Fucker of "the system"
I think the premise of this conversation is a bit malformed. Altcoins can thrive in 2016 and its not just about smart contracts and colored coins. There is still opportunity for economies to be developed around self monetizing platforms and altcoins are the perfect vehicle. My project is doing just that we are going to monetize peoples thoughts and ideas. It takes BTC talent and absolutely no fucking care about how much money you have to throw down a hole to reach your goal.  If developers can get their heads out of their asses and quit trying to dump on each other and actually try to build something, an altcoin can do big things.

That's sweet.

I did not start this topic to rate or analyze any of the examples I gave. If there are flaws (and there may or may not be) I can't judge if they can be solved or not. I can't judge if what you say is true or not. Everyone can claim things, spread FUD or be the real deal.

I'm only noticing the "unlimited altcoin cloning" days are over and people are moving away to (future) projects that try to change or disrupt existing markets.

BOOM you hit it right on the head friend. sounds like you understand the level the game is at... come Build a BUBBLE

The OP could use a makeover.

Are you serious about this project? I can't really tell by looking at it.

yea im dead serious.

Very astute.

Btw, Bubble is sort of headed in the right direction, but I am thinking you lack marketing experience. I mean you lack the experience to be able to analyze the difference between an idea and a market (unless your marketing is to speculators and not to an adoption market, in which case I see the cleverness of your approach).

If you want to succeed in adoption markets, you might consider partnering with someone like me who has that experience. But then again, I am not that interested in partnering. I am  more interested in interopting where each developer owns their own project in a mutual ecosystem. I don't like being responsible for someone else's coding/code. I prefer modules and economically separated as well. Finding a well matched partner for co-founding a project is very difficult for me, because I am not socializing in real life with coders. I am far away on an island.

Well damn, if altcoins are a-dyin, we've had quite a beginning to 2016!  DOGE, the love of my life, has explodedodeed to 'round 77 satoshis and I could not be happier.  And other ones are off the charts as well.  I am not delusional for the most part, so I know the bubble might crash soon, but still.  It pays to hope.

Please make it clear that I am not making any arguments about the capacity of speculators to mine themselves in the greater fool paradigm. That is a phenomenon that started 6000 years ago and it won't ever stop.

What gets me frustrated are when people write that Ethereum is technologically solid and will overtake Bitcoin. That is BS that I feel compelled to respond to.

As for the recent altcoin pump, it is normal. It always happens after Bitcoin makes a sudden rise because people take profits in BTC and want to deploy their profits to another pump. Eventually the liquidity of new fools is insufficient to sustain the pump and it collapses. Happened every damn time.

Just don't get caught holding the bag when the music stops playing (liquidity withers) because then it will fall like a knife and you won't be able to sell.

Enlighten us, and do it in a way that us noobs can understand.

I know of no way to explain the complex technological issues in a way that n00bs won't make dumb misinterpretations of and proclaim I am wrong. I'd waste another years foruming to address all the erroneous misunderstandings and proclamations.

It is better that dumb money be thrown down the drain than waste my time.

I have better use of my time in terms of production.

Those readers who want to educate themselves, will not be so lazy. And will take the time to study and learn what I have written. C'est la vie.

I think the big change will be the switch from PoW (that doesn't scale) to PoS (which may)

Based on your posts above, you are ostensibly a n00b and do not understand the technological issues.

PoS doesn't solve the verification scaling problem (see my links in my prior post) and it has egregious flaws.

Why do you n00bs write stuff that you have no knowledge about! Do you enjoy deluding yourselves  Huh

What makes you think altcoins can't switch code bases to Ethereum or some other blockchain 2.0 technology? It's a trivial task.

There is a lot of potential for altcoins. Unlike bitcoin which can't change/update itself. Altcoin can change with ease. I see huge potential for altcoins that have strong developers behind them.

