if you are going to donate 10 btc to the society, may as well split the 10 btc between everyone who posted here.

It's been a day and I have received no free coins.

Is this the type of person we need in our 'community'? Promising free coins and then not following through.

Me thinks Calme was bluffing, not a man of his word.

OH well, if he did try to leave his private keys and wallet and I got my hands on it, I surely would've put a little stocking stuffer increasing the value of the 10 BTC wallet to show how good this community could be.

Too late though!  Deals off now...

why dont you leave your wallet on a public bench for 10 days and see what will happen?

Maybe I will. If the wallet on the public bench holds more money after ten days, I'll know it's a good community.

What community are you talking about? There is no community, just a lot of individuals with their own thoughts and ideals who happen to share an interest in Bitcoin.

+1

and you are sure you lose all you BTC...

just read all the scams around here...

there are a child board too...

do you really think that here we are all honest?

I'm not sure if the community will take those Bitcoin or put in more.. But this should be posted in Games and Round or Meta. Not here.

Anyway, someone who dont have a Bitcointalk account can just steal you Bitcoin. This forums is not a private forums.

I don't know if you're serious or just trolling OP but if you're serious DON'T DO THIS. This is just an open forum with all sort of people and if you really want to throw away your money best donate it to charity, there are people around the world who are still dying of hunger.

That reminds me of a film I once saw, 'Gone in 60 seconds'

Make that microseconds,
don't do it buddy, donate it to EFF or the Bitcoin foundation, or some kickstarter project, or the Darkwallet group.

Maybe I will. If the wallet on the public bench holds more money after ten days, I'll know it's a good community.

So if you find a wallet on the street/bench you would just put some more money in it and leave it there? Yeah, I believe you.

Your going to judge a large community like BCT based on an individual who steals 10 BitCoin.

I'd argue that it's not theft to sweep funds on private keys which are intentionally revealed to the public.
...

This.

Intentional revealing public key is nothing but the giveaway. Picking up those BTC wouldn't have anything to do with stealing. Again, "intentionally" is a keyword here.

don't leave a wallet.  just leave a stack of $100 bills equating to 10 btc.  see how it goes then in your disney land private and gated community.

Whether your bitcoin is still there or not after 10 days how will that help to tell you whether this community is where you wanna be. What's the logic behind it?

Thought that would be obvious, if it's gone he's surrounded by thief's.

No need for the test the chances are high you are surrounded by them  Undecided

Tomorrow I will post the private key for a wallet holding 10 BTC.

Then, I will check the balance after ten days.

That will tell me if this is a community I want to be a part of.

There are previous examples where large amount of BTC was returned by community members...

1. 267 BTC was returned by johoe => http://www.coindesk.com/good-samaritan-blockchain-hacker-returned-255-btc-speaks/

2. 225 BTC was returned by firedcat => http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1lb5my/asicminer_refunds_the_accidental_200_btc/

3. 20 BTC was returned by cloudmining.website => https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/sent-20-btc-by-mistake-please-help-938228

In all the above cases, the fund got into good hands of the community. But, if you put it open to all, your fund is only safe if someone swipe it out immediately and then return in a later state. So, do not post the private key, unless you want to lose it out...
