5 hours long match! Well it's nice to see. I can't remember when was the last time I have seen a long match. I am interested to see a list of long matches in the tennis history.

I remember watching one of the longest last year with Isner (thought it was Baustia Augt for a minute) which was in a tiebreak and was 16 match points to win it in the fifth set or something like this.
But #5 was none other then Novak Djokovic and Rafal Nadal in 2012 Australian open which took 5 hours and 53 minutes.

I'm expecting this AO final to be another epic battle between two of the greatest players of all time and for me I'm think Djokovic will be the one to win as he has the edge on Nadal for a while now and also Djokovic is suited by Nadal's left handed playing style, that is why we see Djokovic play so well against Nadal while almost all other struggle. I can't wait for this but in the mean time we have the Women's final tonight which should be a good match as well. I think Osaka will win as she is so strong however Kvitova is playing some good tennis right now and being a 2 time Grand Slam winner, she can't be counted out.

That was like the best physical match I have ever seen till now . It would be great to see another match like that ( but I doubt it given both their ages and energy now ) but I am sure it is going to be a great match . So what do you guys think? 4 setter or 5?
When we come to women's side although Osaka looks calm , confident and stronger than Kvitova , I want Kvitova to win .

I'm a big Nole fan so I would go for him to win this year's Australian Open. He had Nadal's number, so he really knows how to play not just Nadal but against lefties so that is a advantage for him.

Also, Nole has this canny ability to to direct crosscourt backhands, very difficult for everyone you needed to be very agile to scramble and get a shot back. They have both tough mentally though, but I see Nole as the more aggressive between the two. So I think everyone is really expecting another great match but I wouldn't be surprise if Nole upstage Rafa again.

I was about to say why are posters here not interested on the women's side? A lot has been going on as well on the women, specially a lot of top seeds had exited as well. Osaka remains the favourite but you have to admire Petra Kvitová resiliency and comebacks.

This was indeed an amazing game. Loved every bit of it. I was already for Nole back then and I am really happy he got his shit together and is playing correctly again.

The Isner vs Anderson semis is one of the longest semis last year (Wimbledon), close to 7 hours. The 3rd set alone took almost 4 hours to be settled if I'm not mistaken. And this is the biggest reason why tournaments have change their rules specially on tie break sets so that this kind of marathon match could be avoided and give players time to rest for the next game.

So far we got two then. Here is another one (sorry my information is not complete though)

If my memory serves me right then I guess there was a match in O₂ arena in London in between tsonga v Nadal or Roger I guess. It was a long match. I really can not remember. I think tsonga lost finally.

Nadal is more athletic than Djokovic

He has always been . Nadal strength is his forehand right now and whereas for Djokovic its his defensive ability . Its really hard to predict who will win this , Djokovic has given 2 sets away whereas Nadal hasn't lost a set too . Its gonna be a great match , that's for sure.

Djokovic is 31 and Nadal is 32 not much age for both. If this was Roger then I would come to a conclusion based on your age your parameter.

But,
My opinion is that this is not the right parameter to use here. Both of these players proved themselves to be in the final. Both are legend even if this was Roger then he is also legend.

It surely will be exciting to see who wins.

Fight between number 1 and 2 in world ranking, it's hard to predict. Tennis is a game of one man show. In a good day a lower ranked player can bit a top 10 player. So, it's really hard to predict anything in advance. May be we need to wait until we see the first game.

I am looking forward to see an exciting match.

I'm hoping this up coming game between Djokovic and Pouille will be a lot closer then last nights game. Pouille has been playing some good tennis and could push Djokovic as he could be carry a slight back injury he sustained in his game with Medvedev, the extra rest should help Djokovic but sometimes the extra break doesn't count for much as these days the players are super fit and ready to go no matter what. Well I'm off as the game is about to start.

Well he lost the first set , tried to get too many free points if you ask me , he should have been more patient but now in the second set he is handling pace of Nadal a bit better but well we all know Nadal . I think this match will end in 3 or max 4 sets in favor of Nadal .

Yes. He crumbled to fast and didnt look like a match in the third set and didnt even win a game in that final frame.
His inexperience this far in a semi finals really did show in the game.
I would really like to see Pouille beat Djokovic because I see his style of play much like Nadal.
This would make for a more interesting finals then the same old Novak being in the finals like he was in every one of them several years ago.

Pouille has good mental attitude and works hard like Nadal yes but the thing is he is exhausted because he has played long matches in this open . The problem will be consistency , he should keep the energy consistent throughout the match .

Yes. He crumbled to fast and didnt look like a match in the third set and didnt even win a game in that final frame.
His inexperience this far in a semi finals really did show in the game.
I would really like to see Pouille beat Djokovic because I see his style of play much like Nadal.
This would make for a more interesting finals then the same old Novak being in the finals like he was in every one of them several years ago.

Tsitsipas did his best but he lost the first set and then he blacked out. If he was more experienced he could handle it differently. Also, Nadal's forehand is on fire in this tournament and I think that he will beat Djokovic in the final. He deserves that after the comeback of his injury and this will boost his morale for the next tournaments to come.

I'm not sure that Tsitsipas blacked out after the first set as he did show fight in the second set, I can't remember what game it was but he was down 0 - 40 in one of the games and fought back to win the game. I thought then that would give him the momentum to maybe win the second set but it didn't as Nadal was just too good for him. Then Nadal blew Tsitsipas away in the third set, we can see that Tsitsipas has a lot of talent but he still has a long way to go before winning a Grand Slam, maybe another year before we see him winning one. Nadal looks very hard to beat right now even if him faces Djokovic in the final and if they meet I'm sure its going to be another epic Grand Slam final.
