I've recently developed an issue with one of my habaneros. Currently, there's two sets of two. Each set of two is connected to a single rosewill lightning 1300 power supply. They're connected together through a dual PSU 24 pin adapter and connected to the host PC. Upon powering on the computer only one of the PSUs was turning on. I tried disconnecting it, testing a paperclip etc, and it still wouldn't turn on so I thought it was dead. It was swapped out with a Lepa 1200 watt power supply and the same thing happened.

I found out the one of the habaneros has some sort of short in it. When the PCIe power cable is plugged into the connector on the die 2 corner the connected power supply will not turn on. The board still recognizes in HFTools and is flashable so I tried disabling die 2 in hopes that connector only supplied power to that die. Attempting to run cgminer however, I get:

Code:
ERR: Asked to memcpy 0 bytes from usbutils.c _usb_read():3259
HFA : OP_USB_INIT failed! Operation status 20 (Regulator programming error)

I did some searching in this thread and found that the, "Regulator programming error" refers to not getting enough power. This should be obvious because one of the PCIe connectors is not plugged in, but when it is plugged in the board will not power on. Anyone have any ideas on tracing the issue or a work around?

If you haven't already done so, you should probably make an equivalent post over in the "Maketplace" forum portion of Bitcointalk. Depends on how serious you are about selling. It's unclear how well this kind of gear will sell, since the market, not just "Marketplace", is pretty merciless in terms of assigning a value.

Today is a sad, sad day.  I have decided to not renew my data-center agreement and thus I now have 6 Habneros *WITH* coolers I'm looking to sell.  I will use OgNasty as the escrow agent for those that want escrow.  OgNasty's escrow fee is 1% of the transaction and the buyer pays escrow fees for this transaction.  These cards hash rate bounce around between 640GH/s and 670GH/s and average 650GH/s.  In case you're wondering here's MrTeal's OP ->

650+ GH/s
650 GH/s nominal hashing speed, demonstrated with closed loop cooler to run over 700GH/s. Proper liquid cooling is required to reach these speeds and individual results may vary.
Power Usage
About 1 Watt per GH/s, or one Joule per GH typical at nominal speeds. Power consumption can vary with underclocking or overclocking from nominal speeds as well as with different power supply and cooling solutions.
Golden Nonce Chip
High performance 28nm ASIC mining chip. Die has built in thermal controls that allow the chip to pushed to the edge without damaging cores. Designed to be under-clocked for greater efficiency, and overclocked for greater performance
Four independent 6-phase Digital Voltage Regulators
Designed using a state-of-the-art Texas Instruments Digital voltage controller and best-in-class 60A-rated International Rectifier DrMOS outputs, the supply for each die has been designed and tested to output up to 300A. With very high efficiency in the normal operating range of 150-200A, they have plenty of over head for extreme overclocking
12 Temperature Sensors
Each of the four dies features a temperature sensor on the controller chip, one at the output mosfets, and one of the ASIC die.
Custom Backplate/Heatsink
Getting good pressure on the water cooling heat is critical to cooling performance at 500W+. The addition of a custom VRM heatsink and ASIC backplate assembly helps to cool the critical power supplies while keeping the board from flexing with extreme pressure.
Extreme PCB
Designed to support the heaviest power loads, the PCB under the ASIC has 10 heavy copper layers dedicated to running power to it.
Wide Cooling Compatibility
Using a standard 75mm Intel (lga 1366 socket b) hole spacing, a huge range of off the shelf and custom coolers are available. Flexing with extreme pressure, to ensure maximal area contract between the cooler head and the four dies. Here are some cooler suggestions, Corsair H100i/H110/H80i, Coolermaster Nepton 280L, Coolermaster Glacier 240L, Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme. Also note cooling these boards properly important to achieve maximum throughput, so some coolers that you buy the fans on the radiators are not strong enough, we have tested a San Ace 120 12v server style fan that mounts on some of these.  (INCLUDED IN THIS DEAL)
Power Supply
Not Included *BUT* I have the one's I'm using now and we can make a deal on those if you like
Easy USB interface
Connection is as simple as plugging in a mini-B USB cable to the host of your choice, fire up the free and open source mining software, and start mining. See (Not Included)

PM me with an offer if you're interested.  Buyer pays shipping *AND*, if buyer desires escrow, escrow fees as well.  USA domestic, Canada, Central and South America buyers only.

Yeah, it survives a power cycle. Just plug one in at a time and run hfa-name, then after that you can use left, right and middle. It's a better way of doing it, as if you plug in the devices in a different order and the USB numbers get swapped, it still sets the properly.

That sounds easy enough. One by one and then still use:
Code:
--hfa-options left:420@780,midleft:437@770,etc:550@780,etc2:650@820
I'll give it a test run here shortly.

PS: Shot you some positive trust for the boards. I thought I did it a long time ago, but apparently I didn't. Thanks for the boards and help.

I'm way behind on the learning curve on these, but... I a few of these boards that I'm in the process of getting setup. I'm attempting to launch four from the same cgminer instance, but am having syntax problems with my command line and naming the units.

Example:
Code:
--hfa-name left,midleft --hfa-options left:420@780,midleft:437@770
Launches both devices, but names one mid, left and the second left. The name discrepancy does not pass the commanded core and voltage settings.

Searching, I found:
--hfa-name     Set a unique name for a single hashfast device specified with --usb or the first device found

I'd like to get these to constantly have the same physical habanero be device X at restart withe the same name, core, and voltage settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

--hfa-name sets the name for _one_ unless you seperate them with --usb. Since you only have four it's probably easiest to connect one by one and start cgminer four times each time with a different name.

In restarting the devices, does that assure DeviceX is always USB0 set at say 550@800? What is the syntax for the command line? Gathering from Mr.Teal's comment as well, run name device once (saves to flash), run as numbered. Does the flash memory store through a power outage?

I'm running two boards per PSU. One is a 750 and the other is a 1200. I'd like to run three of the devices at 550 with the appropriate voltage (variance) for each board and the last board (1200w PSU) at a higher setting. I'd like to guarantee the one at the higher setting is indeed the same board each time as not to nuke the 750w PSU and / or start a small fire.

hfa-name saves the name to the flash on the device, so you only need to run it once. After that, leave it off and just run hfa-options.

I have three of these boards I can no longer use.  If anyone is interested PM me a price.  They have the coolers on them and perform well.  I just did not renew my datacenter agreement.  Will consider all offers.

I have two boards I am ready to let go as well. Includes upgraded water coolers. They run at 650GH/S solidly.

CCNA: There i fixed the internet.

got mine hashing at 330 watts at ~420 gh/s average with the fans and water pump on the same psu.

Yes very nice, what do you have the voltage and Mhz set at?

I get 434GH/s and 343W (with a Silver ATX supply) using 575MHz and 780mV.

Is the 780mV the setpoint (HF-tool) or the dies reported voltage?

I ask cuz on all the boards I've handled the setpoint is always slightly higher than voltage reported by asic ( yes I know R element of power path will cause some small Vdroop)
The setpoint. The die reports .75 to .74.

Will give this a try as I'm running 2habs off a corsair RM1000: at 550MHz@930mV since die reports about 0.89

Wanted to see if I could undervolt and squeeze 3 on there, or undervolt and bump up clock some

As a sidenote: I hate OSX Yosemite. It killed my MBPs HDD somehow and almost cost me my BTC wallet. Recovery HD partition and a thumb drive saved my ass
