Interesting thread, it's taken a while to read, but some very good info in here, and something I will be referring back to when I'm looking for more POS coins for my SandG project

Hi crunck, I've enjoyed holding and staking CAID, and after reading your post I am watching the SandG thread with interest. I like the concept a lot, where you hold PoS coins and use 75% of the stakes to provide buy support for SandG. If you decide to make it PoS in addition to PoW I would almost certainly invest in some!

I noticed that all of the coins in SandG's portfolio are high PoS coins (I hold all of them too) except for SDP. I am curious if you see anything special in that coin?

re: peer

Someone crafted a signature to exploit a bug that caused the network to split. Basically there's one side with Linux 32 bits and Windows 32 and 64 bits, and another side with Linux 64 bits. But Linux 64 bits may also be on the other side if they compiled from the source code and use OpenSSL 1.0.1k or above. The synchronized checkpoints are on the 64 bits Linux side. So if you're on the other side you get the warning.

1 DMD for anyone who has not posted in this thread and can show on the chain they've staked TALK in November 2015.
PM with proof.

Thanks for the DMD BitcoinNational! I hold just a little bit of TALK but it stakes well.  Cool

I like this thread - it's a nice dialog on what's happening in the crypto world.

P.S. In the Proof of Stake Coin List Feb 2014 quoted from StakeHunter, it lists DMD as a broken coin that doesn't stake. This isn't true, since Diamond stakes very well and the blockchain is robust and reliable.

my pick for quote of the day Smiley
Some of us are dedicating our time and our resources to improve the original protocol and contribute to the industry, not try to extract as much money from it as we can.

Thank You,

hmm ...
The State exists for 2 prime reasons (excuses)

1.  We take out the bad guys.  Protection Racket.
(so outlaw booze, weed, arms, and you get plenty of bad guys that need 'taking care of').

2.  Regulate 'The money' so give us a monopoly on that too.

Funny once humanity discovered a way to create a 'trust-less' form of fiat ... you know that kinda shakes up the #2 leg of your MONOPOLY business model ... being the sole authority that regulates the money ... so such a coincidence that once digital coins are trading at a level of notice ($150 M /day) ... pop goes the 'crisis' weasel ... now they got an excuse to regulate that which needs no regulation.  Also note worthy that the Euro has been rapidly losing value to the $, check the 10yr charts, the last 8 years are ugly.

And of course no proof on the block chain.

I got one for the the headlines ... "Taxes Fund Terrorism" ... but you'll never see that headline Wink

0 reward problems with BITBAR and OSC

Dug this out of a post from two years ago.
This should help explain all the 0.00 stake rewards.

My bitbar daemon complains about not being 0.4.1. It's compiled straight from https://github.com/aLQ/bitbar. Where can I get the source for this elusive 0.4.1?

Same here and I have just started a giveaway  Shocked https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/btb-new-bitbar-giveaway-ended-238328
- no rounding for PoS blocks, to address low PoS diff and those small PoS rewards
What does 'no rounding' mean?

Also, how are you in contact with the dev? And are you allowed to give his details?

Not everybody has their bitbar clients connected.
I think not everyone Know the 5% RoI on PoS.
That makes PoS difficulty is very low.
Low diff is why even small transactions can make PoS blocks after very small amount of time, and the reward is minimal.
rounding is up to 2 decimals, rounddown.  Super small rewards ale below rounding are not paid.

ex:

reward of 3.432353 is rounded to 3.43
reward of 3.439865 is rounded to 3.43
reward of 0.009234 is rounded to 0.00

POS reward is rounded down - or - the I look at it, everything after the second 0 after the decimal point (.00xxx) is dropped.
