Well, it's good to join recommended airdrops. search for a project with good bounties.
Be alert with scammers, check before joining them.
Ask for someone if they know an airdrop cause i know that inviting someone has additional token.
It'll be a win win situation for the both of you.

Someone suggested this strategy a few months bank and I rightly predicted that it wouldn't be worth your time and loss of privacy. I think the point here is that, those who somehow ended up being part of a good airdrop would probably have had to spend a lot of time and effort anyway... would it have been worth it? If you like playing with luck and gambling, sure why not?

I think airdrops are like any crypto project. Invest time in the ones you believe in. If it works out, good for you. And the time period you're looking at is years... not months.

Exact.
You are right:

It is time that people here understand this.
You merit a merit point.

Thank you for that, it was actually my first! I think people have really forgotten how long it took for Bitcoin to get recognized, and even after almost ten years it still has to fight for every inch of recognition and acceptance, even after millions have adopted it for its use of non-trust based peer to peer transactions. Now with people getting rich from quick ICO schemes that haven't even brought any notable change, people seem to demand for quick results. Time. Effort. Crypto is not different from any project that requires love and attention.

Over the holiday break I did approximately 80 airdrops.

I went out and checked each one that I completed over the last few days and the results were pathetic.  Almost every single one was a scam and is worth 0.  The few that stuck around had "speed" swaps where you had limited time to swap and even those are worth next to nothing.

Seems as though trading may be a more profitable way about making money in the crypto world.  Did I hit a bad stretch there?  Anyone having airdrop success in late 2017 - early 2018?

You need to work smart not only work hard. This is also one of the rules on cryptocurrencies.
Filtering those airdrop is very important than just filling out any airdrop link you see but its worth nothing. It will only waste your time.

Like this week even i only found out 8 airdrops and only landing 2 airdrops coin. But now it price reaches total $50

So far, personally, I have ended all the airdrops - failures, but my friend, at the end of 2017 came interesting coins, which for a given moment are gradually growing and accordingly make my friend several times richer.

Tokens from airdrops take some time to have its value. It is obvious that airdrop is for free, you can have it easily. But if it's taking you so much time to register and participate in an airdrop, then it's not worth it for me.
I have joined some good airdrops last year but a good airdrop is just 10% or less to the total airdrop existed, imo.

Airdrops are completely free so you can do as many airdrops as you want.

If you want to choose the best airdrops then you have to do research before airdrops so that you get only the best airdrops.

You right man a big part of free airdrops are scams but some of the are not, you can find some Free airdrop here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0,
However pay attention some of the are cleary scam, with strange link, don't download strange files.
Generally free airdrop posted by trusted people are trusted airdops, airdrop posted by copper users are trust, airdop posted by low rank is hard to tell but use the rule, if they ask eth, leave the airdrop good companies don't need your 0.01eth to increase their value!

Different thing is airdop for bounty. They are generally more trusted but you can be scammed even here.
The biggest free airdrop joined gives to me around 20$

The biggest problem with airdrops is not being given the promised money. You are trying your luck and you are participating. If you are lucky, your money is deposited in your wallet a few months later.
But in general the gain is minimal Smiley

I participate in the airdrop from the beginning of December 2017, I can say one thing, behind three months only a miserable penny, or dead tokens on a MEW purse. I'm lucky Grin

You should be doing bounties instead of joining these free airdrops because they are all unworthy tokens, most of these tokens wont make in in a single exchanges but the tokens you will receive from the bounties has more potentials because they are morelikely one step away from exchanges, the developers of these ICOs are has mo chance to be accepted in exchanges.

I don't do airdrops. I earned most of my coins to bounties and trading. As your post says, you are joining a very bad airdrops. check their project, ann or whitepapers first before joining. then look or the less look scam.
Oh I'm not a billionaire and I have not enough time to research every Airdrops. Smiley
As we know almost all of them bring just pennies. My time is my money.

i think that is the problem with eth ,  it is way to easy to create a useless token. they just create it in the hope it is gonna be worth something , also way to many multiple accounts in these airdrops.

There are some gems you can rarely find in airdrops. For example I partecipated in both the HAT airdrop and BTW one, but those are only 2 between the almost 100 airdrops I got into in late 2017.

Now I stopped doing them because it's pretty much a waste of time to get into because there is a really super low chance that the project turns out to be good.

Most people just joined airdrops campaign just for the sake of it, if a project lacks good community and substance it will have no value, I don't think people need to be complaining about Airdrop price since it is free, all you do is just to fill a form. Next time check the quality of the project before joining them
Checking the quality of an airdrop campaign is the necessary thing to do if you want to have a good profits.
Only stupidity doesn't want the profits or want to get the trash after working .
Complaining about airdrop price looks very weird because i knew some guys make a lots of money from only airdrop.

That is why it it free, me too have applied on some airdrop and just tried. Whenever I apply on an airdrop I don't expect anything. However, some airdrops are worth it. I was able to get a good coin from an airdrop and held it since then, it's price is continuing to grow. The best way for you to not to get hurt is just to apply for an airdrop and do not expect anything.

The best airdrops of last 2 months were Polymath, Theta, Shipchain and Coinfi.

And it's not too late, try register in one more promising project - Current Airdrop. This project decided to cancel ICO and will distribute their tokens by airdrop. This is a very cool project, but I'm not sure if there are still free places for new participants.

Polymath and shipchain wanted KYC.  Not sure on the other 2.  No way am I sending in my documents to these projects.
Nor should you.  That goes very much against the spirit of what crypto means.

On the other hand, those places are probably good airdrops and are among a minority that actually pay out.  I've never participated in an airdrop and never will.  It's too much like claiming from faucets or gambling.   Too much effort and risk, and the chance of payout is very slim.  Not for me.  If only everyone in the altcoin section valued their time and sanity as much as I do.

You people keep getting taken over and over by essentially the same scam, just dressed up in a different wig every time.  Smarten up.

I can only add to what has been said before.
And considering the time you spend on airdrops (80+ still takes some time) I wonder if participating in 5 bounties wouldn't get you more result, costing you about the same time.
Try to find a bounty campaign that is well organised, has a professional website and a solid whitepaper. Then check if there is a community (telegram, twitter, etc).
If you find such a bounty in it's early stages, you'll have a better chance making money.

Why are you wasting your precious time to these free airdrops? while you can participate social bounty campaigns, which will give you more chance to have free money from nothing instead of wasting your time with free drops start participate in social media campaigns, you will only be required to use your social media accoutns like fb and twitter account to promote these ICOs,then you will get your tokens after the ICO which you can trade with bitcoin or ethereum.

Well it might have been a bad streak and you were just unlucky but i think you're right for the most part.  A lot of airdrops are scammy and just don't give enough to go off of.
