Afghanistan put a decent total on the board, and they have the resources to defend this total against any team. Gulbadin batted beautifully for his fifty, while Arshdeep was the pick of the bowler. That middle phase batting from the Afghan batter tilted the game toward India. India is a very balanced team, and the inclusion of Virat Kohli provided them further lift. I think India should easily chase down this total by looking at the depth and form of their batting. Virat Kohli is on the charge straightaway. If they want to win this match or at least for a close contest, Afghanistan should bowl with intent and in good line and length.
India won the 2nd T20 match is a good style and also won the series with this win. Afghanistan did score a decent score of 172 runs and lost all wickets in the process. Gulbadin Naib made 57 runs and was the highest score among the New Zealand team. I thought this was a decent score but if their batsmen had batted a bit more responsibility, they could have scored a few 10 to 30 more runs and that might had made the difference.
India chased this score in only the 16th over which shows that India was in full control in this match. Yashasvi Jaiswal made 68 runs and Shivam Dube made 63 runs and these two innings at a good run rate were enough for the Indian team to chase this score. Both of them scored at the strike rate of 200, which was too good to watch.
The final T20 match will be played at Bengaluru, on 17th January but the result of this match will not matter much. India already grabbing the series.
The pitch was completely batting friendly. So India won't have any problem to win today's match. The target was not small. Even then, India won very easily. The way Afghanistan started their innings, it looked like they would collect 200-plus today. But in the end, Afghanistan team gave the target of 173 runs.
India scored 174 runs in just 15.4 overs losing just four wickets. Rohit Sharma lost form. Rohit's performance was poor in both the matches. Yashashvi Jaiswal and Shivman Dube's excellent batting saw India easily reach the victory target. Jaiswal was dismissed for 68 off just 34 balls. And DUbe was unbeaten on 63 off 32 balls. India won the first two matches of the three-match series very easily. It is expected that India will win the last match as well.