Let's start this by making myself a little less popular, saying: the altcoin scene will die in 2016

It is quite possible that the altcoin market will be devasted by a potential decline of Bitcoin to < $150 and perhaps well below $100, because we have an unexpected global contagion coming that will be worse than 2008 when everything crashed. As we all know, when Bitcoin's price gets a flu, altcoins' prices go into comas.

Are there any exceptions?

Yes, there are!

Coins that offer unique decentralized services, "Blockchain 2.0" or other disrupting technology will be the buy-and-holds for 2016.

Some examples?

- Ethereum | Decentralized software & smart contracts on the blockchain
- Factom | Honesty to record-keeping
- Voxelus | Virtual Reality without coding
- Radium | Decentralized Services on the smartchain
- MaidSafe | Crowd-sourced internet
- Synereo (AMP) | Decentralized social network
- Sia | Decentralized storage

All those coins are doomed to fail due to insoluble fundamental technological issues which they didn't solve which render those coins entirely useless:

Surprise surprise a self-modded topic by a scammy little shit coin supporting pussy..

I recall 2/3 years ago you admitting to downloading every altcoin that came out.
You even got hit with a virus because of your glee to flash mine them all.
You then posted about it here and who you were an idiot for running the "Windows QT"
And told us all how you got infected with a keylogger attached to a coin Wallet.

So ?

They are dead because guys like you utterly destroyed Crypto.
Your supporting every shit coin that came along just fueled the fire for more.

NOW ?

You post Altcoins are dead and try and push some new retard scheme about 'chains  Roll Eyes
Which is a retarded joke by the way.. we came here for "Currencies"

You have no good reason to self mod this topic aside from jamming your hypocritical STUPID views on us all.

This topic is retarded and i would have rather had you post a topic taking credit for ruining crypto than this bullshit.
Why would i listen to a guy who is dumb and ruined a good thing we had going ?
Sorry but your self-modded opinions are dog shit so STFU.

Most of you here are fucking idiots .
Taking advice from people here is sure fire way to get scammed and ripped off and have to wander off broke later.

EDIT:
You idiots out there can take responsibility for this scene situation !
BUT YOU WON'T !
I said years ago when it was getting popular it would end this way.. i predicted it in advance.
I also said none of you would take any responsibility for it later after you fucked shit up.
And here we are.. "I told you so"  Cool

Yup i am the only smart one here .

You sound a bit angry or frustrated to me.

It's not like my topic is going to change anything on what's happening already.
The days of "clone another pump & dump coin" are over.

I'm not the one who set this in motion, just a spectator drawing this conclusion.

Don't shoot the messenger if you don't like the message.

Thanks for the heads-up; I only focussed on ETH and AMP as 'capable' coins. I've noticed AMP is still rather cheap, but it seems the developers are busy laying the foundation to give the altcoin in question a further boost in multiple ways.

What sort of boost do you think we can give AMPs aside from working to develop the framework, social platform, and partnerships with other app developers who'll use our platform? Smiley

Well, I assume all those factors will culminate into a higher profile among a broader audience and therefore a rising value. I cannot deny the 'greedy' part in me and admit that I've bought a bunch of AMP's with profit as a goal, but I also think its not another crapcoin.

Got out of ETH though for the time being, I suspect a (temporary) drop soon.

Let's start by making myself a little less popular by saying: the altcoin scene will die in 2016

But we have to be realistic about it... They are too easy to generate, there are too many to even keep up with the launches, they don't seem to offer (much) improvement over Bitcoin and end up being a complete waste of time and money.

Even established coins like Litecoin will have a tough time surviving since they offer nothing but being "another clone of Bitcoin with some fancy algo that wasn't GPU and ASIC proof after all".

Are there any exceptions?

So... Shut up and take my money!?!?

Nope...

Before you invest in any project, do your research!

Don't invest anymore than you are willing to lose and beware of the trolls!

these coins you mentioning above are call altcoins so if altcoin scene is dead then these coin should be dead

Hence the word "exceptions".
