Too Weird to Live. Too Rare to Die...
November 24, 2016, 07:40:51 AM
My predictions about bitcoin is:
1. In 2017 the highest price reach $1200 and the lowest price $1000
2. In 2020 the highest price reach $5000 and the lowesr price $4500

But I doubt bitcoin can survive after 2025, because too many problem and replace with another cryptocurrency.
Too many problems? Like what? Like the slow transactions from time to time? I don't think it's enough reason for us to lose our trust of bitcoins. Bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency and all the other altcoins are just a copy of the bitcoin idea. The slow transactions doesn't change the fact that bitcoin is the most established coin and would continue to be like that. But maybe eventually something better will replace bitcoins. Especially that it's a thing on the internet, something more brilliant might come up and replace it.
For me the slow transactions is not normal to me as it does not happen all the time, if you will try to analyze the overall value of bitcoin you can still say that it is valuable more than it's weaknesses. If most of the investors are seeing that problem and it's a big deal for them then probably they will be pulling their shares and will create panic selling.

Slow transactions happen when you sent one with a very small fee or if the Blockchain is overloaded. This happened a few times and dozens of thousands of transactions were put on the "wait list". My transactions with very low fees compared to the recommended ones are usually confirmed in one day or even less.

at times like this the problem is not "low fees" at all but instead the competition that takes place.
if you look at the number of transactions currently waiting in the mempool they mostly have the minimal amount of fee but when something like this happens that minimal amount increases and keeps on increasing because of the competition which makes a normal fee of normal situation a low fee!

Indeed, even a transaction of 0.01 with 90k fee takes 20 hours for me now, if this keeps happening there will be no future for bitcoin. I can live with 1/2 hour confirmations but to become widely accepted the confirmations should become somehow instantly confirmed, also I think there will be a better future for a hybrid POS/POW coin then just a POW coin. Bitcoin will be replaced by something else someday in my opinion.

Like what we see right now, i.e. dozens of thousands of transactions being pooled for confirmations with blocks allegedly filled up to the hilt. Such things happened before (for example, in July of 2015 there was a heavy transaction jam for about a week), but now they happen more often and seem to be more severe overall. The solution offered, SegWit, could only alleviate this problem to a degree and most likely will get exhausted very soon...

It feels like no one is doing anything to crack this problem once and for good

Massive adoption will come, I feel it's enevitable when we get etf's and wall St money and projects like mega upload 2 Cool
Agreed!!! Maybe after 4 years  even the low class of people will be using bitcoin. Until all people are using bitcoin everywhere. I already imagined my self after 4 years. Im holding a 1btc coin on my both hands.

You are really not a dreamer then, if you are just imagining one bitcoin in your hands after 4 years, because people even want to earn more than 5 bitcoins in a year by seeing its growth and you are wishing to have 1 bitcoin after 4 years.
And yes, massive adoption will come and that will make bitcoins price grow higher.

There is no need to call that dreaming. If the bitcoin is used by 10% of the world population, the price will be many times higher.
yeah I agree with you, this time perhaps the user is only about 1-3% of the total population of the world, if the bitcoin users can reach 10% of the total population of the world, I believe bitcoin prices could rise many-fold

The number of Bitcoin users is nowhere near such percentages. Even 1% of the world population equals roughly 70 million people. It looks more like 1% of that number, or 700k people who are actively using Bitcoin. 70 million active users is a huge number itself, and if you ask me, that would instantly make Bitcoin into one of the top currencies like the US dollar or Euro.

To confront the next 5 years, so bitcoin will experience many problems. Starting from falling prices, many scam, and lack of confidence in the bitcoin public it will happen. But I believe bitcoin can certainly pass it because bitcoin will continue to grow.

The things you have mentioned are already happening in the community of bitcoin specially the scams and lack of confidence also occurs sometimes among the users of bitcoin but it seems to be collapsing with the time and that time will come when these things will get finished, not sure about scams but panics would surely end one day.
Yes maybe the rampant scam and lack of confidence will surely be overcome in a few years. But not necessarily eliminate it totally, just reduce it so that only a few. Problems in bitcoin will certainly continue in the future, and I still believe bitcoin can surely overcome it.

Well if talking about predictions, its much better if we say that bitcoin in the future will gain its reputation to be 100% for me because in my own experience and feed backs from friends who benefited a lot is that btc brings comfort to their lives and convenience is always there when having bitcoin on our lives. As far as people is concerned with bitcoin we are now going to adapt this in the future generation as well as online selling and buying, so lets keep believing that possibility is always there in bitcoin.

The scam has nothing to do with bitcoin since it's just human nature, it's the action of scammer and he is born to scam people but bitcoin was created to help people.

There is much to be done for Bitcoin to achieve mass adoption. But the good news is that Bitcoin is on the way... There are many investors holding btc, interested in promoting it, so that their holdings rise in value... not just individuals, but companies with solid plans to adopt the currency, and allow users to pay for their services using Bitcoin.

And now that you have mentioned, many of them are actually working on killer apps, to make it easier for users to use Bitcoin.

Yeah, this is a very great progress towards growth bitcoin. It has been very clear that bitcoin will be great and provide benefits to all who use it. Nothing is a good thing if we could not give a best contribution for bitcoin and we didn't want to cooperate. Now it seem that many people are interested and start thinking about bitcoin
It's true, you can tell it easily the way the price reacts this year. We are seeing a great price currently and that simply means people are adopting very fast as the price rise very fast as well. It cannot be controlled anymore as the success is coming, the current price is the representation for the demand of the people who supported the use of bitcoin for their daily transactions.

Yeah the current progress of bitcoin and how it is being accepted by many this days are proofs of its rise in the community. The high demand of it and the continuing increase of its price is a good anticipation that bitcoin will have a good rank in the future. As we can observe, bitcoin easily adapts to any modifications happening in the society. So I can foretell that bitcoin will be accepted by many and will become official in any business around the globe.

The reason 2016 looks set to be different is that bitcoin's price is likely to be driven in large part by similar factors to a traditional fiat currency, following the age-old principles of supply and demand.
Bitcoin's price has already almost doubled in the last  two months ago, putting it on track for its best quarter in two years. It hit $670 last month for the first time since August last year, with Chinese demand for a pyramid scheme set up by a Russian fraudster cited as a reason for the price surge.

Try to read and understand a post before saying something about it, the dreaming part of my post is not about the price at all, i was just saying that if he is wishing to have just 1 bitcoin after 4 years then he does not dream a lot because normally bitcoin users dream of having more than 2 bitcoins a year and he is wishing to have 1 after 4 years. That was what  i was saying, it wasn't even close to the price of bitcoin.
