You can't delete files based on a time set. Let alone on auto-deletion, you can't even delete any uploaded file on portals(Skynet).

As of now, the only time a file gets deleted is if there are no portals that pinned(stored) the file. So your uploaded file cant be deleted and edited. That's how the Skynet works.

Regarding file deletion, Many Skynet portals haven't yet fully support file deletion/unpin, even if there are some portals that have that feature, there is a chance your file still exists in the network if only some portals still keeping it.

Sia keeps being developed maturely, thanks to them since they have been in the game for a long time. I don't think it would stop making any improvement since the cloud storage market is predominantly lead by centralized big tech. Any solid project that offering a decentralization of storage will compete to offer a better option for the mainstream, it surely the possibility won't end on the specific timeframe you mentioned.

Those are 2 completely different projects, one is focused on smart contracts, other on decentralized storage

I personally haven't encountered that problem, but a quick search able to see others that have a similar problem like you.

Unable to send funds from my wallet, no broadcast summary
Cannot send out Siacoin from Sia-UI
Take a look there, you might find some suggestions.

Also, if you still having that problems after trying the linked above suggestions or want to send the coins ASAP, maybe you can try to use the Siacoin lite web wallet, AFAIK you can recover the seed from the Sia UI to the web wallet.

Does anyone have experience integrating Sia with Nextcloud?

I tried to pair Sia and Nextcloud for personal cloud storage, but I can't find any apps integrations for it. I do notice https://gitlab.com/NebulousLabs/Sia-Nextcloud, but the project no longer maintained. I haven't try to use that, did anyone have tried it and it still works?

I found the idea of decentralized data storage very promising.

Well, I’ve known Sia for a few years. I think it is a very innovative platform that has a promising future ahead!
But unfortunately, I feel Sia is undervalued and does not have the recognition that it should have.

In your opinion, what can Sia do to become more valuable and be better recognized in the "world of cryptocurrency" and have greater adoption by people?

It has been a while since I have been aware of Sia's events for reasons related to my study.
Is there any kind of improvement on the platform?
What are the goals in future?

Sia, in my opinion, is a very undervalued asset at the moment. Even despite the difficulties the team faced in the past, we can still see that sia is actively developing and I think that in the future we will see more user interest in SkyNet and cloud storage. Everyone has their own opinion, but I see the potential for sia in the future.
