board.  Unless Srilanka really mess up things, i do not see how NZ can win from here ?
