I was searching for more games and I found this trailer. Can anyone find the full video?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ub4-YrEGmgg

Oddly enough, the guys that made that video don't seem to have it in their homepage. Have you tried contacting them, to see if they would be willing to provide a copy of the full video?

Anyway, have you seen this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTZ2iV5V4KQ? It also seems to have several different exercises for kids (though I advise you turn off the sound Tongue).

I thought you were a spammer at first! Be careful about posting this kind of thing the moment you join, it makes you look like a spambot!

lol not a spammer, there are so many users in this forum, so I thought that maybe someone could help. It's really hard to make the switch and add a game component to martial arts. They are so traditional. Nothing against that, but I think it's really important to keep training "hybrid", specially with children, so that they continue motivated.

So I thought that maybe someone could help and post some videos or describe exercises here, and maybe I can help to with my own exercises.

Theres balloon martial arts  Shocked
All those times when I was whacking balloons as a kid I was really training
Anyways interesting stuff

lol, it all depends on the feedback. That was a movement exercise, if you understand that the point of the exercise is to quickly adjust your position using a normal martial art moving skill, then you are training xD

I've always wondered, does tripping count as striking? I mean, if you're attacked in any way, making a motion to get the person on the ground and hold him down before they can do anything else.

Well that should count as a take-down lol
In a self defense scenario it is normally not recommended that you stay on the ground holding someone, because if they are not alone you are in trouble.

Anyway still waiting on those videos!

I encourage you to practice karate. Without considerations of age. here the master  Masutatsu Oyama 10 Dan.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWxqnu7-qrE

All martial arts are good, It's just about the accumulation and concentration , because of this you just do all things better in your life and feel happier and It helps in life in general.

Yes I agree. Even in krav-maga, which is a self-defense system and not a traditional martial art, we learn to be more respectful.

Anyway here is another video, I use to improve balance. Again it's effective, and it has the game component that children really like, and that helps them continue motivated through training.

I agree there is no better and worse martial arts. The main thing is to train and go ahead.. go ahead and go ahead...

It can be anything but it would be really amazing if the video or exercise could have a game component. Because it´s a lot easier for children to learn that way.

You mean, something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i01nQ28REN4?

Sorry, couldn't help it... Grin

LOL you could at least post a video with a wii game xD

Activities like tae kwon do, kung fu, and aikido are a fun way for both boys and girls to achieve fitness and focus. Some parents may think they also promote violence, but that's a myth, according to experts. The martial arts actually help teach self-discipline and socialization skills. In fact, many parents whose children have attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) report great success with these programs because self-control and concentration are exactly the skills underdeveloped in ADHD kids. But Krav Maga is too extreme for kids imo.

Thanks to all for your replies and interest.
I don't teach krav maga, sometimes we approach self defense, but the main classes are karate. And yes martial arts are a great way achieve fitness and focus, and we do have a lot of children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The main focus of the project is to teach self-discipline and socialization skills.

We faced a lot of problems teaching them the traditional way, that's why we start doing it through games, so they can learn without getting bored and quit the program. It's getting better now, but sometimes it's just hard to come up with new games and keep them motivated, that's why I thought why not create this thread and see what happens.

Btw, the games can be just fitness games that we can use for warm-up. Ofc those are easier to find, martial arts related games are harder. So if any of you had an idea please post it here.
