Totally about publicity/buzz, but hah, it was only a matter of time. Literally the BlockChain touches everything.
Agreed, nothing more than a publicity stunt. Maybe some blockchain neophyte could appreciate such thing, but people who know thing or two about the tech. are going to get disgusted pretty soon with all those chain-this and chain-that products.
Imagine how they could use the blockchain to actually benefit consumers and even themself.
For example buyback points. One bottle, 1coin as a loyalty reward. Gather enough of blockchain based points and get something in return, heck even a guided tour through the brewery would be more interesting. I can't understand why they are not using it as loyalty points, its perfect for this type of solutions. Gives them extra control, quite precise info on the demography, target profile etc, and its very cost effective. Think about what will happen when such token gets listed somewhere by accident...

Well, as without beer, a good opportunity to relax, and not worry about the fall of the market. A very good marketing ploy, sales can increase at times due to this creative name. Good idea and good luck to the creators of this wonder drink. I know those who love to collect even jars.

The above mentioned Bock beer is distributed by a major brewing distributor and not a just a small craft beer brewery.

They must have made a typo when they chose that name, because "Block Beer" sounds so much better and it is also more applicable to the Blockchain connection.  Roll Eyes

I hope they do international shipping, because I need to get me some cans as a collectors item.   Grin

A beer company has marketed itself as the first blockchain beer on the market starting February 1st.
This beer has a scan QR code on the front of the can so you can follow how it was produced.
Just like other foods I have seen advertising this availability on their packaging.

There has possibly been other craft beers produced calling themselves a blockchain beer from doing a quick search there is one called downsteam. Grin

It's a great idea and innovation. Since it's the first blockchain beer, it can gain curiousity and interest from the consumer. The idea of letting people see how it was produced and made can give a big impact in the market.

Well it's a good news to some people in crypto that always drink, and I think it's not surprising because in the crupto we see a lot of development and I think it's good to see that many people now familiar in crypto.

The Idea of using a blockchain for the bear industry is amazing. It can benefits all users and also the manufacturers to distribute easily and buy it anytime as long we have the token that they accept. Many people will get excite about this news. I hope theres a lot of video that will encourage the investor to invest on this.

Their intro video is boring, no wonder they have only like 200 views. I hope their beer is better  Grin It's a nice approach, actually, to use crypto-friendly attitude in promotion of goods. It surely contributes to mass adoption and recognition of cryptocurrencies as money, and, hopefully, makes the crypto community potential consumers of the product. So, it's a win-win situation, and paying because the QR code is right on the bottle seems really cool. Oh, and even though nobody watched the video, the company actually seems like a strong and relatively popular one, so people might just really buy that beer.

The beer company is basically using the blockchain to track the production and distribution of the beer. It's a clever use of technology to keep a track on the beers journey, from manufacture to bottle, which otherwise would have been done using manual records.

The marketing idea is very cool. I want to believe that the beer is just as cool!If this beer will be in great demand, respectively, and in parallel, the technology of blockchain will gain popularity.I thank those who created this beer! Thanks to you, the crypto community will only grow.

That's new. In any case, blockchain implementation is always good. I think real beer connoisseurs will appreciate this news.
I am a big fan of beer, and what does it give me??? I can cash out my crypto and buy beer in the store at the same price, beer lovers will be satisfied with the quality of the product and not the ability to pay for it, blockchain technology is very cool, but I can not pay for bread one crypto, but for beer to another, or I do not understand something???

If that's for marketing purposes, still very silly action, I highly doubt it will boost their sales. When man is looking for beer and reads blockchain technologies and so on, he will say wtf is this and just ignore. At least I think so...
On another hand integration of blockchain technologies doesn't meen product that comes to you is 100% result of what information you read. It doesn't guarantee your beer was made from high quality producyd and every facility things were protected during production.

Is it not just some sort of publicity and/or something just to be different?

Its certainly advertising "blockchain technology" and hopefully it will
attract more interest in bitcoin.

Really good idea. That is definitely brilliant people, combining all those elements. It's not only about beer that is the future of operations.

People have to be careful with the QR Codes since it's pretty easy to infect a device using one, so after checking if the business is truly legit sure it's a really comfortable and cool way of doing things. QR Codes can be used for a lot of things.

I'm gonna be honest and say: this is dumb. I mean, do people really care about how a beer was made? Go to a bar and ask someone: "Hey, do you want to know how that beer that you're drinking was made?" They'd probably tell you to fuck off and let them enjoy their beer and get drunk in peace. Although, I guess there's a minority that actually cares about how a beer was made, otherwise, this company wouldn't have done this.

But it's all good PR, I mean, really shows what the blockchain technology can do nowadays.

In times like this the community need a rugged publicity to ensure they reach out to the general populist through different means of disseminating information across board just to make it know to the masses. Blockchain has come to stay and people | government will embrace it. Keep the blockchain growing!!!!.

What happens is what I have repeatedly talked with my friends about. Bitcoin will have a great future only when it is embedded in the real economy. When it will be possible to go to any cafe and pay with Bitcoins, it will be possible to say with confidence that this has begun. I hope that these guys will brew good beer and they will earn respect from customers and thanks to them Bitcoin will become more popular and many companies will follow their example.

This is so ridiculous, you can't really track anything physical on blockchain, especially when it comes to highly fungible things like beer or any other foods. Like, the company can just fill the cans with any other beer, and you wouldn't be able to spot it, because you can't take a hash of a beer. Plus there are always a lot of middlemen in the chain, and any of them can theoretically tamper with materials in a similar way.

And people are not stupid, they've been successfully tracking supplies, verifying quality and spotting frauds for hundreds or even thousands of years. In this case blockchain is hardly an innovation, it's just another way to store a database, and inspectors and other responsible persons would still play the key role in supply chains.
Also, cryptography wasn't invented yesterday, people have been using cryptographic commitments and hashes for decades.
