I am selling my 4chip slot for 1BTC right now, 1st and 2nd half of the payments paid.
This is hashing power equal to 4 x 4 GH/s = 16 GH/s

You can PM me if you are interested.

Is mrteal getting these chips you have bought already ? / I'm looking for 4 chips right now
I already have 4 chips paid in full and would like another 4 chips only if they have been paid with mrteal and are getting shipped to mrteal
please let me know

I am selling a lot of chips, and they are being delivered with this batch. If someone else wants to buy (8n + 4) chips from me then I will happily sell you the extra 4, but otherwise I obviously can't split boards down. I will let you know if that happens. GL!

good idea i was wondering why my 3 bfl devices only showed the one highest temp on the top part of bfgminer but shows all the temps next to the BFL0 BFL1 BFL2 devices

Note that I'm struggling with the best way to indicate individual board (and CHIP!) temperatures as I'm reporting an average right now.

In my client's GUI I show the highest of the two temperatures reported by BFL devices. Maybe you should do the same, using the highest value instead of average. This way, if one chip gets very hot that won't be hidden in a slightly higher average.

Hi DrHaribo, it currently uses the same protocol as BFL and uses the FTDI VCM drivers (or the WinUSB ones for cgminer). We're looking at ways to extend the protocol to allow the extra features / reporting available on the Chili to be exposed through the mining software.

Z-Link isn't yet. I'll let Chip Geek explain that better.

It should probably work with my mining client without modifications then. Thanks for the information. Smiley

It says custom code. Does it still use the same protocol over a virtual serial port to be compatible with the same mining clients that support BFL's products?

What about Z-Link, how is that exposed over the protocol?

The protocol is the same as BFL's protocol except for X-link vs. Z-link.

As MrTeal stated, Z-link firmware is not fully functional yet but the plan is for it to be completely invisible to any mining software.  In other words, there is no "@XY" stuff to address a specific board.  To the mining software, it will simply appear as a single mining unit with N x 30GH/s hashing power where N = number of boards.

Note that I'm struggling with the best way to indicate individual board (and CHIP!) temperatures as I'm reporting an average right now.  It would seem it would be best to extend / modify the protocol to support individual chip temperature reporting.  The other obvious potential problem is:  Will any mining software complain if the processor list in the ZCX command is longer than 16?  Or engines is more than 256?  We can always abandon Z-link if it turns out to be a bad idea.  The incremental cost for the hardware is quite small.

I will follow up with PMs later to keep this thread clean from this topic for now.  (But right now, I have some more code to finish up...  Smiley )

Great job much cheaper than current alternatives.  What hash rate have you been able to push all 8 chips to?

What we need for make it hash?
Only fan cooler or thermal tape? Also

MrTeal, et al...

Great job!!

I have additional chips arriving in November.  Will you still be selling the boards then?  I would love to get more boards!

For those looking for coolers for these units, to save you all the research, this one is compatible, high performing, cheap and can be bought with BTC! Cheesy

So unless you're going for water-cooling this is probably the way to go:

Looking very good MrTeal!  You two did a very good job from the looks of it.

Got a question about shipping from those of us that were in the group buy and paid $56 a chip vs $50 Actual cost and that extra $6 per chip was to be for shipping our completed boards correct?  For Example my 32 chips X $6 (Extra per chip) = $192 Extra which is a pretty good chunk of change and would surely hope we don't have to pay anymore for a reasonable US shipping option.

Thanks again.

Owner, Minersource.net
@Ridicuss, shapemaker and any others:

I have a lot of chips, fully paid for and being delivered with the group buy that I am open to offers for. They are already being delivered straight to MrTeal for assembly in the first batch, so no escrow/address changes would be necessary either, so it would be a very simple transaction.

They will be part of the first assembly batch that MrTeal is discussing, so this is a chance for a total queue jump, with chips delivered as he was saying in the next few days. As I said, I have a lot of chips, but not an infinite amount, and I don't necessarily want to sell them all, but PM me if this is of interest to anyone and we can discuss. Multiples of 8 only obviously!

One thing I will say though, is that any sale must not inconvenience MrTeal in any way, as selling these on was not part of my original deal with him. I don't want splitting orders to be of any inconvenience to him whatsoever, and the logistical stuff can be a real pain. This might mean having all my miners assembled and shipped somewhere (within the US) first and then the order split and shipped on to people so as not to cause any hassle. This would be done with a respected member of the community though, and I'm just saying it now, both to forewarn people, and to reassure MrTeal that this will not be an annoyance to him as he has been super helpful and super professional through everything (as I'm sure you can tell from the OP!)

Hashrate & powerdraw Huh

Probably depends on the number of chips. Looks like you could put up to 7 chips on there, but I imagine it would work with 2-6 also.

Nice work.
