Gambling doesn't give anyone the assurance of winning, but gamblers assure themselves of winning meanwhile  there is no guarantee of winning or losing a game. What you @OP is trying to describe happens frequently in gambling, especially in cases where, for instance, you place a bet between two clubs and perhaps you think that team A is stronger and will be able to beat team B. From the start of the match, it could be going as predicted, but in the last few minutes to end the match, you may just see the weak team winning the match and your bet gets burst.

You might feel bad, especially if it's a club you support that loose the game, but you might feel very bad if you actually assure yourself that you will win that game. It's not wise to assure yourself of winning a game because gambling is not something that winning is guaranteed at every bit.

Yes I agree it can be frustrating but a game is never won before it has ended. Something very unlikely to happen can occur and giving the victory to the weaker team, even if it seemed to be impossible, it often happens at basketball when you don't know the rules and how it works precisely. It's very surprising and many newbie bettors lose money on live betting because of that.

This is why I believe it isn't over until it ended. I've seen cases where the last one minute of the extra time added spoil a game. At the same time, that same minute may turn your lose to win. That's true and I think majority of us here have at one time experience that. But the question is, why we didn't stop when we are in the positive side and then continue to play? So I guess that answer for that is greediness. I mean we might feel that we are lucky and that it will continue to go and will make us more money.

Unfortunately for us, it's not the case, because lets say we won and we keep on going, the house edge is going to tip on their favor and then our luck chances. To the point that we lost everything including our capital and we become frustrated and mentally affected by the lost.

Being overconfident should have a basis, I am experiencing it, but without a basis of having confidence then it was nothing but just a pure wish. Gambling is about luck, yes I can agree with that, but sometimes probability and statistics says what could be on the next turn or next face of the die. Playing blackjack  is a game of instinct and luck, I would be over confident in that game if I already have high pairs on that game, the rest is just a pure luck results.

Gambling does not secure higher probability of winning, but its mostly losing a lot especially if you have gone out believing that you'll definitely end up with profits. It offers high amount of uncertainties more than its certainty so you cannot totally say that you are supposed to win because you've seen it coming. Most of the time, what you see at the start of the game do not last and with just a blink of an eye, the game scenario changes more than you know it. So never expect to win while most of the gamblers are actually in the verge of losing.

What I wish anyone is not to experience this kind of feeling because believe me it's a very annoying feeling. But I can relate to your plight and it is very painful. I am usually angry when a team that I bet on lose a game due to a costly mistake by players or coaches. I have lost a game recently because of the blunder of a goalkeeper and it was very painful. But we should also have the mentality that there is no sure bet in gambling. I have seen people who say games are sure bet becoming frustrated with the outcome. Always come into a casino with an open mind that will be able to handle either a win or lose.

losses like this are very common and often happen when you bet on a large sports bet and you should have chosen the right team but a surprise comes and destroys your bet into a loss. maybe what you mean is the single bet in sports betting which often happens and there is no need to regret or be angry because this really often happens, in fact every bettor experiences the same thing, only betting large amounts gives a feeling of regret when the team chosen should have been able to winning but it is very sad when the game changes or the opposing team makes a comeback.

maybe if this happened on a single bet it wouldn't be so painful but imagine if this happened using a parlay bet with several teams that have been selected with big odds and betting a large amount but when there is still 1 match remaining the bookmaker gives you the option to cash out or continue your bet while a big win is guaranteed and the bettor can just press the cashout button and get a big win, but when he chooses to continue the match, everything becomes very bad, the last match is lost and he loses all the big wins that he almost got.

well, actually for me this is just regret or depression caused by my own greed to get a big win.

It really sucks actually on having that kind of situation on which it does really give out that worst feeling on which you are almost there but ended up still on a loss on which it could really possibly make yourself that seeing punching up the wall due to such frustration. hehe. I have already experienced up such game or bet on the time that you do see that it is already that a sure win.
I do remember when it was on an NBA game on which the score is about having that 20+ points gap and having that 10 minutes time left on which i do already make out some
conclusion that it is already over. There's no way that it would be able to caught up which those are the words that i do have in mind and ended up on a loss due to some comeback. lol

I've actually had this particular experience before and trust me, it's one of the most annoying thing in gambling, or sports betting rather, I've had a multi-bet of 8 solid games, a game my mentor researched so well and we were very confident, like over confident that we will win it, I staked almost every thing I had on that game, and same goes my mentor.

All the games played in our favor except the last one, at a particular point, I was going to actually cash out since I already made a good profit from that bet, but on a second thought, I decided to leave it since it was just one game remaining, as I thought that if the other seven played on our favor, why won't the last one as well do the same.

And all were going well, Infact, it was just about 3 or 4 minutes remaining for the game to come to an end and we will win our multi bet, the other team scored, and that was it, the end, that was how we lost the bet.
I actually cried to be honest, i just thought about everything and how much I could have won, I didnt know when I burst into tears 😭, this was a long time ago though, I've long forgetton about this.

that is true, a sure win is when the game is over and you got your winnings on hand. otherwise, the chance of losing your bet is always there. this is why don't ever celebrate early because you can still be on the losing end even if the odds are in favour with your bet. maybe it is only on your mind that you feel you are very assured with your bet winning.

do remember, there are so many factors in play in every game, in which you have no idea of. just think of unknown injuries of the athletes involved, or the capability of the new coach, or influence of weather. so there are so much to consider before you can totally say, you are about to win big time!

Sometimes this situation can cause insanity. especially when you are about to win almost $30000. I remember. some years back, my friend played a game of which if it wins he would be able to win about $30000 the game was almost over with the assurance of becoming millionaire, not until dying minutes the game cut. This guy started behaving strange he couldn't eat no drink or even bath. He no longer tale care of him self as usual because of the trauma. He has already concluded that he is rich not until he knew the difference between fantasy and reality.
