Is this the beginning of the death of Bitcoin? Well, the topic is now resurrecting again now that Bitcoin just experienced one of the biggest bloodbaths ever in its trading history. And this the trend right now for the whole cryptocurrency market...we are seeing waves of red all over.

No wonder the FUD community is now having a fiesta...they think that this can be the start of the end of the world...I mean the end of Bitcoin and that it can crashed soon towards the $100 price.

Are they kidding me?

This not what you are afraid of happening. There is no serious issue that will cause the end of Bitcoin. This may not be a normal dipping down of prices because there is a rather serious dip that is happening not just to Bitcoin but to all the alts as well. However, I am sure that this is not a total crash of the market. The market will definitely bounce back very soon.

For me I am in the least worried, infact this is the first threD or place I will see anyone ''resurfacing'' the topic of Death of Bitcoin, most places I have come across people are advising others to buy more bitcoin at this low price not discuss it's death.

Don't they say that everytime Bitcoin value plunges? It has always been able to recover, so I'm not the least bit worried.

Clearly, ICOs have always been vital to Bitcoin's value proposition. That's why the market dumped so hard. Tongue

The Elliott Wave technical analysis crowd always takes a lot of flack, but they were right this time. Bad news or not, the market was ready to take a dump off that massive psychological resistance at $5,000 per coin.

Now that we've dumped to previous support, we'll see if this will V-bottom to new highs, or if we really are headed for a bear market...

Death of bitcoin? Absolutely not. Bitcoin still had years to live. But of course it may down for I guess weeks or months for I believe in a sinusoidal trend in market. Whatever goes up, must go down. For me, it will probably go down this November. And whenever there's a dip, it's the best time to buy! So we must all grab the opportunity if it goes low because years from now it will cost 1 Lamborghini!:)

Bitcoin is dead? Again?? But we have not reached the moon yet. I am getting very bored at $4000, when are we going to $100,000?

We are only at the starting line in my opinion. The finish line will be at the $10 trillion valuation for Bitcoin. Let us enjoy the ride.

LOL, even if BTC price go up to 100$ which  I think is impossible right now (for what? because china banned ICO) I will still be happy because once again I can buy more BTC and I will invest on it real hard and people will soon buy large amounts causing its price to be at the 5000$ peak or even more.
This is not even the end of the world, we have the alternatives of course and do you think that the whales will let this happen? This would be a real chaos if the price goes down to 3 digits. That is when the time where the real blood battle will happen.

bloodbath? where? Bitcoin is still way up there. Altcoin is another story, that is pure blood. But again, it's just a correction. Down 20-25% is nothing. I'll relax up to 50% after that I might be a little nervous.

As the other did say, I don't believe bitcoin would be near the sixth feet on the edge. I certainly trust and believe that it will rise again, and according to what i have read and hear from some famous people it was just acting as a retracing period for the meantime, I don't know if it is true but i strongly believe it will rise back.

Bitcoin had suffered multiple death experience since the day of its conception but still it survived. Bitcoin is immortal as it rose from the dead, we may even taste its bitterness from sorrow but sweetness comes to those who waits. we may also feels the FUDding every time it reach its predictable peak but the hodlers celebrate its glorious days when bitcoin gets down.

For me all of this is just normal....
A sudden decrease in price after ICO ban in China must already be expected...
Of course Chinese hodlers would somehow feel some pressure thereby making them decide to sell their acquired coins.
Thus making the supply of bitcoin in general circulations increase....
My advise instead of being worried why not buy some coins...
this is a nice time to do that...

These threads sorta of amuse me.  "Bloodbath?"  15-20 percent swing?....It has mooned in the past couple months so it's hardly a "bloodbath!"  Remain calm ---> step away from your monitor for awhile ---> and come to your senses.  There's a much larger picture here, so you may need to zoom out a little and view the broader trend.

the "topics" say it, so it must be true, do you know any time before that these "topics" have been wrong? Tongue

18% drop after 400% rise is barely a bubble bath let alone be a "bloodbath"!

bitcoin goes down, altcoins get massively dumped!
this is the story of altcoins from the start. there is nothing new to it.

no the FUDsters are enjoying their shorts and making a lot of money from it while everyone is chasing their own tails then they will start filing their bags with cheap bitcoins again when everyone is asking when will it end and again they will continue to buy it up as everyone is asking will it continue rising or will it drop. and they sell again when everyone is saying i finally bought back after the drop ended and price went back up!

(The biggest bloodbath was the April 2013 crash, where price in three days went from $250 down to less than $100. That's 60%!)

It was even worse in the early days, from $30 to slightly above $2 in 2011, almost 15 times! The volatility is decreasing.

Not even close. Bitcoin lost less than 20% (4950 to 4000) in the last 3 days. It only looks bloodier because the absolute price is higher ... so the almost $1000 look like something never heard of Wink

Even in 2017 there were several crashes with a deeper fall:

- June 12-14: 3000 to 2300 (~24%)
- May 25-27: 2700 to 1850 (~31%)
- March 16-18: 1270 to 950 (~25%)
- January 5-7: 1150 to 850 (~26%)

If price action goes below $2000, then you can be worried. Until then, we're doing fine.

if this happens, I will buy more BTC  Grin Grin, and will sit down and relax. My perspective with BTC is solid, after the BIP and Segwit success.

We will just add them to https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoinobituaries/ like we usually do. The DEATH of Bitcoin was predicted since it was started and guess what, we are still here. The Chinese government alone will not kill Bitcoin. They saw massive amounts of their local currency being invested in unregulated ICO's and they think that this is a form of capital flight, so they banned it.

It has nothing to do with the protection of their citizens, but merely a political move to protect their own currency.  ^grrrrr^
