Once after the news from Tesla, the price has started to move forward crossing $42000. Musk is making a big change with the cryptomarket. From the beginning of the year bitcoin is getting influenced by high profile people. Every news rolling out related to bitcoin is positive and it making some difference in the market.

$1.5 billion in Bitcoin is just a beginning. The market circulation of bitcoin will go to the peak compared to the past, due to the acceptance of bitcoin as payment for Tesla products.

Some may have expected this, but I have to admit that this move surprised me quite a bit considering that how EM treated the whole thing via his twitter - and it all seemed rather frivolous and like some kind of joke. Some will say better ever than never, but some investors seem to invest their money only when the price of something rises significantly, as is the case with Bitcoin.

His money, his decision - but without a doubt this is a big bullish sign for all the other investors who have been hesitant so far. Now the only question is who is next on the list of those who will announce that they have bought BTC.

And I don't want to think badly about Elon Musk, but he became the largest shiller of cryptocurrencies in the last month.

This is surely the cause of the big leap of the price a moment ago and it jumped real quick to $43000. So, it is also strange that i have the hard time to access binance couple of minutes ago before i saw some post about tesla buying such large amounts of bitcoin.

Well, one of the easiest speculation of many at last come true. Being a memer, hyping doge and now finally accepting (soon) bitcoin/crypto.

I wonder how SEC will react of elon hyping/tweets of bitcoin soon after this.

Though $TSLA's marketcap is a whopping $807 billion, a $1.5 billion allocation to bitcoin with their $19.3 billion cash on hand is definitely nothing to scoff at. That's a 7.77% allocation. Hot damn.

EDIT: there's going to be a lot of post reporting in this thread. I guarantee it.

Tesla invested 1.5 Billion USD into Bitcoin and plans to include Bitcoin as a payment method.
Definitely the reason for prices soaring right now.

Bloomberg report:

Press release. Finally Elon Musk and Tesla publicly or undirectly announced they invested in bitcoin and maybe in crypto. Bitcoin is rising again by another celebrity. It is a year of news, pumps and dumps, social media are used as much as possible by whales.

So maybe Elon was already buying btc and doge even before the time that he was tweeting about crypto. And now, we are hearing that they just invested in bitcoin. I believe he also has a bunch of doge in his crypto portfolio and other important alts. Really great news to the crypto community, big boost in bitcoin price, finally surpassing the 41k mark.
Elon Musk likely bought crypto more than 1 year ago, up to 2 year when he began to make funny tweets with Dogecoin. Elon and Tesla give bitcoin a reason to claim its new all time high $43000

I was looking for the price right now in preev ~$42.5k and wondering what have I missed! That was a clever move from Tesla and Musk is one of the factors responsible for pumping the price lately. Wonder know if they will accept Doge too Wink

Several media outlets have now published about Tesla having invested 1.5 billion USD and that is a lot of money so obviously this is very good news as it has improved quite well now that btc has hit $ 42.6k possibly $ 50k soon in achieved.

I want to see how other companies will follow in the footsteps of Tesla, which is now fully adopting bitcoin? I am sure some companies will also invest in bitcoin after seeing this news.

I was about to post this in other thread where we were discussing the recent changes that Elon did to his profile on twitter (Regarding "bitcoin" in his profile) but I guess that this is a way too much important new that couldn't be buried on a thread.

For anyone that wants to see the official document : SEC filling.

What's more interesting further than Tesla betting on diversifying it's investments is this simple paragraph :

Quote
In January 2021, we updated our investment policy to provide us with more flexibility to further diversify and maximize returns on our cash that is not required to maintain adequate operating liquidity. As part of the policy, which was duly approved by the Audit Committee of our Board of Directors, we may invest a portion of such cash in certain alternative reserve assets including digital assets, gold bullion, gold exchange-traded funds and other assets as specified in the future. Thereafter, we invested an aggregate $1.50 billion in bitcoin under this policy and may acquire and hold digital assets from time to time or long-term. Moreover, we expect to begin accepting bitcoin as a form of payment for our products in the near future, subject to applicable laws and initially on a limited basis, which we may or may not liquidate upon receipt.

This my friends is the true gold in this latest filling. I truly believe that Elon will do whatever he can to push investors to gain enough traction/support to implement BTC as a payment for their cars. It will be quite a ride and it will prove quite hard indeed, but if there's one person that won't stop at nothing, it's Elon Musk himself.

Today is a good day guys!
