Plastic cards are the same money and they have already partially replaced paper money. Only paper will not go away, because they complement each other in the event of a system failure.
I think the technology will also be much more sophisticated than the plastic cards. will probably use the help of cell phones to help process payments. since all transactions will be online #imo
Why we will shift to online payment is because we want a faster and safer transaction, card can be stolen and your money is gone. The future is looking good for digital currency and we are lucky we have bitcoin, a system that is revolutionary which has the advantage of being decentralized.
Paper money will continue to exist to serve only a smaller portion of population, and in the near future we will have a lot of options to transact (offline and online).
Online payments are not that safe either, if you want to get my cash then you need to take it directly from me, but if you want to obtain the money I have in a bank account the only thing you need is to hack my computer and by the time I realize what happen you already got my money.

Paper money will stay forever.
Why? Because its easier to make than coins.

I'm so sorry but you are definitely wrong, paper money will disappear in the near future because I read a book telling that time will come paper money will no longer be useful. And I believe that book is telling the truth..😃

With all due respect to your statement you might be right from your point of view and your book's but paper money will stay but it depends on the economy of the particular country which decides on currency and as of now most of the countries are moving towards cashless economy so i am sure the usage of paper currency will be dropped by a significant level and the gap will be filled by digital currency like bitcoin but still paper currency will exist for sure.
but to me i think it depend on the interest of the people if people are interested in paper money then paper money will continue for a long time  but if they will stop using fiat then the fiat will become useless and then the currency where the people are start taking interest then the currency will become more and more popular.

Plastic cards are the major currency of the digital world, but the main disadvantage with digital currency is there are many small scale industries who still depend on paper currency, today they are surviving with that money they are earning daily. But the governments should think about these small scale industries also.

I don't know whether bitcoin will replace paper money or not, but

I know that in the future paper money will be disappear and replace by others, may be card or else
yes we all never know about future, but we can predict it with collect some factor on nowdays to predict future. and i guess in the future bitcoin will not replace bitcoin, its different acceptable between paper money and bitcoin, and i'm also guess that paper money will not dissapear.

But its really difficult to predict that paper money will simply disappear in future as I don't see any competition from bitcoin to paper money as the users of paper money are huge in compare to bitcoins.
The future of paper money will be gone soon after bitcoin will become the new world currency in the whole country Grin
And paper money will be like a piece of paper that can be use on paper toilet. Grin

Andrew Haldane said one solution would be for the Bank of England to issue a state-backed digital currency based on bitcoin. Supporting this initiative would be a negative interest rate levied on paper currency relative to the digital currency, with these measures do you think there is more possibilities that sometime:

Paper money will be banned entirely?
How long do you think that happens?
would it work?
What security and privacy risks would it raise?
And how would public and privately issued monies interact?

Money is only an agreement from the lender that is liable to pay the borrower the certain amount of goods or services equivalent in the foreseeable future. As you can see there’s no money in year ago, the only way to transact is to changes service good. Through the evolution of time, the concept of paper money or agreement to pay the borrower in future came forward. So going in this way, the future of paper money isn’t very illustrious, cause it is very susceptible to damage by natural and manmade.  I think that the future money become digital where the concept of bearing liabilities would be the main theme without any real exchange of material stuffs of any kind.

perhaps after the paper money will come in a plastic card This card is very powerful because you can pay or buy goods only with this card. such as a credit card or debit card.

Yes, everyone want to make fast and secure transaction, but that does not mean paper money will be abandoned like that, paper money ia old fashioned but they never can to move paper money from this world. Because government can never control bitcoin so they wont take this actuon although it has a better future
True, for there are still countries, certainly the paper money will continues to exist and never disappear, we all know that the use of paper money will continue to decline but will not be lost.

Countries seems to be in a war against paper money all over the world the problem is that paper money is the easiest way to reach some places where technology has not fully developed yet so the disappearance of paper money cannot be absolute.

Paper money has its own uses which are hard to replace by digital currency or cryptocurrency. But the future of paper money is oblivion by plastic money. Nope, I'm not talking here about card - I'm talking about plastic banknotes (already used in countries such as Romania, Australia, etc.). Money notes cannot be totally replaced. There are still many countries where not everybody has access to internet. Therefore digital currency has long to go.

The future of paper money depends on people. If all users go to bank cards or bitcoins, then paper will cease to exist. I prefer virtual money because they can not burn, stealing them is much more difficult and convenient to use.
yes that is a fact that paper money is depending on the people interest but in fact government is also supporting fiat. i think if the governments will stop supporting fiat then bitcoin will become more and more popular.

Well that IF is a bit unlikely to happen anytime soon though. Even though a lot more people are already aware of btc and cryptocurrency's use, even more are still not aware or not confident on using a non-fiat currency. People have been so used to transacting with fiat for the longest time and it won't be easy for another currency to take over from what is currently the main system being used.
That is the very point, popularity does not comes with adoption, the confidence of users are still very important, if without the blessing of the government, bitcoin will not be adopted by the people. The world is full of innovation in the technology and that makes the world move faster, however not everyone has the interest or capacity to follow, major portion of the population will also prefer to use paper money.

Paper money is the basic for all sorts of economic situation in a country based on a value based system which is followed by every country. The same got advanced to card system and wire transfer, now an innovation in the form of technology backing. So base will serve to hold the things developed from it. So if paper money will continue till money has value.
