It was a surprise for me that Novak Djokovich decided to play on geneva when the real action is about to begin in Paris. Maybe he wanted to have some actions in his birthday. He had not played the Geneva Open last season or ever. This is the first time Novak Djokovich is participating in Geneva open and is most certainly winning it. He might be widening his opportunities and increasing titles in his bag as he nears the end of his career. The geneva open is a clay court tournament, a lot similar to French Open which he's defending.

That is fantastic news, I read it on the RG website also that Alcaraz has landed too!

https://www.rolandgarros.com/en-us/article/alcaraz-and-sinner-join-all-star-cast-in-practice-roland-garros-2024-may-22

We dont know what type of form they are in yet while Djokovic yesterday on his birthday
overcame Hanfman 6-3, 6-3 in the Round of 16 at the Geneva Open. He plays Shapovalov
or Griekspoor.

Ruud seeded 2 has to play Baez next and seems to have found some good form before RG.

I dont see other players in action this week like Medvedev, Zverev, Tsitsipas or Rublev.

Sinner will be present at Paris for Roland Garros!
As I have highlighted some posts ago, this can be the chance to achieve the place 1st in ATP Ranking...
Djokovic would be fit for that tournament in Paris or tired due ATP 250 in Geneva?
Roll Eyes Some odds for final Winner... Djokovic @3.70 Alcaraz @2.70 Sinner @4.8 Zverev/Tsitsipas @8 Nadal @11 ( Shocked )

Anyone fancy Jarry today against Zverev? He is big enough odds 3.30. I think he should
at least be able to take a set off Zverev so maybe an over rather than under.
Their H2H is 4:2 in favor of Zverev but both wins from Jarry came on clay and here it is 2:2. So one set for Jarry could be a good bet but I am a bit worried since Zverev served exceptionally well this tournament. Did not lose a service game before Tabilo. I think I am skipping this one. My money goes to PL this afternoon  Grin

I skipped it too Trofo, Zverev's serving has been fantastic and look at the match serve
stats for him today after winning the final....

With a service game like that its really difficult to break Zverev. It was a 2 set affair today.

A week away now from RG and I dont see Sinner or Alcaraz or Nadal playing
this week, I cant see any info about these.

Djokovic is playing Geneva to get some game time in, his main rivals here are Fritz
and Ruud. What to think if he doesnt with this tournament?

Iga Swiatek vs Aryna Sabalenka is in the Rome final, not really sure Sabalenka will be able to avenge her loss at the Madrid Open to Swiatek because it was reported that she was injured and also not very fit, that's why Sabalenka had a longer match to get to the final compared to Swiatek who didn't lose one even sets to get to the final, but it's still possible this will be a three-set match.

Damn - I wish I had known that before the match and before my 20.5 over bet. I really
thought this would be another close affair like Madrid.

Swiatek is really going well, eventhough she loses some lower tournaments she seems
to win more of the bigger ones and she is leading Sabalenka in the rankings and
leading by over 3500 points.

We are having the replay of Madrid open exactly on Rome open for women's title. It's not even a month ago when these two played in finals for the title of Madrid Open. WTA number 1, Iga Swiatek is playing with number 2, Aryna Sabalenka. And the result is likely to be the same, a win for Swiatek. Iga Swiatek had been the dominant player on women tennis but failed to win the three grand slams last year, winning only French Open. Aryna Sabalenka successfully defended her Australian Open title this year. These matches could be a boost for Iga Swiatek before she enters to defend the French open title within next two weeks.

@rdbase Jarry Is strong with this field.
This Is not the best surface for Tsitsipas. I have seen him play two times here in Rome during last years and he plays a "clever and funny tennis".
Tournament of 2024 has not big names playing Nmore, I am not surprised to see a "specialist" now on stage.
Last year there was a similar outcom with Sinner that Lost vs Cerundolo.

Yes Sinner... This guy can reach top 1 position in ATP After Roland Garros and this Is not hard to achieve...

Novak Djokovic will play at the Geneva Open and in the second round, if we look at the draw, maybe we will see him compete against Andy Murray, who in the first round will face Yannick Hanfmann, and the last time they met was in 2017 in Doha, of course this will still be interesting to watch if it really happens even though both are at a different stage compared to a few years ago.

That was definitely worth a wager for sure based on how well both have been playing...

but...

Its not to be, Tabilo didnt make it even after a massive 6-1 first set win.

Jarry managed to beat Paul in a fantastic 3 set match, I watched it all and IMO he will
give Zverev a great match on Sunday. I dont see the odds yet but I guess Zverev will be
favourite and I would imagine the final will be a three set affair so I think I would like to
do an over bet on this - IDK

Swiatek v Sabalenka - here we go again, a Madrid Open final replay between these two!

