there is no point of having uncapped supply...

if everyone buys from ICO, then who will buy at exchange
They want to grab as much as they can, why they care about trading later. They got their fund in BTC or ETH, that's good enough, lol

Exactly.... Theyve already been paid enough to retire with.... Who cares about what happens the tezos

Bancor tanked on the exchanges. Status will tank when it hits the exchanges. So will this one.
Hyped icos are NO BUENO

Facts would be nice.  Bancor did not "tank" from the ICO price.  ICO price for Bancor was .01 ETH.  Currently Bancor (BNT) is priced a little over .01 ETH on Bittrex.  It actually went as high as .049 ETH on the first day, when it hit exchanges.

So in your alternative reality, yes it tanked.  But in the true history of events, it only "tanked" because it shot up 5x over the original ICO price for a short period.

I love how people like to spread mis-information based on what pleases their own beliefs the most.  Typically these are people who enjoy losing money on crypto and have only had bad experience after bad experience, never learning their lessons.  LOL.

P.S. I've invested in several ICOs now, and I have not lost a penny in any of them.  Yet, in all those ICO threads, people spread the same FUD.  Kept saying it will crash at the exchange, that it's a scam, that it's never going to turn an investment profit.  I've learned to drown out the noise, and the only reason I respond is to help others ignore the incessant bullshit.  In fact, my worst ROI so far was 4x.

P.P.S.  The day ICOs start to lose money and become real scams is when the government gets involved and begins regulating them.  That is the day I will stop investing.

It went from $4 usd to below $3 usd. People like you don't know how to measure this vapor.
The point is ico buyers were and still are in the red. Status will be much worse, all they did was take an old idea and make their name sound like stratis. Unbelievable the stupidity of todays ico buyers.
The reason Stratis and Iota were such great returns is they didn't raise shit in their icos. Buying a hyped ico in the hundreds of millions is beyond retarded.
MY opinoin is that u cant compare startis iota even eth  to tezos they have big wals behinde thats the deal Goldmansachs MorganStanley etc
So eth startis and iota are smal fishes on the pond compared to that just remind google facebook  they wasent the first  they copy paste olso the platform but waht is yet i think, that will be the BIG ONE just my Opinoin the history repeated it self Cheesy

Nice  first post lol
Congratulations..
Tezos must be proud to have you onboard Wink

Those using Ethers to enter TEZOS ICO, dont forget to use your public key in the data option otherwise you cant be mapped with your Tezos address..

"You MUST provide the associate the following data to the transaction, otherwise the fund cannot be associated to your Tezos wallet."

Can you explain what you mean here? Underneath that message there is a key, so at where do I need to give them that key? I don't know what you mean by "data option".

If you're using MyEtherWallet, the Send Ether and Tokens page has three fields: address, amount and gas limit.
Below those fields there's a link that reads "+Advanced: Add Data". Click it and then paste your personal transaction data into that field. Then generate your transaction and send.

Tezos won't be tradable for 6 months.

And, they reserve a right to never actually release any tokens:

"The Contributor understands and accepts that while the individuals and entities, including involved entities assigned to this task, will make reasonable efforts to develop and complete the Tezos Network, it is possible that such development may fail and that the Tezos Network and any XTZ will not be created, become useless and/or valueless due to technical, commercial, regulatory or any other reasons."

Goodluck everyone!  Shocked

Yes good luck to all those who "invested" (read: gambled), you will have fun. I won't participate in this conditions: locked for 6 months, and uncapped ICO. Simply sounds crazy to me. To the best, this is one of the coin startup, if immediately release maybe I'd do a gamble as the hype goes crazy now, even under this condition the bancor goes red (yes someone said at one point it was 4x, but can you dump there? I bet your coins were not even in your trading account that time, just look at these init pop for many shitcoins).

If btc is $5k when Tezos hits the exchanges and then it dumps to half ico price that is indeed a train wreck ico.
But, if you weren't in any hurry and didn't mind watching your investment hit the skids for awhile you would probably end up with profit. Let's hope for the investors sake this scenario doesn't happen.

is it advisable to wait for bitcoin to drop to $2000 before participating in the ico...The 20% bonus amount to around $500 per bitcoin

A better strategy would probably be hold btc until December when it will be $5k and then buy tezos then from an exchange if you really must....

Good advice, tezos would be over sold anyway. There will be cheaper bargain on the exchange.

Bitmex is already allowing futures trading on XTZ/BTC trading

They are also stating "The Tezos platform is still under development. It is expected that Tezzie tokens will be available for trading in the secondary market by the expiry date of XTZZ17, 29 December 2017 12:00 UTC."

So they're expecting XTZ to be on exchanges by the end of the year

By that time the btc and Eth you paid to tezos will likely have doubled in price, making your tokens effectively cost double.....
Will be interesting to see the rekt on this one

Yeah, I'm not trying to steer people one way or another, I was simply providing everyone the only information that I found in regards to a rough estimated time frame of when these coins may hit exchanges on secondary market.

I think it could reach a couple bucks but not until after a huge shakeout way below ico price. Assuming it takes in half a billion or more. If it stays under $200m I'll be buying if not no way.
I doubt it'll reach a couple bucks if it really raises that much money, the main reason why ethereum is worth so much is that other people run dapps and ICOs on it.  It's much harder to develop for Tezos so it's mostly useful for mission critical type transactions for financial institutions, but those institutions likely don't trust public blockchains.

I haven't seen anywhere where there was any sort of specific Dollar amount that they were looking to raise.   It is just like a "let's see how much we can raise"   or was there any sort of soft target at least?

I would definitely say that it has been a huge first 12 hours for the Tezos team.   That earlier popcorn .gif perfectly depicts what the couple is probably doing right now...wouldn't you?
Heh, their original goal was something like $10 million with $20 million being their dream goal.  So much for that, lol.

I think Tezos is overhyped. Maybe a quick pump to very high prices and then dump and then bounce to a lower high and then a downslide to sub ICO prices  for a long time.

The only hype anytime soon is the ico itself. It will hit the exchanges and dump for a long time, only to rise like a phoenix from the flames. IOW don't say I didn't warn ico buyers.
