If Postecoglu can get this trophy on his first season it will not only be massive for the club but will also be a big building bridge for him to actually lay a foundation for the club on. If he manages to win a cup this season and probably get an European competitions qualification then the players will be optimistic for the season to come.
Just like Manchester United coach was able to win a trophy for Manchester United in his first season as the teams new coach, if tottenham coach wins the FA cup for them this season then that's a huge win even if they can't win the Premier League. Lucky win For them against Burnley because the goal came late in the game. Fulham will also value their win against Rotterham United, one goal was not enough for me for them to show that they are the bigger team from the premier league, but a win is a win.

The current team with which the Tottenham Hotspur coach is using to play should not be written off because the only player that is absent from the squad is their star man Son Heung-min, and he would have played in this game if not that he had already gone for National duties to represent his country in the upcoming Asian cup. Then they also have Sarr who has gone for the African cup of Nations. No goals at halftime, so the game is not so easy for Tottenham, Burnley may still be able to win.

I don’t seriously blame Ange Postecoglu for this strong line up this is not a regular FA cup meeting with some lower division clubs but against a premier league opponent like them as such they will treat the game as serious as the league itself. If I am Tottenham manager i will actually hold a strong grip on this competition and look towards winning it. Tottenham have been never won any competitive trophy for ages now and it is turning into a thing of mediocrity and much banter. If Postecoglu can get this trophy on his first season it will not only be massive for the club but will also be a big building bridge for him to actually lay a foundation for the club on. If he manages to win a cup this season and probably get an European competitions qualification then the players will be optimistic for the season to come.

@casperBGD VAR played a spoilsport in the match and I wonder how long will they continue using it because time after time it has just continued to mess up.

yeah, there is a video of Everton players looking at VAR, and laughing
it was as far from red card, as it can be, and Everton will make official appeal on this one

regarding Spurs, it is still goalless on HT, and will be interesting in second half
Brentford at 1:1 against Wolves, Fulham leading 1:0, but it is not finish there, Rotherham can be back, FA cup at its best

Wolves was able to score for 1:1 and holded the resulted until the end and this is a good result for them until the rematch comes. Fulham expected more goals from them but it just didnt happened. They had too many good chances and werent able to score more in this match but got through. Tottenham looks like it will win the match against Burnley

Postecoglu will definitely not play all his main players against Burnley. Tottenham will travel to Manchester United's headquarters after finishing the match against Burnley.
Regarding winning, I am sure Tottenham will win. But considering the possibility that Postecoglu won't field his best squad, I'm a little doubtful.

FA Cup resumed and there was a match that has been played and ended with a draw between Crystal Palace and Everton. Crystals Palace weren't able to score against Everton although the latter team played like 15 minutes with 10 players only.

goalless draw, but wasn't boring at all
Everton was a bit better until we got red carded, but Palace wasn't able to finish off this at home, so we will hit replay later this month

Tottenham has easy fixture against Burnley, and Fulham is facing Rotherham tonight
Brentford vs Wolves is probably most interesting fixture, with Wolves being a bit of favorite IMO, considering late form

@casperBGD VAR played a spoilsport in the match and I wonder how long will they continue using it because time after time it has just continued to mess up. Furthermore Tottenham should definitely win this game because they’re in good form but it’ll be a shocker if they lose this game because this is a realistic trophy that they can target to win.

There was no contact between the two players and even if there was a contract between the two, it was nothing and the player controlled well the ball. Since there was no foul, the red card should not be given at all and the initial decision of the referee was totally correct. The intervention of VAR here was misleading and the angle shown to the referee let him think about how dangerous the tackle rather than if there was a bad hit or not. I would say an oral warning about the tackle itself to the player, at maximum a non justified yellow card.
In my opinion, VAR should be maintained but referees should have the time to analyse the delicate situations without interrupting the game and once they were sure, the game could be paused and they return to the situation to give a card, or a penalty or a free kick...

The other games are being played. Wolverhampton were able to score a goal although playing with 10 players and they got the draw for the moment. Fulham are leading with 1 goal and Tottenham Hotspur are still 0 - 0 against Burnley.

