Without Matheesha Pathirana and Mostafizur Rahman, CSK looked very weak in this team especially in the last match where they took the field against SRH. No bowler could bowl well in that match as well as no batsman could bat responsibly due to which CSK collected less and SRH was able to collect that less easily. While CSK started the season very well, they lost the match against SRH due to some wrong decisions early on. If these two fast bowlers are not in the XI in the next match, we may see such deterioration in CSK's performance in the next match as well. Matheesha Pathirana is good at yorkers whereas Mustafiz is a very effective bowler towards the end so these two bowlers should definitely be included in the playing XI.
Chennai Super Kings bowling looked toothless without these two. Matheesha Pathirana and Mostafizur Rahman are their best bowlers at the moment. The former missed the match due to an illness, while Mustafizur had to travel to Bangladesh to get his United States visa (for the upcoming T20I world cup). In their absence, the responsibilities were taken over by Deepak Chahar, Mukesh Choudhary and Maheesh Theekshana. Choudhary went for 27 runs from his sole over, while Deshpande and Chahar went for 10 runs per over.
I totally agree with you. Chennai's bowling order is very weak right now. However, the main reason for Chennai's defeat against Hyderabad was their poor batting.
I don't know how Chennai management has constructed their squad. Matheesha Pathirana and Mostafizur Rahman are quite talented bowlers. And these two bowlers have performed well in the first two matches. And two foreign bowlers are also out of the squad for the match against Hyderabad.
Without these two bowlers, Matheesha Pathirana and Mostafizur Rahman, it will be very difficult for Chennai to perform consistently well. Moeen Ali, Jadeja and Rachin Ravindra bowled the best of Chennai's bowlers against Hyderabad. All these three are not full time bowlers. All three are all-rounders.
