This is what I don't understand. If they really want to experiment with the players, then why can't they organize a few India A and India U-23 tours? I don't even remember when was the last time we had a series with these teams. Pushing payers directly into international cricket is crazy. They may not be prepared for that, as many of them don't have the necessary experience of playing under SENA conditions. Even if they allow the IPL franchises to play 3-4 matches outside India during off-season, that will help tremendously.

op I'm sorry I can't agree with you because Shubman Gill has played very well in a short time. Shubman Gill is the fifth-ranked Indian batsman to score a double century in ODIs as well as the milestone of 1000 runs in ODIs for Indians. Shubman Gill played the least number of matches for an Indian to reach the 1000-run mark in just 19 matches before this record was held by Virat Kohli who played 24 matches. Shubman Gill's career has just started, in the future this player will be a rising star of India. So it can be said that maybe India team will get another player like Virat Kohli.

Didn't check the squad or any announcement but it would be pretty dumb from the BCCI if they include him after keeping him out for like 2 years, it would send a mixed message to youngsters and seniors which is not good in the longer run.

I guess they included him and some other old players as it's his farewell series which is why these are just temporary changes. Am waiting to see Bumrah on top of his game again at some point in the future.

Shubman Gill is a new player but I have seen him play very well in Test matches. But coming to T20, he is not able to collect good runs. When I saw his performance in the Test match I thought India got another perfect player for their team but come T20 he gave a performance that took people's attention away from him. But it is a matter of concern why his performance dropped so much in T20. Maybe he gets too nervous while playing a limited overs game which gets him out quickly. Are you hallucinating about Shubhman Gills's career? He was never a test player but an ODI player with immense talent. He made himself noticed in T20 format in the last IPL and that is why he is part of the Indian team. A batter will always go through ups and down in his career and that is natural. Playing against WI is just a waste of time and effort. That is what I think about the ongoing series and that you should remember before writing.
