Their batsmen have enough pace and strength to give the target a hard time. On the other hand, England batsmen have scored 358 runs. Sri Lanka are playing their second innings. Their batsmen still have a chance to make their pace quick and strong enough to win this match. If they fail to do so, England have a chance to win the match. And my prediction says the same. And in the second innings, the Sri Lanka batsmen also lost 2 wickets in 3 overs and scored 10 runs. England will win this match.

Sri Lanka could not bat well in their first innings. The pitch was not bowling friendly. Sri Lanka's innings stopped at 236 runs. Collecting 300+ would make the match more competitive. Moreover, if the Sri Lankan bowlers had performed well, the match would have been more exciting. England managed to take a big lead of 122 runs in the first innings. Although England's innings stopped short of 300, Sri Lanka had a chance to perform well in the second innings and try to win the match.

Sri Lankan batsmen are not performing well in the second innings either. Sri Lanka lost four wickets to collect only 95 runs. Experienced batsmen like Dinesh Chandimal are out of the crease due to retired hurt. I would say it is difficult for Sri Lanka to score even 220 runs now. Now Sri Lanka's collection is 123 runs. I think the Bangladesh teams are making the runs in good style as they are not depending on the fours and sixes means they are not relying on the boundaries, in every ball they are trying to take runs and if one over they hit the boundary then in the next over, they were trying to play safe that was really good and help them to make a partnership.

By the way, I think the real pressure was on the Shadman Islam when he was batting on the 93 runs. He was too nervous at that time to play the balls of Naseem Shah and the other bowlers of Pakistan because for the second time, he was going to create his century in test but failed.

Jamie Smith rescues England once more. They were reduced to 187/5, but now they have crawled to 358. Both Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque have fallen. I think in Rawalpindi, the batting conditions are very much favored. Shadman got out after scoring 93 and Mominul Haque got out after scoring 50 runs. Currently, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan are on the crease. Most probably another draw is awaiting.

I don’t think the choice of declaring was a bad idea. Pakistan relied on the bad Bangladeshi batting form. They thought that they could get them out early and hoped for a chance to follow on. But as I have said, the condition is heavily favoring the batters. Previously, I thought only Mushfiqur Rahim would be the only one from Bangladesh team to get a decent score. But they have turned that around and proved me wrong which I am happy about. It is sad to see Shadman Islam miss his century though. Mehidy Miraz and Liton Das are yet to bat, but I don’t think Bangladesh will be able to get a lead in the first innings. Either way, I think this game would be a draw.

The match situation changed all of a sudden. Bangladesh was at 199/3, but then they lost two quick wickets - those of Shadman Islam and Shakib Al Hasan. Now they are 219/5. But the good news for them is that two of their most experienced batsmen are at the crease - Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das. Mehidy Hasan Miraz is to come next, and he can bat a bit as well. Khurram Shahzad has been good so far from the Pakistani side, but Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah have been disappointing.

The biggest regret I have is that Shadman Islam failed to score a century, even though he failed to score a century, I thank him because he gave the best batting performance for the Bangladesh team. Scoring 93 is the most challenging as no other player has performed so patiently. But I thought Shakib Al Hasan was the best but he failed in a short span of time. And get out and walk off the field but the Bangladesh team is at the most risk, because all the batsmen they have now are basically not attacking batsmen. I think it will never be possible to win with Pakistan team with this performance.

Zakir Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto were out early Mominul Haque is looking good at 31 runs. The big question is how close the Bangladesh team reaches the Pakistan first innings total.

Right now Bangladesh team is in a very good position. To be honest, I have not seen such responsible batting from Bangladeshi batsmen for a long time. At the moment, Bangladesh has collected 134 runs with the loss of only 2 wickets. Bangladesh lost their first two wickets very quickly. Shanto added only 16 runs and Zakir only 12 runs on the scoreboard. Zakir's strike rate was only 20. But his innings did not last long.

I watched the live broadcast of the first one day test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan. Bangladesh's bowling line-up was very aggressive till the first 16 overs, after that they could not bowl very aggressively against the Pakistani batsmen... heights today.

Bangladesh's fast bowlers did exceptionally well in the first hour of the play because of the grass and dampness of the pitch. They took 3 early wickets, but after the first hour balls came to the bat nicely and Pakistan batters took great advantage of the conditions. The pitch is perfect for batting and is way too flat to induce a result. I think this test match series will end up in a draw until we see some heroics from the bowlers.

The target for the Bangladesh team is a huge one but so far so good for them. Scoring 111 runs and losing only two wickets is not a bad start at all. Other teams may have panic lost many wickets because of the pressure of 400+ runs by the other team but Bangladesh batsmen showing a good deal of resistance to the Pakistan bowlers.

The opener from Bangladesh, Shadman Islam , is batting on 48 and will get his 50 soon. Bangladesh would want him to score a big 100 and make life easy for their team. Zakir Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto were out early Mominul Haque is looking good at 31 runs. The big question is how close the Bangladesh team reaches the Pakistan first innings total.
