Devs, need a little guidance on one of my habs.  This particular Hab took a bit of a fall a few weeks ago, but has been limping along perfectly.

Short version - this card has one broken die, and one usb ripped out, but was still hashing flawless for weeks at 925mhz~575gh/s.

I had a 5 second blackout this morning, and now the device cycles hotplug:

[2014-09-05 19:40:25] HFA : OP_USB_INIT failed! Operation status 6 (All cores failed diagnostics)
[2014-09-05 19:40:32] HFA: Found device with name Dabs
 [2014-09-05 19:40:32] Hotplug: Hashfast added HFA 1
[2014-09-05 19:40:41] HFA : OP_USB_INIT failed! Operation status 6 (All cores failed diagnostics)
[2014-09-05 19:40:59] HFA: Found device with name Dabs
 [2014-09-05 19:40:59] Hotplug: Hashfast added HFA 2
[2014-09-05 19:41:08] HFA : OP_USB_INIT failed! Operation status 6 (All cores failed diagnostics)
[2014-09-05 19:41:15] HFA: Found device with name Dabs
 [2014-09-05 19:41:15] Hotplug: Hashfast added HFA 3
[2014-09-05 19:41:24] HFA : OP_USB_INIT failed! Operation status 6 (All cores failed diagnostics)
[2014-09-05 19:41:41] HFA: Found device with name Dabs
 [2014-09-05 19:41:41] Hotplug: Hashfast added HFA 4
[2014-09-05 19:41:50] HFA : OP_USB_INIT failed! Operation status 6 (All cores failed diagnostics)
[2014-09-05 19:41:57] HFA: Found device with name Dabs
 [2014-09-05 19:41:57] Hotplug: Hashfast added HFA 5

All other equipment on that circuit is flawless, including another hab at 950Mhz~725gh/s.

Has Dabs passed away?  Is there any troubleshooting I can do?
I would try each die individually, just to see if there might have been some other damage to another die that just didn't appear until this latest thermal cycle.

Thanks for the suggestion, it worked.  Got a few weird busy errors when adjusting the per-die settings.  Looks like the FW settings were borked.

Reflashed FW, rewrote hftool.py settings, and it's back up and running.  Thanks!

Taking off my Peppermining hat here, I'm selling some of my personal boards to make room for the new test boards when they arrive.

They're all pretty good performers, using a Swiftech H220 with upgraded fans. $450 each or all 6 for $2500.

they have done work on it.   It is the current chip cut into four and they started designing a board too since apparently it can get the costs way down.    I am sure eduardo would tell you about it.   This might be a great thing for you to take up and design a board for.
This post needs it's own topic. Promoting it can't hurt.

@MrTeal. I remember someone saying HF was considering instead of a 4 die chip, making a single die chip. Any insight on that?
If there has ben work towards that, I haven't heard about it yet.

New PCBs stopped in for a brief visit before being sent off for assembly.

It'll be interesting to see how they perform. Early tests on modded Habs have shown that even in a 4 phase configuration these will still hit 900MHz+ even using the less efficient and smaller backplate on the boards.

Hopefully we can work with what's left of HF to get some chips mounted on these and get them out and mining.

If it actually creates a config file. Open it and see if it's contents are valid JSON.  Use JSONLint or the like.

It may be that the config became corrupted and reading the corrupted config to write changes is whats segfaulting cgminer.

So my cgminer crashes whenever I try and save the config file using these Habs.  Does not matter what version of cgminer.  Someone else mentioned they had the same issue.  Any answers?
Not that I can think of, all cgminer is doing when saving the config is that it's writing to a text file on the host. That would probably be something that Con would have to answer. What OS/device, and could it be a permissions issue?
Right now they are running on Win7 but I had the same issue on Win8.  It will save a config file, but it also kills the miner.  No error message, just stops working.  When I start up cgminer off the bat file it looks for the conf file and then returns a JSON error.  Then it just runs based on the bat file.  Not sure if that has something to do with it or not.
