Bitcoin and other alts losing ~10% is not a huge problem that would cause chaos. If you check the price chart of Bitcoin you'll see that there's more bigger dips than what we are experiencing now. The only reason you're saying this is because you're still new and haven't seen the price lose more than this. This is just the start if this is the first time you've seen crypto having bad days and prepare for more of these so you won't over react next time.

The Apocalypse is quite a big word which the user has associated with crypto. Crypto Apocalypse will mean that everyone is running from crypto market and everything is destroyed people are running for their money and every currency is on the corner of getting destroyed. But luckily things like these have never taken place and probably will never take place considering the development of new coins and acceptance by various companies it shows the bright future rather than the Apocalypse of crypto.

all you have to do is to be patient. It happens almost every year and people want to dump their coins in order to collect many cheap coins. If you sell your coin, you will contribute to the dump and suffer a huge loss. You need to understand that cryptocurrency will soon become a part of our world. Therefore, we need to keep buying and holding

I think it's natural, because indeed in the market conditions always show up and down the price, I agree with you, if the price continues to rise there may be no traders who buy, that there may be they will continue to sell. In my opinion, going up and down is a natural thing.

I don't think, that it's apocalypse, this is only really bad momment for crypto. This month looks really bad. It's rather temporary and soon everything will be back to normal.

What is going on to the market? The prices had gone down sharply, especially Etherium at -12.47% and Bitcoin at -8.14% and there seems no stop to that decrease, as for now. Any idea what could have happened? Some news affected the rate, or maybe it's just the overall market mood.

P.S. Maybe it has nothing to do with that, but Facebook shares grew quite a lot in the recent 48 hours.
It is usual in the market bro!
Don't be worried because market has always ups and downs. As of now, we should keep patience on holding our coins and buy some coins in the market. Apocalypse will not happen, if all of us will hold and buy coins in cryptocurrency market.

LOL at Facebook shares gaining--this is a company based on appropriating your personal data and enslaving millions of people in the social media trap and a company that will likely never pay a dividend.

As far as bitcoin goes, these are normal fluctuations although the drop from the ATH was pretty steep.  ETH is probably a screaming buy at this point, as are some of the bigger-name altcoins.  If only I had a few thousand dollars to play with.

There's been a worse red market not so long time ago, so relax. I think all the following year each time BTC will increase in price by 15-20% it will drop right away, because non-experienced holders, who invested in BTC when it was about 20k and were scared by what happened then in Jan-Feb 2018 will sell it.

I doubt that there is a correlation between facebook's share prices, and bitcoin prices. Even though facebook has indeed banned crypto ads, it shouldn't result in such a massive and dramatic inverse correlation all of a sudden.

What we're seeing right now is merely a continuation of the bear market from the start of the year.

There was a pretty big rally last month that got people out and FOMO buying - but if you look at the long term cycle of bitcoin prices, there is still a long way to go before the recovery comes.

I would not call it an apocalypse at all, it's something that is expected as it is simply a part of the bear market that bitcoin goes through every so often. Plus, price has not been as volatile as the 2014 crash if you compare historical data.

I think that whoever gives out specifically has brought down Kriptorynok. The most optimistic guess is that it is due to the fact that whoever gives out wants to do well and to buy a lot, and to visit a very cheerful guess, it is that whoever gives out wants to "close" the market, as he, interferes with his interests.

In my opinion you are also affected by the news and posts in social media about Cryptocurrency because the current down trend looks normal for me, and you don't need any kind of explanation for that. When the market is down you think that every news and FUD is affecting the prices to go down but if its on a up trend you think that good news are affecting it to go up, but the truth is when we are talking about cryptocurrency prices the only thing we can trust is their charts in which we can base our predictions on.

Apocalypse? Well, Bitcoin is moving around 7-9K for a while now, decreasing on the last days yes but nothing new in terms of volatility of the crypto market.

this drop may have been the result of the news about US launching an investigation into manipulation in cryptocurrency markets. and because people knew that there is lots of manipulation around they panicked an started selling and caused the latest drops. and whenever that happens to bitcoin the others follow it harder like it is a race Cheesy

however, i wouldn't still call this "apocalypse"!

Hahaha. Maybe you posted this 'CRYPTO APOCALYPSE" thread because you are one of the newbies panicking right now saying "Bitcoin has no stop in dropping, it will go down WAAAAAAA!!!!". If you are new to bitcoin then you need to know that this is just a massive market correction and its normal and in fact, it gives us the opportunity to accumulate more coins. Buy the dip lols.

It just the natural market mood. If you are conversant with the market, you will notice that some times it goes up, sometimes, it goes down. Recently there haven't been any FUDs that might  cause the price down..so it's just a normal market float. You shouldn't be expecting the price of bitcoin to always go up without going down.

crypto has been decreasing since the start of the year, so no relation to facebook. Let's forget about falling prices, it was even less than $1 before, the price is still very good...

Reasons for these things are really unknown at this point. Some says that it is just the normal correction and some say that the technical analysis is proving that it is the bearish trend where we have entered when we dropped below the 8K USD. Some of them are saying that this could even follow down to prices of 6000 USD which is the base price of this year or a support line for the Bitcoin and thus rest of the altcoins are also in the critical situation due to that.

However unlike the honest investors in the forum I will also suggest that dont be FUDer in this bad timing and try to be stubborn on your trades. Hold and save the crypto currency falling below unexpected lines.  Smiley

Off course it has got nothing to do with the Facebook at all. The crypto currency is really volatile and there are many FUD's going on that exchangers are manipulating the prices of the bitcoin and other crypto currencies in the market. But that is not true thing and its just FUD as I stated earlier. The real fact is that due to such FUD's market gets into the critical situation and when it comes to the weak handed peeps then they start panicking about the whole situation and thus they start selling off everything they have got on board. Thus the mega drop follows.  Tongue

I can't say that I agree that now the situation is closer to apocalypse. I think that it will change for the better soon and btc will take the main role on the market being the favorite coin for most companies

I'm not really trying to be harsh on you or anything like that, but if you get scared about such movements in the market which by the way are completely normal for a currency like bitcoin then I do not know if the market of cryptocurrencies is the market where you should be, maybe you should feel more comfortable investing in the stocks market, after all it seems that you're watching it taking into account your comment that Facebook stocks grew in value, maybe you will feel more comfortable if you invested in such a market instead of this one.