Both are in top form and its going to be another close one and hard to pick a winner.
Over 20.5 @ 1.87 is my pick.

Jarry yesterday beat Tsitsipas in 3 sets, I watched the first set and I didnt think he would
make it but he turned the match around. Thats 2 Chileans in the semi finals. I wonder what
odds you would get for the two to reach the final?
Couldn't believe that Stefanos Tsitsipas is out and it was another one of the top ranked tennis players getting knocked out by somebody such as Nicolás Jarry, who nobody gave a chance to reach the semis.
If Tabilo wins against Zverev which is in a couple of hours from now. As Alejandro has been playing amazing tennis.
This would shock the ATP tour and question about an all Chile showdown in Rome.

I made a small bet on an all-Chilean final just for fun today. That would be fun. Jarry looked great yesterday. I'm more worried about Tabilo as Zverev has much more experience in later tournament stages.

As Trofo had mentioned above, some strange results in Rome to say the least.
So it is basically anyone's game at this point.
And with that being said I will go with both Chilean players to advance.

With what aoluain had also mentioned with Tabilo not dropping a set yet in this tournament, then him going farther is in his favor since his performance is far beyond than anyone else.
And his form thus far says it all.

Watched Sabalenka vs Ostepenko and her performance is improving since she didn't have a double fault until later in the second set. Which is an accomplishment for her.
So we just might see a number 1 vs a number 2 finals in Rome - Sabalenka vs Swiatek

I am a tennis super fan, and made lots of profits on tennis Grand Slam, but I seldom bet on other tournaments cause unexpected results happen easily, I don't wanna lose my money on them. I prefer 3 out of 5 sets matches, but not 2 out of 3 sets.

Wow I think with your perception you're a guru in tennis league and I want to explore more on this too and see the difference probably I can get amazing results and fun.
Iadide football game I want to put in more effort on another sport and I think tennis is the one I pick interest on and I'm sure gonna give it a try.
You quoted a post from 2015. I mean WTF man?

FFS - bringing up a post from "Page 1" from a member who hasnt been active since 2016

Some strange results in Rome this week. Tabilo having the best week of his tennis career. Managed to get him against Khachanov but I sort of expected him to lose today. WTA side easier to predict this time around. Got some nice money on Sabalenka and Collins today.

Yes Tabilo through to the semi finals and plays Zverev next, the guy hasnt dropped a set either.
Another stat is that he isnt the only Chilean in the semi's either, Jarry plays Tsitsipas today.

Both Chileans are underdogs but still strong contenders particularly Tabilo, over 21.5 @ 1.74
might be an ok bet on him.

Yea the tournament becomes a little more predictable when the top guys are not playing or
eliminated. Its not necessarily a bad thing though IMO.

Collins v Sabalenka, the odds are close enough to suggest another over bet 21.5 @ 1.8

Now Alejandro Tabilo who was the player who took out Novak Djokovic just might be taking out another one of those pros on tour Karen Khachanov, as he just took the first set.
The young Chilean player is looking like the surprise hopeful in this tournament in Rome.
That was a very close 2 set battle, Tabilo took the win in 2 tie breaks! He is a quarter
finalist now and takes on Zhang today. The odds on this one are Tabilo 1.59 - 2.34 Zhang.

I wasnt expecting Paul to beat Medvedev yesterday, Medvedev lost easily to Paul
6-1, 6-4. Paul plays Hurkacz next, hard to know which way this goes but its more than
likely going to be a 3 match encounter, Over 22.5 maybe @ 1.67
Watched both matches yesterday and Jarry won aswell.
Thus having both Chileans in the quarter finals is quite the achievement where Nadal and Novak were playing.
So these can be the new age of the sport if they can go farther into the tournament.
Roland Garros is just around the corner too so keep an eye on these two going into that tournament too.

Bye bye Dominic Thiem: he announced that this ATP tour 2024 will be the last of his career. He is 30 years old now and well, he earned around $30 million in prize money and he feels it is the right decision.

He has played some amazing games I think, but his trend was pretty much only negative in the last few years. Unbelievable that his last win on the ATP tour was this amazing match against Zverev in the US Open final. Best ranking ever was 3rd and he can say he won a Grand Slam. Sounds like a successful career to me. Can't compare everyone to Djokovic, Nadal and Federer.
Thats a real shame to hear. To retire during this tour and at such a young age but I guess he saw his performance on the court not improving as it hasn't the past couple of years from what I remember.

Those names are some of the best to ever play the game.
Djokovic and Nadal both left this tournament in Italy early unfortunately.

Now Alejandro Tabilo who was the player who took out Novak Djokovic just might be taking out another one of those pros on tour Karen Khachanov, as he just took the first set.
The young Chilean player is looking like the surprise hopeful in this tournament in Rome.
