In 2021 the metaverse isn’t even started, I mean there are many games that uses NFT and calling themselves metaverse games, but honestly metaverse isn’t yet fully implemented and hasn’t yet become a real thing.
I could only imagine the altcoins could get carried away by metaverse as early as the end of 2022 and that’s maybe being overly optimistic about the whole metaverse thing I’m sure the metaverse will truly become a big thing once the big
companies like the AAA games company started to make their own version of metaverse and get in to the metaverse.
Other than that, many NFT games that call themselves metaverse right now are some new games that’s starting from zero and they neither have any fame or name for themselves yet thats why it’s rather difficult to become famous with the metaverse thing unlike if a company that created AAA games finally uses metaverse concept.

Contrary to speculations from various cryptocurrency analysts who have predicted that the altcoin market was going to witness the highest price boom in 2021 it seems the hype was overrated and the market went in the other direction opposite the speculations and many speculators are left with no choice than to flow with the current market conditions.
So that seals in the fact that these self proclaimed "analysts" are nothing but reading the charts only and not doing anything useful but they get a good following because they speak what people want to listen - a common crowd control method.

Predictions are only 50% correct, that is why they are predictions, not facts.

The altcoin market witnessed some new development and projects such as the web 3 NFTs and the discovery of the metaverse which are now the rave of the moment, this and many more are the happenings that characterize the altcoin market with its wave being transferred to this year 2022. I guess the altcoin faith is left hanging at the moment and a lot of analysis has gone ahead which all point to a more groundbreaking development ahead.
Groundbreaking development occurs once in a century and altcoins or NFTs are neither of them. Major development occurs first in mainstream before someone attempt to perform that in crypto niche.

Those who have had faith in altcoins before, will continue to have that no matter what happens. But it is also important to be decisive here - if your coins are doing bad, note that and attempt to sell them at the next bullish cycle. Dont hold on to shitcoins that have no future - that will mean majority of them.

the speculated growth of altcoin prices are just not met last year. high hopes still for many of us who kept holding the coin we believe to have good value. but it's the only the top coins are gaining. there are some that really went high but in the last 3 months, it depreciates that a holder will likely lose faith.

if there is a bull run still this year, it may likely still be the same as the last, and it's BTC which will still appreciate thoroughly.
Of course, the potential for altcoins remains enormous. Without any doubt, they will surprise us for a long time with their diversity and their useful functions. We see that little by little their total capitalization is growing and therefore the percentage of Bitcoin dominance is steadily falling. Even at its highest prices in 2021, bitcoin dominance was at just over 40 percent. I think this process will continue in the future.

I'm not sure those who predicted a boom for alts in 2021 took cognizance of Bitcoin's post halving data of 2017/18. If they did, they would've recognized that alts went into bull rally in 2018 and that was shortly after Bitcoin ended its in December 2017. By that, it simply means it took alts two years from Bitcoin halving to get its run. Therefore, the expectations (from me, anyway) is that alts will begin its rally in 2022 and that's two years from the current Bitcoin halving of 2020. I know things could change but that's my prediction. I expect alts to commence its rally first quarters of 2022.

Most of Altcoins are follow BTC & ETH, Btc & Eth they both made a all time high in 2021 but many of Altcoins have not made a high from the long time so that we can assume Altcoins will perfom very well in 2022.

Never believe on prediction of cryptocurrency from any body, that's my perception towards cryptocurrency, and again it's not hype because this year just started and i believe that bitcoin increment will skyrocket again but the time is not yet, but believing that this year by match of 2022 they will be smile on the faces of investor, no body should panic or be in a hurry to sell their bitcoin, market of cryptocurrency is spherical like earth and it doesn't have base rather stagnant in price regulations or movement, it's rotational.

Well, the crypto market is on a new phase with new projects coming on board daily it makes it hard for speculative prediction and accurate forecast of what the future hold for altcoin in the year 2022 but we shall keep our figures cross to see what the outcome will be and how the altcoin will involve through the year.

Crypto market in general is full of speculation, no one can say for sure, but i wouldn't quite call it a hype, but a future prediction that unfortunately the timeframe wasn't properly calculated. Success for altcoins is surer as each year passes by and more persons getting aware of them. If it's not bitcoin, its an altcoin, and most persons who missed out on bitcoin are searching for opportunities with other coins (altcoins). 2022 will definitely be better for altcoins than last year.

It's over, what remains now is bull trap for altcoins I'd advice everyone to trend carefully before things go south, we've seen tremendous growth in altcoins since December 2020 I don't know what people expect more than this now there must be huge correction

In your view-point, you put all the altcoins in one basket and this is an incorrect generalization in my opinion.
We should admit that some altcoins have real potential for an expanding growth and may not be infect by the actual bear market. For example, Ethereum is a major altcoin and despite the network issues it is actually facing, we can't deny the fact that it's still considered as great investment opportunity.

Personally, i bet on Ethereum and some other major altcoins. Also litecoin imo is a still a good network which gathered trust during the last 10 years; according to latest released updates, litecoin is in such a stability compared to other major alts.

it seems the hype was overrated
Why do you think so?

I think many altcoins experienced big growths in 2021, just like they were expected to. Price-wise most alts went 5-10X against BTC and much more than that against USD. Technology-wise lots of platforms (like solana, DOT, ...) or NFT projects or metaverse projects had big interest and progress as I'm sure you remember.

I don't think 2021 was a bad or overrated year. Just that the 2nd half wasn't as good (price-wise) for most projects.

I have still huge faith in the Altcoins. Yes, Altcoins could not boom as expected in the previous year but expectations are still there but I must say meme coins took away most of the investments in the previous year now investors are attracting towards the NFTs and Metaverse let's see how altcoins will perform this year but I noticed there is a huge craze for the metaverse.
