The paper has no future. we are using smart devices in the digital world
and We can use digital currency for payment online. If we use paper money, we can not do it .
so The digital money just has future.

Even we are living in the world that is now being conquered by technology still there is a future for paper money. All types of currency are just innovating and that's the future of paper money it will be digitized and it's all happening now. Crypto currencies are perfect example for it and as well as paypal's service.
I think the best currency to be the future of money is which give us so many advantage while we use it.
Probably bitcoin and gold is really apropriate for the future.
Both trend value is never decrease.
Mind you, gold is not money but a commodity. Bitcoin will be qualified but not for the human race, it's still limited despite of it being so popular.

You are in for a big, big surprise

None other than Alan Greenspan himself, the former chairman of the Fed, said it in the public that gold is currency and no fiat currency such as the US dollar will ever match it. Gold may in fact not be a currency for the masses (though gold bugs will obviously disagree), but it is certainly the money of last resort to governments. Monies come and go but gold remains, and if things massively go haywire on a world scale, governments will start using gold for trading between themselves. And it would well match Bitcoin as a means of transacting in a trustless environment, when governments no longer trust each other

And still less paper money they happen to print

Yeah I think you have a good point there. Even though bitcoin's features would be a lot more beneficial for everyday use, it still has a lot of limitations in the real world. Though I also believe that most transactions will be done online or digitally in the future, there will still be a lot of places that will still rely on tangible exchanges. So there still would be use for paper money definitely.

The future of the paper money will be get rid of waste bin and then nobody knows anything about it.
Cryptocurrency will replace it and become a central digital currency for payment, purshase and storage.

Your confidence  is not back with reliable information, how would it replace paper money when currently only a little percentage of the worlds population are the users of bitcoin while we all use paper money. To reach that level of success is almost impossible, bitcoin might be the future of crypto currency but definitely not the future of money.
Is there any speculation that is backed by a strong and reliable data? No. Anyone can legit say anything here and that's their opinion. Nothing is a fact in here unless it has happened already. His comment is no different than the comments here saying that paper money will vanish and will be replaced by a crypto-currency.

We don't have any "reliable" information to contradict his opinion as well. Everything's just speculation. The only thing we can say right now is that paper money will not be replaced by a crypto-currency any time soon.

Really? Well you might be Nostradamus?  Grin
That is hard to predict and yet you did it. Are you rich or just thinking of yourself? There are people down the street who are relying with just cash and there are like 90% of people in the world who dont even know what bitcoin is. How can that be changed just like that?
It's clear he does not understand how important paper money is. We cannot even live without paper money, and by the way, not all of us are living in an online world, we have brothers and sisters who live in a place where internet is not even recognize.

I think the use of paper money will be replace, once people read books and newspapers on paper, but now it's been rare people who want to read newspapers and books. The same thing will happen with paper money, although this time the money is still in the dominance of paper, but the direction to replace paper money is increasingly evident. bitcoin is the candidate that could replace paper money.

Andrew Haldane said one solution would be for the Bank of England to issue a state-backed digital currency based on bitcoin. Supporting this initiative would be a negative interest rate levied on paper currency relative to the digital currency, with these measures do you think there is more possibilities that sometime:

Paper money will be banned entirely?
How long do you think that happens?
would it work?
What security and privacy risks would it raise?
And how would public and privately issued monies interact?

I think the paper money is gonna disappear for good because the digital currency's are the future, you also can see online payments are getting more standard and also in real life its easier.
The world set off a frenzy of waste paper money, as early as in May 4, 2016 when the European Central Bank announced that it would permanently stop printed and issued 500 euro notes at the end of 2018.

Then the government of India in November 8, 2016 announced the abolition of the 500 and 1000 rupees in the value of the notes, Venezuela also followed in the beginning of December 14th to prohibit the circulation of $100 denomination of Bolivar's notes.

The Australian government is also considering the abolition of 100 Australian dollars.

governments simply aren't interested in incorporating bitcoin. they can't deal with the fact that it is something they can't control. paper money will stay at least for another 10-20 years.
Now, the government has not ignored the bitcoin propagation speed, but they cannot control bitcoin, so began the development of digital money, maybe money will be replaced in the future, not bitcoin, will also be other digital currency.

It is a probability but it has a high percentage that it will occur if bitcoin will not be accepted by masses before the launch of fiat currency. The movement of fiat currency turning digital using blockchain technology is a big threat to bitcoin economy, this may change the world of virtual currency. This movement is a counter to decentralization to hold the masses and never leave a centralized currency both online and offline.
The government can make their own at ease as they can simply copy the system of bitcoin but one thing they cannot copy is the decentralization. In the future, we may be using digital currency in the future but not everyone can adopt. Bitcoin enthusiast will still remain be loyal with bitcoin as long as they can continue to benefit using it.
bitcoin could simply use the decentralization system but everything would be fucked up and as you know that bank which is centralized is the core of economic nowadays and can't be separated from the government economic itself so it's seem impossible for the government to start a whole new system and implement the decentralization

that is a fact that in most areas still people do not hear the name of bitcoin, while in some area still there are not present the facilities of internet therefore these people do not know about bitcoin, they still require a good time to know and then start using bitcoin.
In fact most people in the world still don’t know about bitcoin, and that is why injecting it into the society is a very hard thing, people are not still not used to electronic payments they prefer using paper money and they are used to doing so and trying to change that will be rather difficult.

People like to keep money in their wallets. If you are from the older generation you should know the difference between handing someone a bill and a plastic card. Money is still treated differently. You can wave your card in public all you want and noone will notice, but start waving some Franklins and all eyes are on you. I'm sure I'll be long dead before the world stops using paper money.

It is quite sure that in the nearby future will live in a cashless world. Governments they impose laws initially τo restrict and then to completely ban the circulation of paper money. From my point of view next years people will do their transactions mainly with cards and mobile or web banking. Small value notes will be in circulation so as older people learn the new payment system. I suppose that next or after next generation people will use only digital coins in every day transactions.

Obviously, the governments will have to do that in coming time when the world will be almost totally digitalized and then they will have no choice but to turn their faces towards digital payment systems and when that happens paper money system will get vanished for once and for all.
although bitcoin will become one of the most popular currency of the world and al most all the people will be using it but still the importance to paper money cannot be ignore. still people will also use fiat as secondary option.

The future of paper money seems brighter tan ever. I see no threat to the future of paper money. Obviously most of the government is trying to introduce cashless transaction and promotion digital awareness, but that doesn't mean that paper money will be worthless.

The economy size of the country will be determined by the money available in the country physically and not electronically. So paper money will never be worthless even after 20 years.

20 years is a really small period of time, we should think about higher then that, and for sure there are chances of digital money taking over paper money in future, because every thing has to be updated once after it gets too old and now the technology has reached to the sky and i'm sure this revolution will take place too.

Paper money will be there for a long time because we haven't found a way to make internet connectivity and electricity to be available
in every part of the world. There are millions of people who are not connected to internet and are not aware of it. For them, paper currency
is the only option.

Yes, you are right, paper money will be there for a long time. There are many countries that do not even know all of the digital currency. Therefore, in the near future, the paper money will be in demand