Everton can still beat Crystal Palace in the next match. Calvert-Lewin's red card hurt Everton in yesterday's match. Everton's game was not boring and I agree with you. At home, scheduled for January 18, Everton can finish off Crystal Palace.

This is totally different competition, but it is good that you posted this and reminded me that FA Cup qualification is starting this Friday  Grin
Lot of lower league clubs are included in this stage and there is a lot of matches very hard to predict outcome.
First bigger clubs from EFL League One and League Two are joining EFL Cup competition in November.

This is new year, alot of team is gathering effort to bounce back to winning shape, it's understandable how clubs fight and become successful at the end. Prediction is 50/50 when it comes to title races, alot of things changed, we will watch the elite clubs becoming frighten to face the average clubs. I almost forgot about the FA Cu fixtures, we know how important the tournament is for some clubs, they would start buildups and this is a title that would reconsider most EPL clubs to pick form and start doing the impossible, when I say impossible I actually mean clubs will start falling to good forms and having competitive fights.

The game will be held eventually in 15 January to decide the winner.
Otherwise, there is some good matches between clubs from the English Premier League like Brentford - Wolverhampton in less than 24 hours and there is the most exciting one, Arsenal against Liverpool in Emirates Stadium in few days

By the way they have never won the FA Cup at least twice in a row in their history. Maybe this would be the season to do it for the first time. Teams from the Premier League care about the FA Cup a lot as well. Manchester City should be ready for a good challenge.
FA Cup is oldest UK competition and it is very important but it is not easy to compete in Premier Legaue, Champions League and FA Cup, be on top positions and keep all players healthy and fit.
I am giving more chances in FA Cup to teams like Arsenal, Tottenham or maybe Liverpool.
ManCity won finals last season in FA Cup, now it is time for some change.

Unlike the expectations by so many people this isn't a tournament in which Manchester City are very dominant. But they won the cup in the previous season and completed the treble as well. I believe that Guardiola still keeps the same mentality for this season as well. He wouldn't like to back down from a target like this after achieving it new.

This week are international matches but there are nine matches in FA Cup that needs to be played before next round.
Low league clubs play tomorrow but there are some familiar names like Derby County, Barnsley, Peterborough, Charlton and others.
Second round proper is scheduled for December, and Championship with Premier league clubs start to join competition in January Third round proper.
Consider tomorrow matches as warmup for big games that are starting soon.

FA Cup matches should be available tomorrow on Sportsbet website:

First qualifying round to be started in two days with many unknown teams, at least for me. I discovered in the list an interesting name "United of Manchester" playing in a very low ranked league at the opposite of its two very famous neighbours.
We aren't at the same stage of both competition between EFL and FA Cup since EFL have famous teams playing right now. This will follow later eventually.

@snipe definitely an interesting name and to be honest I had never heard of them before but I don’t expect any of these unknown team’s to win this competition. Furthermore my favourite team to win this cup is Manchester City and currently I don’t see any other team that can stun them and go on to win this cup and while it’s little early to make the prediction yet I’m confident that I have picked the correct team.

knew that it is different competition, but League Cup does not have a topic,  or I couldn't find it, so used FA cup, it is at least cup, better than use EPL topic

update on Everton, much better second half, and they scored two goals, passing into next round to face Aston Villa there
not sure if goals against Doncaster can count as anything, but first official goals from Blues this season, yet to score in EPL after three rounds

tried to find EFL League cup topic, but fell short for that, so will use this one
Everton is playing worst club in whole four English leagues (Doncaster, League two bottom), and currently losing on half-time 1:0

it is not that we are losing what bothers me, it is that Doncaster is actually playing better, and Everton has almost whole first team on pitch, hopefully situation will change in second half
Lol. Worst club indeed their performance is really bad no doubt from the first half and I looking at the odds giving to them by these bookmakers one would probably think this game would be an easy win for them but the live actions says otherwise and I also played them a win in my betslip. But hopefully like you said they would turn up and maybe somehow take control of the game and maybe even give me a surprise victory.
