Why are you here then of you hate it so much? It is not perfect and not with pretty grafics but it is a place for many coins to start their new journey. Good people can be found too, you know. I hope you see them even if you are buried under a ton of your cynicism.
Well, he just stated a fact - these 2.5 million registered users aren't real number of forum users. Bots, banned accounts, alts, brand new users with 0 posts... I don't know where you see hate in his post. It would be interesting to know how many real users Bitcointalk have. And offcourse, despite some negative aspects, bitcointalk is the best crypto community on internet.
He mocked it right in OP's face if you did not see it. What an accomplishment! Why does this intend, if not contempt? Where you see the statement? There are bots, spammers but also many genuine users. I see negativity and I tell it how it is. There was no need for this comment. Such posts have the intention of mockery, nothing constructive.

Farewell o_e_l_e_o
Personally, I do not see reasons why the 2.500.000 user is a good reason to feel happy about the current situation of the forum.
Furthermore, amongst 2.500.000 forum users, so many cases been permanent banned or nuked.
Congrats[fairly/ unfairly] like this don't help the forum in general, because the sort of compliment might play as one of main motivational forces for spammers/ bot-creating tools/ etc. to make more massively automatic account creation.

Even though we have huge number of registration in this forum we don't have much quality users who is helping the community to get grower.Lot of accounts were still newbie and brand new, many accounts were created for the purpose for an appeal and asking for reasons to ban which have no contribution at all,so why we don't have something like removes the user profile which is inactive or not posting anything for some amount of time?

The forum now has more than 2,500,000 accounts*, which is not a landmark but an illness that the forum has been trying to cure for years now. Although the situation is not as bad as before, but it is still not totally under control if I must say.

Theymos has refused to take any dratic actions against the large number of bots and accounts farmed for the purpose of spamming a thread for reward, and little Carr for the rules as they can always create another and another.

Any changes made would likely frustrate legitimate new members who would have made great additions to the forum. And the spammers would just find ways around the system.

I was just going to post the above info. Don't forget that the Gemini members have multiple personalities, and they are all active of course.

* I have replaced the word "users" with the word "accounts" since the number of accounts does not represent the total number of users the forum has. About more than 70-80% accounts out of them are guaranteed alts of the original users the forum has, and are not to be counted as unique user accounts.

Thanks to the implemented of Merit on users ,spamming has decreased a lot and now newbies will have no choice but to sit tight and get more serious ,leaving out only spammers and bots.

If we remove alts, nuked and inactive accounts, I think we will have less than 1M real active accounts.
Now let's remove bounty hunters and only keep valuable members!! I am sure we will get a 4 or 5 digit number.

But still a large number of users composed with brand new and newbie accounts. Some of it are abandone alreadt and only few really exist in this forum that are only active in this forum. Probably only 5% of its number are real users because other are having multiple accounts. Check mazdafunzan's post regarding with percentage of user's per rank.

imagine me
Hope that it'll be as lucky as the 2m'th user:

It's me...

Sorry if it sounds VERY ironic that an alt has been the 2000000th account on this platform, but there are quite a few things that I have to tell you all, possibly a new post will be better. I started as a small BTC speculative investor and cared little about the tech, I then became a shitposting Bounty Hunter. But over the months I've come to realize that it's much more than being either of them. I am trying to learn about the technology, not only BTC, but also the alts. I feel that the socio-economic impact/aspect of this revolution will be far more reaching than just the tech and it is yet to come, although I still am a noob and monetize my original account (can't help it, the pay is lucrative); I try to improve my posts and contribute to the community in  the small ways that I can.

1. I'll never partake in any form of campaigns from this account or monetize it.

2. I'll never ShitPost using this account to maintain the decorum of the forum.

I'm not sure if it's appropriate to congratulate ourselves with terminal cancer. Let's hope the next 2.5 million takes 25 years to achieve.

<…> Also does it include nuked accounts where all posts are deleted and the newbie is returned to 'brand new'?<…>
Yes, nukes are returned to Brand New status and therefore accounted as if they had never posted before.

I make the toll of Brand New accounts a bit larger now: 1.783.774 (as of a month ago), with 680.225 having been created in 2018 alone (see Analysis - Bitcointalk Accounts – Date of Register vs Last Active per Rank).
@suchmoon makes it 3.442 presumably nuked accounts over a two month period (see [MERIT][NSFN] We're destroying more merits than we're sending. Like, way more), so nuking has a small toll on the amount of existing Brand New accounts.

You should never think that the number of accounts here in the forum as some kind of bullish indicator in the market. You don't even know if half of the accounts here are active nor are here because they are interested in the market. Most of the accounts created here are mostly being used for internal use here in the forum that is why we are seeing a lot of spammers, bumping services, accounts farmers/sellers, and of course scammers.

Which concluded that out of the 2.3 million accounts at the time, 1.6 million had never posted. That's quite insane.

When you consider accounts with evil IP, whose users refused to pay the fee to lift the posting limitation. Then the numbers might begin to add up.
Also does it include nuked accounts where all posts are deleted and the newbie is returned to 'brand new'?

As regards the OP, quality not quantity should be celebrated. Most bot and spam accounts just increase the workload on the moderators.

Yup.

I'm not exactly sure where the thread went that i scanned through a couple of months ago, but i think it was this one that is worth a read;

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/statistics-of-2312-million-bitcointalk-users-5025283

Well, it looks like a sister account of Bet365accountsuk, created just a few minutes later, with the clear intention of being a role model here and selling some Bet365 accounts with a handy "You get Set of documents used(Selfy with ID, Front and back of ID, Bankstatement, Utility bill)". Just the type of guys we want to rejoice and celebrate hopping aboard the forum … with a big red nuke if possible...
