Well, not the best of starts for United
City to do a treble this season? Seems quite likely right now.
Not even the best start for both clubs. Manchester City's performance has reduces drastically. They are not playing in the manner of Manchester City I once knew. I'm not sure if it's because their key players have been on the bench(not playing in their last 2 matches) in preparation for FA Cup and the champions league finals. Manchester City may win the triple crown this year, but they shouldn't utilize the same strategy they employed while playing Manchester United to defeat Inter in the champions league finals. If not, Inter might defeat them and win the Champions League.
Right now, Manchester City has a 2-1 victory. Six minutes into the second half (51 minutes), Gundogan once again netted the second goal with a left-footed shot.
It's well deserved win for Manchester City and not too bad a final match, intense for majority of the time, but then what a way to end your last season with a club for Ilkay Gundogan, he's been an absolute menace for Man City in these pass few weeks, and a very important piece for this Man City side.
On the game itself, I would say a couple of injuries might limited Man United and Rashford to be in good shape too, but then Garnacho really should started the game, I really don't care how young he his, but he's got the talent to take on City defenders which he did conveniently after being subbed in, aside, I however believe that the penalty against City was a really harsh one to say the least, in a match as sensitive as this the referee shouldn't have made such call but then in the end it is what it is, so it's 2 down and one 1 to go, a win in the CL final should be an icing on the cake of Guardiola's legacy as a Man City coach.
