After England Women were given a target of 170 I thought England Women would have an easy win today. But I was very surprised by the performance of Ireland women's batsmen. Especially Orla Prendergast's excellent innings of 80 off 51 balls led to the win for Ireland women.

England women's team managed to collect a descent. It would not have been difficult for England Women to win this match if the bowlers could have done some controlled bowling. But none of England women's bowlers can bowl well. Georgia Adams conceded just 16 runs in 3 overs but failed to pick up a single wicket. England women's team lost this match because of their poor bowling.

But in this case the England team could have played a big role if they could have checked the boundaries towards the last. Because the England team had enough chances to win even though they fell enough wickets in terms of bowling but they did not perform well in terms of fielding. But the players of Ireland team were at least smart, they played good performance and strategy in the beginning of this match. When he decided to bowl a bit slower the captain played his best role here, as at these times it is usually best to play on target as the Ireland players proved.

Quite disappointing result for Namibia. There was a time when they were considered as one of the top associate nations. But now teams like Scotland and Netherlands have widened the gap with them. One reason maybe the small player pool that is available in Namibia. They are a small nation of 2.5 million people, and out of that population cricket is mostly played by Dutch and German speaking whites (who number just around 100,000 people). And unlike the case with the Scots and Dutch, Namibian players don't have the luxury of participating in English county cricket.

I was excited too, but the weather forecast doesn’t look good for the series decider. It’s pretty typical for Manchester in September. I’ve never understood why they schedule games so late in the season up north. While I’m disappointed with how the T20 series decider end, at the same time i'm really looking forward to the upcoming ODI series.

The third T20 match between England vs Australia was so challenging for both teams as England made a great comeback in the second match. England won the second match to level the series making the third match a crucial one for both teams. The team that wins the third T20 match will win the series as the equation was when the third match was abandoned due to rain.

Another washout and the number of washouts we see now and then should alarm the ICC and maybe try to learn from the T-20 WC USA leg experience.

Not many can afford retractable roof stadiums so it would be better if ICC and all the boards start taking the weather scenarios seriously and schedule bilateral around it. Today's washout won't affect Aus or Eng much, but the broadcaster won't entertain this in the long run.

The England women team did very good start and also played very well in the bowling too but there was the luck for the Ireland women's team. Ireland have won the last matches of both the series ODI and T20. But why they have not won the second last or first match, and why only the last match? Something to think about.
